36 Seat Belt problem of the 2015 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 08/22/2022

The passenger front seatbelt is locked and cannot be used. Was working fine day before then went to use it and it was locked. My mechanic checked it out and stated that I needed a new retractor. I think this should be covered by the Nissan manufacuture, as it is a safety issue. My car is seven years old and only has 54,000 miles. I have had two other new cars, which both have lasted me for 16 years each and I have never had any problems with the seats belts at all. I would appreciate your assistance to have them repair this issue ASAP. , as it is a safety issure that should not have occured. Thank you toni smiles.

37 Seat Belt problem of the 2016 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 08/04/2022

My wife lois (84) was driving the car. She was alone. The air bags on the passenger side exploded and sprayed her with its contents that appear to me to be deadly and can cause death or brain injury. The explosion caused her to move the car and she was bumped by a vehicle on the drivers side. That damage was very very slight. The big cost was the air bags. I have to pay for that because allstate would not cover it because they said it was the air bags fault that they do not cover. I think that is correct. While the 7k cost hurts it is nothing compared to what this did to my wife. She is a very intelligent person with excellent memory. She ran our household paying all bills etc. Since the incident she has lost her short term memory. Now she need consent help with almost everything and we can no longer let her drive.

We have a 2016 Nissan Rogue that is under the recall id. 22v-024. We have the water damage and that caused the wiring harness to malfunction. Nissan dealership fixed the harness problem but not fix the cause of this happening. We are getting water seeping up from the drivers side floor. I shop vac and use a fan to dry it out but the water returns. On the recall letter from Nissan it states in bold lettering #1 " please stop driving your vehicle immediately and call Nissan. " #2 "park your vehicles outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures. "by not fixing the root cause of the problem the harness will malfunction again which could lead to a fire inside the vehicle which is quite a safety issue. Nissan is aware of this problem but is refusing to fix the problem. Nissan dealership had this vehicle in there possession for 5 weeks in July, 20222, into August, 2022,.

39 Seat Belt problem of the 2021 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 07/10/2022

Car and driver reported early builds pre January 28th 2021 from the japan plant recorded a 2 star safety rating on the passenger small overlap test. Nissan updated retrofitted the passenger airbag module software and seatbelt and was supposed to start a campaign to notify owners to have this done and we were never notified and Nissan is no help when you call and provide VIN. They only tell me no recalls on this VIN. Please note the assembly line builds were provided the retrofit after jan28th 2021 in japan builds and smyrna tenn builds were already updated before the first build came off the line. My wife's truck and this VIN qualifies with a build date of November 2020 from japan's factory. Very concerned of the safety of any passenger in our truck and Nissan is dragging their feet and not taking this seriously I feel due to expense. Not sure how many are affected but they need a severe push to remedy this issue. Please help us and god bless you for having this forum. We purchased this Feb 2021 and its been long enough for Nissan to do the right thing for public safety for our family. Thank you. Bill.

I was going to take my 2018 Nissan rouge to the dealer for my electric fan coolant because the bearings sounds like they are going but we decided to do it ourselves because they wanted over 1000. 00 USA dollars and we can't afford that. Even my local garage said it would be over 800 bucks! we started to search the internet to find out we are not the only ones with this same problem!! lots of people are having the same problem with these cars and most of the Nissan brand. I would like to know why this hasn't been recalled. This could heat up my engine or worse case blow it up. The second compliant I have is my seatbelt doesn't work sometimes. The latch keeps getting stuck and the light is on no matter if it is buckled or not. This seems to be not under warranty? why it is a safety hazard. I am very disappointed in the Nissan production. I love the car but keep having these problems!.

51 Seat Belt problem of the 2021 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 06/07/2021

We bought our 2021nissan Rogue se from fuccillo Nissan of clearwater, 15232 us-19, clearwater, FL, (727-507-3200) on may 5, 2021. Our Rogue had 400+ miles on the odometer at the time we received. On June 7, 2021 the air bag dash light came on. An appointment was made for service of the airbags on June 10, 2021. At the time of pick up the airbag dash light was off. It turned back on June 14, 2021. In a call to fuccillo service department the service tech informed us that because the airbag dash light was on the airbags were disabled. We had a major trip planned to attend a wedding in PA that we were driving to. Since the airbags were disabled driving our Rogue on a 3000+ mile trip would not be safe. We were put in a position of renting a vehicle for our trip. On June 15, 2021 we left our Rogue at fuccillo Nissan of clearwater for repair of this safety issue. Today is July 14, 2021 and our Rogue is still at the dealership waiting for the arrival of a seat belt clip which may fix the airbag issue. We have started a claim case# 44081404 with Nissan consumer assistance requesting replacement of Rogue with a new 2021 Nissan Rogue comparably equipped as the new 2021 Nissan Rogue we purchased on may 5, 2021.

53 Seat Belt problem of the 2016 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 04/11/2021

In April 2021 I purchased a 2016 Nissan Rogue. A few times I noticed that I did not have my seatbelt on while driving which for me, is highly unusual because it is the first thing I do once I start my engine. It is the audible chime that alerts me. I then specifically started my engine and realized that the car did not have a safety belt chime. ( fmvss 208 s7. 3 ) I took it to a Nissan dealer. The technician told me that Nissan did not put a safety belt audible chime in any of their vehicles before 2020. I could not believe what I was hearing. Not only is this feature federal law but, it is also in the Nissan owners manual. It is not a feature that can be turned on or off. It is a federal requirement. Nissan is violating federal law and has been doing so for years at the expense of the american people. I am worried for my safety and the safety of others since it is difficult to discover that there is no audible seat belt safety chime and that it is a safety issue that might prevent one from putting on their seatbelt so that they don’t go flying through the front windshield. Federal law states: “manufacturers have an option. They can either use a seatbelt symbol and an audible chime or the words “ seat belt” and an audible chime”. The audible chime is not an option it is a requirement. The chime is not a feature that can be turned on or off in any Nissan vehicle including my 2016 Nissan Rogue. The consumer needs to know about this missing safety feature as per federal law. I wonder how many lives have been lost because someone just like me, needed that audible safety belt chime to remind them that their seat belt was not buckled and it cost them their lives. There is a reason that the safety belt safety law has two components. A visual and an audible safety belt feature. Federal motor vehicle safety standards exist for the safety of the american people. With Nissan, this does not seem to matter.

54 Seat Belt problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 04/01/2021

Rear camera sensor sometimes doesn't alert of obstruction.

55 Seat Belt problem of the 2016 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 02/28/2021

The front passenger side seatbelt has become fully retracted and is currently in a locked position where it will not pull out at all. There has been no accident and nothing happened at all involving the airbag on that side, this situation has taken place all on its own and is now preventing me from carrying any passengers in the front seat due to the malfunctioning of that particular seat belt. This issue occurred while my car was parked in my own parking space with the engine turned off.

56 Seat Belt problem of the 2019 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 02/15/2021

The seat belts in the back seat do not work properly, the one on the left doesn't come out, the one on the right will not go back in place.

57 Seat Belt problem of the 2013 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 01/01/2021

The cars passenger airbag light will stay illuminated as off when no one or nothing is in the seat. This light should go off within 7 seconds of the car turning on. And when an adult passenger of adequate size gets in the seat it may or may not remain off. This means that the airbag may not deploy if needed because the OCS sensor is not properly registering the weight of the passenger. The passenger seatbelt light will also remain on after a passenger exits the vehicle as if someone is still seating there and needs to apply the seatbelt. Another fault of the OCS sensor. The car has been stationary and in motion when this occurs. This is a major safety issue. I have contacted Nissan and been told that my car is out of warranty and there is nothing they can do at this time. Other Rogue model years and Nissans in general have been recalled for this same issue yet nothing has been done for the 2013 Rogue. I was told that I need a new seat at a value of $2600-$3000. This is clearly a Nissan issue not a customer issue. It needs to be recalled and fixed. T.

58 Seat Belt problem of the 2017 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 12/25/2020

60 Seat Belt problem of the 2019 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 12/05/2020

I bought this vehicle from carmax on 12/05/2020. I never was able to take a test drive due to the pandemic. However, when I was driving home my sister took off her seat belt when we were in the parking lot in my apartments. I noticed the seatbelt didn't chime. So I took it back to the dealership the following day and they couldn't figure it out. They had me take it to a Nissan dealer and they ran the test thing on it and said that, that particular Nissan didn't come with the chime. So I ordered a manual for the car and it says it does. I think it's a big safety hazard. 80% of the time I forget to put on my seat belt when I first get in it. Why would they not add this to the 2019 Rogue sport? I originally bought the 2020 and it chimed.

61 Seat Belt problem of the 2008 Nissan Rogue

62 Seat Belt problem of the 2009 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 08/01/2020

The airbags will not deploy on the passenger side of the car because of an air bag seat fault in the 2009 Rogue cars. The 2008 and 2010 Rogue models had the same problem but a recall was enforced on it. Nissan admitted the 2009 seat sensor was made by the same company but it was a VIN problem. Found on your site affected VIN numbers all start with jn8as58 including mine. We are all having this dangerous problem of the air bags being shut off automatically. Nissan wants 2000 dollars to repair the problem. This problem also passes the safety part of a nys vehicle inspection. I though air bags were put in the car to save lives, but is not considered a safety issue them not deploying. Please push for a recall before someone dies.

63 Seat Belt problem of the 2017 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 07/19/2020

The rear middle seat lap belt locks while the vehicle is stationary, to disengage the locking of the belt, it has to be totally disconnected from the locking mechanism and totally released back to no passenger position for the lock to disengage. Incident. I had a child in the middle seat with booster seat with the seat belt engaged. When I reached my destination I could not get the child out of the seat belt because it was locked and there was no way to release the belt from the buckle because it was locked and the child almost suffocated because I could release the belt. There was no accident and no reason for the belt to become locked. I had to cut the seat belt with a knife to release the child.

66 Seat Belt problem of the 2009 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 04/26/2020

The airbag sensor is defective in the 2009 Nissan Rogue just like the 2008 and 2010 Rogue. The airbag weight sensor in the passenger seat stays on disabling the passenger airbag to whom even sits there. It also leaves a flashing airbag light in the dashboard. Nissan is ware of the problem and makes you pay them to diagnose the problem at an hourly rate then charge you over $2000 to replace the seat like they did for the 2008 and 2010 models in a recall.
