2 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2008 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 02/01/2020

The gas gauge drops to empty and the low fuel light will come on when the car is started almost all of the time. And the fuel gauge will show half full after being filled or even while driving. It may also show empty at anytime. It may or may not return to the true level in the tank at some point. You simply do not know how much fuel is in the tank without using the trip odometer to track your mileage between fill ups. The gauge is operationally useless. Additionally, the "service engine soon" light comes on and stays on with this making the state inspection a problem and requiring a regular check to make sure something else hasn't gone wrong. Monitor code displayed is po463-fuel level sensor a circuit high input. Nissan really needs to diagnose and fix whatever the problem may be. This is an ongoing dangerous situation for many Nissan rouge owners based on what I have seen in complaints on this same problem posted to the internet car forums and my own experience.

3 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2014 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 08/24/2019

So in both of these instances I was driving on a full tank of gas and going the speed limit. The first time I noticed that my car was not accelerating was when I went out of town two months ago. I was driving through buda,TX from dallas on the hwy when I noticed my car was slowing down in speed and did not want to accelerate pass 60mph. Luckily, I was in the slow lane and was able to exit and park my car. I waited a few minutes before taking off again. It took a while for the car to accelerate and pick up speed again once I got back on the hwy (5 mins). On my way back home from that same trip it did fine. Another time it happened again was this past weekend when I was on my way to canton, TX. I had been driving a good 45 mins soing 75 on the hwy. As I approached the stop sign my Rogue drove fine until I turned left on the intersection and my car started to slow down and did not want to accelerate pass 10 mph which scared me since I was in the middle of an intersection. I hit the gas pedal twice and was able to drive over the bridge. During both of these instances I did not get a warning on my dashboard or any other signs of indication. Now im afraid to deive my car while I have my babies with me afraid that it will happen again while they are with me.

5 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2012 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 12/18/2018

12/16/18 filled full tank of gas. Range showed 297 when normally it shows 320-330 miles on a full tank. 12/18/18 am, check engine light on while driving to work. 12/18/18, pm 225 mile range, fuel gauge at 3/4. 12/19/18 am, 212 miles 3/4 fuel. 12/19/18 am 194 miles, 3/4 gauge. 12/19/18 called local Nissan dealer. 12/19/18 filed report to NHTSA. Fuel gauge is reporting 3/4 tank (stopped moving). The range of miles on a full tank is incorrect and inaccurate. Since the fuel gauge is stuck at 3/4 full and my mile reading is incorrect, I do no know how much fuel is in my vehicle unless I track the odometer start and subtract 300 (to be safe).

7 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2008 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 07/18/2018

The fuel gauge does not register if there is fuel in the tank, this has been an on-going issue for many months, and has gradually got worse to the point, that when you start the enjoy it always starts at zero. Nissan had a recall on a number of other models and makes with the same issue, the rouge was not included in that recall in 2014. Per the direction on the last recall we are attempting to fill the tank before it gets below 50% full.

8 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2013 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 07/10/2018

Fuel tank needle stays either full or empty no matter how much fuel in the tank. The check engine light stays on. Diagnosis shows faulty fuel level sensor.

9 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2017 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 02/18/2018

10 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2012 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 01/02/2018

The fuel gauge is reading incorrectly. When it is full it will say half a tank. I have tried to fill up at multiple different gas stations to ensure that tank was full. It just reads incorrectly always. With just a little over a hundred thousand miles.

11 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2008 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 10/08/2017

I filled up my gas tank on 10/8/17 and the gas gauge showed one bar less than full. This is the 5th time that my fuel sending unit has broken over the last few years. The 1st time on 6/26/10, the 2nd time on 3/30/11 (reported 3/30/11, repaired 4/13/11), the 3rd time on 6/6/12 (reported 6/6/12, repaired 6/12/12), the 4th time on 6/3/13 (reported 6/3/13, repaired 6/17/13), and now the 5th time on 10/8/17. I booked an appointment with my local dealership and they confirmed the malfunctioning fuel sending unit on 10/13/17. But, they told me that it was out of warranty, and they had no discretion or ability to make a repair out of warranty and that I needed to call consumer affairs. I called consumer affairs on 10/13/17 and explained the situation to two individuals. Both women acknowledged that it wasn't acceptable that I'm now dealing with this exact same issue again. I was told that a regional consumer affairs specialist would review the case and my service records, and then contact me with a decision. After back and forth with the specialist and her supervisor, I was told that they were rejecting my case because I was out of warranty. I questioned that as a reason, given I was directed to this group for an out of warranty review. I explained again that I had experienced this same problem repeatedly. This had resulted in the same part being replaced multiple times under warranty. And each of those times, it broke pointing to either faulty parts being installed while under warranty, or improper installation while under warranty. I believe this needs to be looked into as a safety issue because it could result in someone running out of gas while driving. Nissan doesn't appear to be taking the issue seriously. And a basic google search will show that I'm not the only person experiencing this issue. Car: stationary part: fuel sending unit.

12 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2017 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 10/06/2017

My gas gauge is showing full after fill up but now is not moveing and says I still have a full tank and thats not possible with 203 miles to empty when normaly when I fill up its over 440 miles to empty.

13 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2009 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 10/02/2017

Fuel gauge reading is erratic and unreliable when driving at steady speed. It jumps erratically by as much as half a tankful, back and forth.

14 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2010 Nissan Rogue

15 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2008 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 04/18/2017

Gas gauge show empty sometimes when its on half tank then the engine lights turn on,when get full tank and run for 2 hrs the engine lights goes off but when gas tank get to half, sometimes when engine starts the gauge shows empty tank again and then in short time the gauge start going up again but not sure if its reading right fill of gas. Somebody said it might a problem on gas valve that the spring won't work good. It happen all the time anywhere all the time, in motion or in stop.

16 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2012 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 11/16/2016

On November 10, 2016 I noticed that my 2012 Nissan Rogue gas gauge is off. Even with a full tank of gas, the gauge will read the tank as below the full level. At times it will show the tank as 3/4. Today (November 16, 16) my car was taken to the dealership it was purchased brand new to be seen for this problem. The service team informed me that no error codes were being thrown on their computer. I tried to explain that I know something is faulty with the fuel gauge. I fill the car up with gas and the gauge stays at 3/4 of a tank. It does not move, letting me know when I am full or empty on gas. The service department tried to sell me on the idea that the Rogue just has "great gas mileage". Nothing has or will be done to resolve this issue.

17 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2014 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 06/04/2016

I previously put a complaint in, no one contacted me. I was told by Nissan representative they will not cover the problem (06/04/2016). I've taken my vehicle to two other Nissan dealers and they stated there is a serious problem with the car, but, were I purchased my vehicle at told me I was heavy on the gas, that if there was a recall on my car parts, the number stamped to that part, would of flagged my car. What nonsense. Well, here's the pictures that I'm uploading. The fuel tank didn't even come on even at 1 mile left to gas station. Like I said I bought my vehicle in concord, nc. (modern Nissan of concord). I would like Nissan to step up to the plate and correct these problems. It's not good customer service, and word will get around. I don't promote Nissan or my Rogue anymore. Due to poor service, and not taking care of the consumers complaints and fixing the problems. Please read all the complaints about the Rogues, Nissan, doesn't stand behind there brand, because if they did, we wouldn't be online complaining. I expect the NHTSA, to do investigations on our complaints, so far no one contacted me. I say there is computer software glitch, if the gas tank doesn't illuminate. Also, the gear shift, only illuminate when it wants too !!I guess they will back up Nissan and not remedy the problems. I'm about to call the local t. V. Station and have them investigate, and get some answers from Nissan, why they aren't taking care of the consumers.

18 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2014 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 05/17/2016

I received notice of a recall concerning a defect with the fuel tank that could cause the car to stall. I brought my car in to the Nissan in boardman, OH on may 17th to have the issue addressed. They told me they needed to order parts for it, and that would take approximately 1-2 weeks to come in. It has been over 3 weeks now, so I called to check the status. They said the parts were back ordered, and that they would not have it in until mid July. They insisted there was no real danger and told me to continue driving it.

19 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2016 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 02/12/2016

The tank opening allows a diesel fuel nozzle to fit and their sarcastic representative named coutney told me that is not their problem. It cost me over 8 hundred dollars in cost to pump out diesel gas and tow charges. Nissan towing service would not help me when I was stranded by a busy 4 lane hwy. My car was about 2 weeks old. I pumped the gas and got on the high way and my car began jerking until it finally died. They road side service used the excuse that I said I was afraid stting like that so close to the high way not to give any assistance at all. I'd like to know, since Nissan does not help customers at ll once they buy their cars, if there is any place that would remove them from the us. They should not be allowed to continue to sell cars with no assistance to customers and they contradict what the sales offices tell customers about such things as road side service. I don't think it is fair to americans that they are allowed to continue sales when they will not assist with any problems. "this is my second Nissan and it was the same with the first. It is the corporate people I am complaining about. I have no problems with the dealer in high point nc where I bought the car. You give the means to contact Nissan customer service in franklin but the truth is there is no0 assistance to be had by these people. They are a waste of time.

20 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2008 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 11/18/2015

It ran out of fuel while on the freeway. The gas guage says theres still half tank. Road service added gas and it started. Until now the gas guage is still not going down as I drive for more than 50 miles. This is a safety issue cause it could run out of gas in the middle of the road.

21 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2014 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 10/16/2015

Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Nissan Rogue. The vehicle was inadvertently filled with diesel fuel. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer who DE-fueled the gas tank and refilled it with regular gas and performed a road test at the owners expense. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but did not offer any help, stating that the failure was not a warranted issue. The failure mileage was 25,000. Fe.

22 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2008 Nissan Rogue

This is an ongoing dangerous situation for many Nissan rouge owners based on what I have seen in complaints on this same problem posted to the internet car forums and my own experience.

23 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2012 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 07/27/2015

The only problem I have is regarding the fuel gauge reading incorrectly. For example a full tank will give me a range of 235 mpg, while it should be over 300 mpg. I have 2012 Nissan Rogue awd. 2nd test with the tank has 3/4 of a tank and the range was around 189 mpg. I went to Nissan dealer and tested same year and model with half of a tank and gave me 165 mpg. Dealer are aware of this issue and there is no recall on it. Quote for repair: $119. To diagnose. $420. For sender unit and sub-sender unit (vehicle is awd) and $263. For labor. There should be a recall on it to fix that issue and not to charge people hundreds of dollars.

24 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2008 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 01/15/2015

For the past few weeks, my gas gauge has been reading incorrectly and when I would go to fill out the vehicle, it would never show completely full. In some cases, I would turn on the vehicle and it would read sufficiently less than what was in the tank and then climb back up to what I assume was the correct level. My last fill up, the gauge read 3 bars left of fuel and I pumped 14. 5 gallons of gas at the station which is exactly my gas tank size. I then looked online and discovered several other people with the same make, model, and year and other models were having the same issue but no good fixes appear to have been found.

25 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2008 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 01/07/2015

The fuel sending unit does not work. I fill up the tank and it does not read full, and it is unreliable. I contacted Nissan north America and they told me the car is not subject to a recall or warranty extension so too bad. This is a 7 year old car! this shouldn't fail! also, Nissan has issued recalls for the same part for the Nissan frontier and altima, both for the 2008 model year.

26 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2014 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 11/09/2014

Purchased 2014 Rogue select in concord, nc, July 2014. Vehicle wouldn't start, about 4 months after purchased, used jumpers to get started at home. Then another time I had to use jumper cable to get it started, after I left walmart. Had walmart car dept. To check my vehicle. I had a neighbor look at it, problem was probably fuel line. I fill tank up, and will only display between 100-180 miles, before having to refuel. But, shows that the tank is filled. Never received a recall letter, regardless that I moved. Sad that I never received a notice regardless that I moved, no excuse. At all. If they can send me emails a lot, then I expect I notice. Come on Nissan, do your part and acknowledge our vehicles. I paid good money for my Rogue. I will remember when I purchase another vehicle, and it won't be a Nissan. I will go with Toyota, since they acknowledge there problems, when they arise, and have no problem fixing them. That's how Nissan is going to lose consumers, by not standing by there product.

27 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2008 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 09/18/2014

I filled me vehicle up on Monday of this week, and the gas guage never went above a 1/4 of a tank. When I was driving to work my car ran out of gas and I had no idea because it had been showing on e all week, but I knew it had gas. Since I purchased the car in October, it has never actually gone all the way to full no matter how much I fill it up. I look online and all I'm seeing is this is a hugely known issue with Nissan's. It caused me lost work and I will now have to pay $600+ to get this fixed, when if they got it resolved there wouldn't be hundreds of people online complainng about the same issue, no matter the age of the vehicle.

28 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2014 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 09/15/2014

I purchased my 2014 Rogue from bates Nissan in killeen, TX on 9/4/14 and from the start on the full tank of gas given to me when I purchased the vehicle, the engine would stall at stop lights/stop signs and going around corners. When I called the bates Nissan service department, they told me that I was using the wrong type of gas, that I needed to use premium. We then started bringing it to the next closest dealership, garlyn shelton Nissan in temple, TX. We have brought it there a total of five times now, even leaving it overnight several times. They say that they cannot duplicate the vehicle stalling while it is there and therefore can do nothing. I provided them with codes that I had my stepfather pull off the vehicle after it stalled in my parents driveway, but Nissan said that they cannot use those. The only option that they give me is to leave the vehicle where it is when it stalls and have it towed to the dealership without restarting it so they can read the codes that way. This is impossible because it is unsafe for me to leave my vehicle in the middle of very busy city streets until a tow truck can come. It never stalls just sitting somewhere convenient. Nissan did allow some testing to be done this time, but gave me the vehicle back saying that everything was fine.

29 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2011 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 05/02/2014

Fuel gauge shows only 1/4 tank after full up. Eventually shows full after about 50 miles, then stays at full for approximately 100 miles before it shows any fuel used.

See all problems of the 2011 Nissan Rogue 🔎.

30 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2009 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 03/20/2014

Fuel gauge is saying full tank but have driven for a while and it still is saying it is full.

31 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2009 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 06/24/2013

My gas gauge is not reading properly so any time my tank is below half full it displays random inaccurate levels. There are recalls on many other models for this exact problem and the Rogue should be included in the recall.

32 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2010 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 07/19/2012

After driving approx 200 miles, fuel gauge reads full for gas tank. Is not reducing the reading of the gas remaining to fill up accurately. There have been emails with this problem on this model since 2008, most recently a specific one had to be changed 3 times.

33 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2009 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 12/01/2011

The fuel gauge does not register properly. It will not show a full tank or no gas. It only show 80 to 90 percent full and does not go below 1/4 tank, even with no gas.

34 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2010 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 05/28/2011

The Nissan Rogue gas gauge does not register gas usage correctly. The car can be driven 100 - 200 miles and gas gauge shows a full tank. The gas gauge is not consistently off by same quantity either, so actual gas in the car is not predictable. It fails to work correctly during any normal car usage. Problem was first noticed 1 month after purchase. Took to dealer and was told there was no issue in 9/2/10. On 11/18/10 my Rogue ran out of gas in rush hour traffic when the gauge still showed 3 gallons of gas! took car in again in 1/31/11 was told gas sending unit was faulty and had part replaced 3/26/11. On 5/13/11 gas gauge shows full after driving 130 miles and car takes 6. 5 gal of gas. On 5/28/11 returned to dealer, they ordered another new sending unit and a new pump.
