Jc billon supposedly fixed the gas line recall but unfortunately my car still smells like gas from time to time and I have reached out numerous times with no call backs and they still have not reached out about the engine recall.
I am reporting a safety defect for my 2021 Nissan Rogue with approximately 140,000 miles. The vehicle has repeatedly overheated, emitted white smoke from the dipstick area and the exhaust, lost coolant, and produced no cabin heat. The engine rattles and shakes. I previously had a recall fixed at Nissan related to the ecu, but these issues persist. I’ve also had regular maintenance on the vehicle and replaced the starter as well. I believe this relates to the known engine defect in these models. I am concerned for my safety and need this addressed.

Vehicle safety complaint – fuel leak I am reporting a serious safety issue with my vehicle. Vehicle: Nissan Rogue 2021 there is a fuel leak from underneath the fuel tank area, and a strong gasoline odor inside the cabin. The smell is noticeable while driving and when the vehicle is parked. This creates a fire and explosion hazard, and I believe the vehicle is unsafe to operate. The manufacturer/dealer informed me that the warranty has expired and refused to cover the repair. No accident occurred, but the fuel leak is ongoing and presents an immediate safety risk. I am requesting that this issue be reviewed as a potential safety defect.
Blinking lights on dashboard, notified Nissan, they stated they knew of recall, but didn't know how to resolve yet, engineers were working on the issue, they stated when it breaks down just bring it in. Car engine light blinks, all warning lights blink, car stops immediately while pulling into to drive way. Lights appeared 1 day ago, then drove ok. Started car this morning to go to work, 4 miles away pulled in and car started blinking all emergency lights, quickly called Nissan they were closed to due to holiday. Emergency lites are check engine light, Feb light, master warning light, aeb lights , malfunction indicator light (mil). Rab light, the start button contents blink when all theses lights are blinking. The fact that Nissan told me to wait till it breaks down, or they would call me to fix recall when they know how is irresponsible .

The fuel pump and fuel level system appear to be malfunctioning. After refueling, the fuel gauge on the dashboard fluctuates continuously and does not provide a stable or accurate reading. This fluctuation continues for several minutes after pumping gas. The vehicle also struggles to start, requiring multiple attempts before turning on. On multiple occasions, the engine has shut off unexpectedly while the vehicle was in motion. This issue poses a safety risk because the vehicle can stall while driving, which increases the risk of a collision, especially in traffic or at higher speeds. The inaccurate fuel gauge also makes it difficult to determine the actual fuel level, increasing the risk of running out of fuel unexpectedly. The problem has occurred multiple times and is reproducible. The fuel pump and related components are available for inspection upon request. Dealer or independent service center confirmation is unknown at this time. Inspection by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives is unknown. Prior to the vehicle shutting off or struggling to start, symptoms included fluctuating fuel gauge readings immediately after refueling and continued erratic gauge behavior while driving. No warning lights are recalled at this time (unknown).
My Rogue is smelling like gas almost all the time and I am only getting 225-250 miles a full tank.
Engine malfunction power reduce service now wed Aug 20. My 2023 Rogue was at the dealership debating that thye can fix the recall because there is no remedy for the inspection for the recall. My truck stayed at the shop until October. This passed Friday October 31 while driving and picking up donations I began to get on the freeway and the same message happened. I couldn't go over 25mph the dealership was 28 minutes away. My safety was a risk it was the on ramp of the freeway and it was all freeway to get to the dealership. The food donations I picled up were at risk of not be able. To be served to shelter residents. I receibed and email stating that the fuel injectors and egr valve need to replace immediately totatling almost 5,000 after just paying $1700 last month. This is the second time since August with this message but the check engine light has been going on and off with alerts in my car amd Nissan app for over 6 months.

I had been having issues with my vehicle randomly stalling out when I would start it and put it into reverse. It also was hesitating during acceleration at times. On 9/2/25 I took it to a Nissan dealership for these issues and was told they couldn’t find anything wrong. I specifically asked if it could be related to the recall I had just received notice about in the mail and was told ‘probably not’. The issues persisted off and on the next few weeks and I was about to call them to let them know things were still not working right and some things had gotten worst (like almost stalling out in the middle of the day at a light). On 10/21/25 (6 weeks after the dealership said there was nothing wrong with my car) I started having major problems driving home and the heat would not work. I barely got it home and by then it was running very rough. Husband looked and said there was almost no antifreeze and added some. He said I couldn’t drive it and we had to tow it in the morning. Tow truck driver nearly started it on fire because he couldn’t get it into service mode and it started smoking terribly for the 30 seconds it was on. Nissan dealership (different one) said there were five 2022 Nissan roque’s with the same problem ahead of me. After almost a week they called to tell me Nissan is replacing the ‘engine long block and turbo’. I’ve had to rent a car at $400/week and have no idea how long this is going to take. Thankful I wasn’t driving when things got really bad. Also - no service lights have ever come on indicating anything was wrong at any point.
To whom it may concern, I am filing a vehicle safety complaint regarding a sudden and complete failure of the body control module (bcm) in my 2015 Nissan Rogue. This failure has resulted in a complete "no-start" condition, rendering the vehicle inoperable without warning. The problem occurred on or about [date of breakdown, if known]. The vehicle would not start, despite the ignition powering on. A professional diagnosis was performed, which confirmed that the body control module had failed and was not sending the required signal to the intelligent power distribution module (ipdm) to allow the vehicle to start. The technician's notes state: "found no signal from bcm to ipdm to start vehicle. " I have since learned that this is a known manufacturer issue, documented in Nissan technical service bulletin (TSB) ntb16-024, titled "no start, mil on, dtc u1000, u1010, c110a, p1614, p1615, p1630, p1631 (reprogram bcm or replace ipdm). " the diagnosis and attempted repair on my vehicle perfectly match the procedure outlined in this TSB. Safety concern: while a"no-start" condition may not seem like a traditional safety hazard, the sudden and unpredictable nature of this failure presents a significant safety risk. A vehicle that becomes completely inoperable without warning can strand drivers and passengers in potentially dangerous situations, such · in the middle of intersections or busy roadways. · in isolated areas with no access to help. · during extreme weather conditions (extreme heat, cold, storms). · while transporting individuals with medical needs. The failure of a critical electronic component like the bcm, which is responsible for numerous vehicle functions, at only 50,000 miles indicates a serious and potentially widespread defect in materials or workmanship. I am requesting that the NHTSA investigate this failure pattern in 2014-2016 Nissan Rogue vehicles. Existence of a TSB and numerous complaints from other owners online suggest a major defect.

On oct 17,2025. While driving 35 mph on my to drop off my niece to her doctor appointment. My new 2024 Nissan Rogue started to shake and engine light started to blank and cut off power and stopped on the road. Putting our lives at risk for accident on the road. Error code : p2563 and p2565. I took it to the dealership antwerpen Nissan in clarksville, MD. Were I purchased the car brand new in 2024. The system check showed that Nissan turbo had failed a defective safety recall and I need a new engine for my car after less then 1 year. The dealership would not honor this dangerous safety recall issue from Nissan has on the turbo engine as there is a active recall on 2022 - 2024 Nissan Rogue on the vc- turbo engine. Nissan and antwerpen Nissan have not given me any help to fix this defective turbo engine that is putting a lot of drivers like myself at safety risk for a accident on the road. I would like to file a complaint in this matter to get it resolved and fixed on my 2024 Nissan Rogue sv with a new turbo . To fix the defective recall vc- turbo from Nissan. Thank you, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

On [xxx] I was driving out of state on the highway and abruptly I received an engine warning on my dashboard, my car immediately went into "limp" mode. Pulled over on the highway as car was now un operable. The car received 2 diagnostic tests via the closest mechanic on 10/6 which stated my engine has gone. The car than was towed to victory Nissan of mechanicsville who completed the second diagnostic test on 10/13/2025 who stated my engine and transmission needs to be fixed corrected. There are no current remedies so I would have to pay for the cost and when a remedy is provided by Nissan, then I would be able to provide then the invoice for reimbursement. The car is currently still at victory Nissan of mechanicsville. They also had no loaners available so I have been carless thus far. Prior to the failure there were no other symptoms or warning lights before [xxx] on my vehicle. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
There’s an open recall for my year and engine but have not received a recall letter and zero recalls show open. My car as a grinding noise when accelerating slowly and the engine power is very low when accelerating fast and almost red lines at 30 miles per hour but eventually catches up and goes to normal. Also while driving it feels the car is sucking fumes at times with a full tank of fuel.
Dashboard error message: "engine malfunction power reduced service now" and will suddenly stop in the middle of the road or freeway.
So my engine failed at 70k. Nissan replaced it with a remanufactured engine the is failing faster than the original engine. Currently at 112k, I have replaced the catalytic converter, muffler, egr sensor twice, mass airflow sensor and oil changes at 3k just to have the vehicle in the shop for 6-7 months in 2025 alone. Do not buy a 2023 Nissan Rogue with the 1. 5l. The reman engine is under a safety recall for bearing degradation, but the dealership won't even look at it unless I pay upfront for a full diag fee of 4500 dollars for a wiring harness that is a secondary condition. Apparently the remedy won't be out until late in q4 of 2025. No rental or loaner assistance was offered at all. The vehicle has a deep knocking and won't accelerate properly to use roads and interstate driving safely. The latest symptom is low oil pressure and stalling. Completly unsafe car and ridiculous amount of time getting repaired. All of this has been since October 31st of 2024.
My 2019 Nissan Rogue is just under 100k miles and started bucking back and forth while in nyc and stalled. Radiator fan stopped working and sends signal the vehicle it is overheating needs to be replaced and thermostat and hoses.

The fuel gauge has failed. The ac unit has been finicky since I purchased the vehicle and has already received one repair. Fuel gauge has been reading incorrectly for 2 weeks now. Read that it is a common issue for the Nissan Rogue sports. A few days ago my forward collision warning came on and said system error. There were no objects in front of me or stuck to the vehicle.

I was driving home at night when my car broke down on the highway. I had to leave the car there and take an uber home. The next day, I had the car towed to the nearest Nissan service center to have it check/repair. They did the diagnostic and they didn't know what's going on with the car, a few days later they told me that the engine was damaged and needed to be replaced but they were waiting for Nissan to approve it. It took 2 and a half weeks to get the car repair. After the repair, I still have the engine lights come up and the car jerks when accelerating; I reported these issues to customer affairs and they didn't do anything about it; they also told me that there is another recall pending and will be taken care of in January. This is not the first time the car broke down, I had all engine lights come up before and had to run the the Nissan service center; they told me that the fuel gasket was leaking. I don't feel safe driving this car; I have to commute to work everyday and I'm afraid that is going to break down again. I bought a Nissan car because I had like 4 different Nissan models before and they always have been very reliable cars, but this time I think I got a lemon and Nissan don't feel like they need to replace it. I have all the recordings going back and forth with the customer affairs where they confirm that it was they fault the car broke down.
Fuel pump clip came completely loose causing horrible gas smell. Took dealership was they found that was problem & was charged $185. Searched saw there was a recall# 21v-068 for my year of Rogue thought this is not coming up when I search my VIN.
I was driving in the fast lane on the highway, when the vehicle seemingly lost all power and the instrument cluster displayed a warning stating “engine malfunction, power reduced, service now. ” I was then only able to travel at about 35mph off of the highway to a safe location to pull over. This has happened twice within a week, the second time being on [xxx]. After the first time, mossy Nissan of kearney mesa stated they fixed it (see attached text message). The second occurrence, it was identical circumstances and loss of power. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
My 2023 Nissan Rogue is currently at the avondale Nissan dealership in avondale, az. I have been taking it between service appointments and the check engine and recall for the pass 4 months then a week ago it stop while driving to my mailbox and acted like it was in an accident. Each time I have taken to the dealership they stated it unfortunate would have to wait until something worse happen because they couldn’t see it in the codes. Now that what was described has happened the dealership is stating I have to pay 3500 to determine if it is the engine. Before they can determine if it’s part of the recall after 4 months of me asking for the help and describing how the car was running.
Dear sir or madam, I purchased a 2023 Nissan Rogue for $24,510. 00 from a new jersey Nissan dealership. Only 45 days after the purchase, Nissan issued two separate safety recalls involving a risk of crash. Nissan failed to provide the necessary parts for months and did not remedy the safety defects within a reasonable time, as required under the federal motor vehicle safety act (49 u. S. C. Chapter 301). I repeatedly contacted Nissan asking for: 1. A buyback at fair market value, and 2. A rental/loaner vehicle until the recall repairs were completed. Nissan refused both requests, which violates the new jersey lemon law, the magnuson–moss warranty act, and the new jersey consumer fraud act. Because the vehicle was unsafe to drive and Nissan offered no solution, I was forced to sell it for $16,600. 00. My financial loss is $7,910. 00. I respectfully request: 1. A formal investigation into Nissan north America’s handling of these safety recalls, and 2. Assistance in recovering my $7,910. 00 economic loss. Sincerely, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The main issue involves the engine bearings (recall campaign kr15, NHTSA id 25v-437). According to Nissan, certain engines equipped with the 1. 5l vc-turbo have a manufacturing defect in the main, a-, c-, and l-link bearings or related components. This defect can lead to engine damage and, in some cases, complete engine failure. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This situation puts my safety and the safety of others at risk, because if the engine fails while driving, it may cause a sudden loss of motive power, significantly increasing the risk of a crash. I am especially concerned because I frequently drive on highways and in traffic conditions where a sudden loss of power could result in an accident. The issue has been confirmed by Nissan through the recall notice, but as of now, the remedy is still pending, and there is no immediate fix or available parts for the engine bearing defect. My vehicle has not yet been inspected by Nissan for this recall, and I have not received a loaner vehicle or alternative solution to ensure safety while the remedy is pending. In addition, there are two other active recalls: turbo hose defect (Nissan id p4a47) – may cause fuel vapor smell inside or around the vehicle. Eem logic (Nissan id p3a28) – related to the underhood switching module (usm/ipdm), which may lead to a vehicle no-start condition. Before the engine problem fully manifests, there are warning signs including unusual engine noises, rough engine performance, and warning messages appearing on the dashboard, such as the malfunction indicator light (mil). These symptoms appeared progressively and have increased my concern about the possibility of a total engine failure while driving.
Vehicle start/stop feature causes the vehicle to “jump” forward and shutter upon engine engagement. Transmission replaced and a rattling occurring.
I was driving on the freeway and my car started slowing down to the point of intermittently stalling. The mil or check engine light came on. I could have been hit from the back if I did not successfully pull to over to the side of the freeway. I slowly drove it to a safe place and had my car towed to the Nissan dealership. It will now be looked at on Monday.
My 2021 Nissan Rogue has a major gas fume leak. When the vehicle sits at idle in a parking lot with all of the doors and windows closed, the gas fumes build up inside of the cabin of the vehicle. The fumes get so strong that it gives me migraines and makes me feel nauseous and to the point of almost passing out. Sometimes it's so bad you can still smell the fumes in the car the following day even after it's been turned off all night. I took it to the Nissan dealership and they said it's a known problem that cannot be fixed on these cars.
I was driving down interstate 40 at 75 miles an hour and my car just quit in traffic. Luckily I was able to pull over to the side of the road and set for about 10 minutes and my car started back up and I made it about 30 more miles and it quit again and I waited 10 minutes and it starts up again. That’s very dangerous in traffic.

While driving and accelerating from 60 to 70mph the engine chugged, lost power. I was thankfully able to get to the side of the road safely and my child was not in the vehicle. As soon as I got it to the side of the road the engine emissions malfunction, the low oil pressure and both safe indicator lights for the rear and front crash came on. A message popped up stating: emissions malfunction power reduced service immediately. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership. As on currently, almost a week later, the dealership still does not know what happened.
"the vehicle is affected by NHTSA recall #25v-437, related to engine bearing defects in the vc-turbo 1. 5l 3-cylinder engine. This defect may cause engine damage and sudden loss of power while driving, creating a serious safety hazard. As of today, no repair or remedy has been provided. ".
There is an odd engine 'rattling', 'guzzling', 'slurping', type noise coming from the engine and the engine has begun to idle very rough even after fresh oil change. This is directly the issue cited from Nissan as recall with no current solution - which is unacceptable. We are not interested in waiting until the car malfunctions worse and in a dangerous way in order to get this recall addressed.
Our 2021 Nissan Rogue stalls in traffic, park brake alert pops up when not on, radio doesn’t work sometimes, gas pump doesn’t click off when full so have to watch or it spills on car and ground, inside pillars between fr-windshield and front driver and passenger windows leak when I run it through the car wash, there are constant glitches with it that we’ve taken in and they say it doesn’t replicate for them so they can’t do anything even though they have complaints on all with the NHTSA. The vehicle just stalls out while driving?.
Related to pe23-023. 2022 Nissan Rogue with 77,000 miles first lost heating ability and then would stall and not start. Problem was diagnosed by an ase certified shop/tech. Diagnostic inspection revealed 2 quarts of coolant missing and contamination in the cylinders. To start the recommendation was to replace the egr cooler and turbo, after reviewing similar complaints, I have chosen not to do the repairs as it doesn't sounds like it will fix the root cause and I am not inclined to replace the motor, turbo, egr etc only for this to occur again. I plan to trade out of this vehicle at a significant financial loss and replace it to ensure the safety of my family. I would like to be a part of the investigation, if in the future Nissan is held accountable for this engineering failure I may be able to recoup some of my financial hardship.
Our vehicle stalled once while idle at an atm. Upon restart we brought it to our local mechanic for investigation, they diagnosed the issue as a turbo sensor problem costing about $700. They recommended bringing it to Nissan for further review rather than charge us for the repair. We picked up the vehicle the next day and brought it to our local Nissan dealership where they confirmed it was in face the turbo causing the issue. After discovering this and quoting us a repair of $7,200 they did a pressure test overnight only to discover there was coolant leaking into the engine and that a new block will now need to be installed for the vehicle to work. The new cost is $11,500 to repair. The vehicle is a 2022 Nissan Rogue that we are the only owners with regular maintenance. When we dropped off the vehicle at both locations there was no check engine light on and there were no signs of engine failure. The sales manager went to check the vehicle and confirmed the engine no longer works.
There is an intermittent smell of gas/exhaust fumes in the cabin since purchasing the car. Nissan says there is no issue and offers no fix but I have never owned a car that had this type of smell in the cabin unless there was something wrong. The smell can be so bad as to cause nausea and headaches.
