Feb 26th, 2024 I drove my car for the first time since having surgery on Jan. 11, 2024. I was going about 35 mph when extremely fast the car radio turned off it felt as if the engine was also turned off but within a blink of your eye the car was turned back on , all by itself, a tiny jerk, nothing major. I instantly looked at the temp gauge, made sure the key was in ignition correctly. There was nothing to signal a problem. The next day I didnt leave my home. On Feb. 28, 2024 I drove the car about 7 miles and it did this same glitch twice . Again all gauges read normal, I got out of the car this time popped the hood. No smoke , no burning smell or any smell at all. I checked the fluids, the belt, the battery connections everything was fine. Later that night a family member had someone try breaking into their home. Very upset I decided to leave my home and drive over to be if some comfort. I drove a total of 21 miles, as I was turning into the driveway the car fid it again however this time I had to get it in park and restart my car. Again no over heating no smoke no burning or fuel smells. I parked the car went inside. About 7 minutes later , definitely no more than 10 minutes, I heared a loud bang. I look outside and my entire motor was on fire and the tire had already blown!! in under ten minutes!! I tried putting the fire out with the water hose but 911 dispatch heard the second tire blow and repeatedly asked me to stop and go inside the home that fire fighters were on their way . I had let my insurance go since I had emergency surgery and was unable to drive or work and pay for it. I bought this car in Aug. 2020 and had to replace the cvt transmission Nov. 2022. And now no car. This could have been a tragedy if anyone had small children and had ran back inside because they forgot a coat or a book bag, please look into this for other customers safety. Firefighters said it was so burnt they couldn't begin to tell how or where the fire started.
I was driving down the road and all of a sudden the car started to sputter and I couldn't accelerate. Whenever I came to a stop it jerked after a minute of the rpm just revving, it finally shifted and lunged forward. I think the transmission went bad. Made it home parked it and I've been too concerned to drive it since.
Code p0101 came on, service bulletin from NHTSA. Gov was done. Car came back worst. Engine stalled in the middle of the street. It wouldn’t turn on, we had to push it to get it out of the street. Car will accelerate on its own when turn on. Sometimes car will accelerate when put on reverse on its own…. . Rpms will be at 7 and 8 when going 45mph. I notice this has been an issue for Nissan Sentras 2013-2015 based on research all over the internet. People have replaced thottle body, air mass flow sensor, break sensors, fuel intake, fuses. Vehicle isn’t safe to be driving in street, may caused an accident, even mechanic said I shouldn’t be driving the car because it isn’t safe. We already made a complaint with NHTSA, dmv for financial help and nothing. Help is really needed.
I called my home Nissan yesterday to get the information about my recalls on my car that I was not aware of after the state troopers helped me get my cat to a safe location. I was told that there are recalls on the car (and was never notified) I called where it was originally bought from a Nissan dealership and they gave me several recall codes as I was stranded in the freezing cold with my babies in the car. There are several recalls on my car (p1-1,p1-2, and p1-5,2, p1-8. ) the car went from 1rpm and shot up to 8, and down to 0 and the car would not drive after that unless it was less than 15mph. Anything over 15-20 the car would go from 1rpm back to 8, and shoot down to 0 and jerk the car forward and backwards. I was told it was only an 02 reprogramming recall from the location it was towed to, to a different Nissan dealership. However, I was given several codes of recall from the Nissan dealership that I purchased it from.
I'm driving on freeway an aproximate speed of 60' 65mph when my car begins to shake and losses power I hit the gas and doesn't respond I have cars all over me at higher speeds I'm trying to merge to slow lane but my car doesn't do anything I put on my emergency lights turn off my car reignite it turns on but it feels like it skips speeds shaky and I take it home at a speed of 20/ 40" I'm not able to take it higher the motor sounds forced.
Transmission problems that don't show up on diagnostic. . It shows up as air sensor problem. That could cost a lot of money if you listen to it. . . By keep trying to fix the air sensor that has no problem so you will go to auto machines and dealership and they don't know why and keep tell you to fix this or that. The real problem is the transmission. The system fails by not tell you the real problem and have a malfunctioned transmission with the the wiring inside.
Transmission.
I purchased this car in 2018 with 30k miles. In 2020 I had to replace the transmission. Now 2022 and I have to replace the transmission again. The car is decelerating and sputtering at times. But it’s not covered? how does a car have three transmissions within such a short time under 120k miles?.
Problem with transmission slipping.
Ever since I first purchased the car it wants to die and it seems like it doesn't want to go when I press the gas. It does this when I stop or when I press the gas.
It was 108 degree outside at 4:30 pm in the zip code of 89052. At a sloped intersection on a major street I stopped for the light. When the light turned green I tried to accelerate the car, it failed to accelerate, the break did not function, and the steering was difficult. The car stalled. The car started rolling downhill. I was able to turn the car to the next street ~20 yards down the intersection. The street had no slope and no other cars at the time. The car eventually stopped. But that was a dangerous incident and it could be much worse.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated while driving at 45 mph, when the air bag warning light illuminated from the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to local dealer who inspected the vehicle and found no issue and could turn off the warning light, however after a few days the warning light illuminated again. While driving at undisclosed speed, the contact was hit head on from another vehicle causing damage to front driver side of the vehicle. The air bag did not deploy. There was medical treatment at the scene. There was no one injured, however the contact was unconscious for a minute and had some pain in their back but did not go to the hospital. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed an independent body shop who did some repairs to front driver side of the vehicle, and also inspected the vehicle and found issue with air bags and oil leakage to the engine but was not able to repaired those issues. The vehicle was not fully repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage approximate was 210,000.
Was driving to work busy road car basically shut down to limp mode could not accelerate very close call two cars nearly side swiped me had to creep at 2mph to curb. Called tow truck took vehicle home where it sat proceeded to try and fix car overtime. Has never been the same since.
The vehicle hesitates significantly when acccelerating. . . Axts like it doesn't shift out right. . . . And bogs down when accelerating at normal speeds.
My car started jerking and all sudden when driving on the freeway it was like loosing its power and then it made a loud jerk also no warnings light came on and the car dealer put a new transmission in about 4 years ago.
Perdi mi trabajo porque el carro se descompuso.
When driving this car it constantly jerks when coming to a stop. It also jerks when I take my foot off the gas going down a hill. Last week when driving to work I put my foot on the break and the engine revved and the rpm needle flew up and got stuck. This should not be happening in a car that is just barely 7 years old. I am also having acceleration problems so I get to endure the fear of not knowing if the car will go when I hit the gas. I've taken it to a mechanic and was told the transmission in this car is the worst transmission ever made. Wonderful news. So now my choices are to pay thousands of dollars, on top of the already thousands of dollars I am still paying on the car, to get a new transmission or be terrified everytime I get behind the wheel of my car that I won't make it to my destination. You have made a vehicle that is of poor quality and not worth the money you are expecting people to pay. Your car is unsafe for the road. I pray that I am capable enough to be able to handle the clearly inevitable mechanical issues that will undoubtedly happen as I continue to drive this car. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
The car goes into a limp mode. Cannot accelerate past 20mph. Mechanic determined my transmission is bad. Quoted $4,000 to repair. Car has 87, 511 miles. Should not be an issue. I was on the highway and almost got hit by other cars.
While driving on the freeway, the car jerks as if struggling to switch gears. Often when I press the gas, the car fails to go faster and it sounds as if I am just trying the engine.
Transmission shifting on its own. Accelerate and decelerate on its own. Gear not fully grabbing.
The rpm in my Nissan Sentra 2013 started to fluctuate while driving it wasn't doing it too much at first but now it does it continuously and it's so annoying when I'm driving I took it to my nearest Nissan location and they said it was the transmission and that I have to get it replaced which sucks because it just reached 100k miles I have always had great maintenance with it I don't want to pay almost 5k for a new transmission when the mileage isn't even super high, I did my research and apparently there's a lot of other people that have the same problem with the exact model and make and with newer Nissans too with lower mileage so it's just not fair I love my Nissan Sentra but this is just not fair I really believe there needs to be a recall for these cars with horrible transmission defects. Please please Nissan look into this.
Takata recall when I first step in the car to take a test drove, it seem like it was ok . It didn't have any problem but when I drove it home , on the highway, the car started to shake and it took about 60 second for the gear to switch. The car seen as thought it was overheating when I haven't even drove it long . I took it back to the dealer and he said “ I was covered with warranty “ and that “I wouldn't have to worry about paying anything. ” he gave me a loan car and have been extended it for the last two months because my car still haven't been fix yet . I also found that my car was not covered under warranty by the warrant business because they said the car wasn't in good condition when I brought it. They denied the request of fixing the transmission. The dealer refuses to give me another temp tag and told me to leave him premises. I have been paying on a car that I have not had for two months and I believe that this is an unjust situation. I hope that the other customers aren’t getting treated like myself .
tamara recall I was driving when all of the sudden my car started jerking and the speedometer was racing up and down, I went to pull out on the highway and was nearly hit by a semi truck because the car had lost power and wouldn't go over 5 mph. The truck had to swerve to keep from hitting me. This car has a faulty cvt transmission problem is very dangerous and needs to be off the road. It happens with no warning. I called the dealership and they said it would cost $5000 to fix that I don't have. And I still owe $10,000 on the car.
On January 17, 2019, our 2013 Nissan Sentra died in the middle of rush hour traffic and put my husband at risk for being hit. My husband was on baseline road in phoenix, close to I-10 freeway. Car died near driveway entrance by restaurant. Tow truck driver said it's cvt transmission. So did our repair person, interstate auto. The code at Nissan also said it's a faulty cvt transmission, which they know about. There is extended warranty to 120,000 for some vehicles, but they conveniently said our VIN is not covered. We are at 119,000, so that's convenient for Nissan. We then were referred to Nissan consumer affairs and they said there's nothing they can do. They also said they had no idea we were the owners of the vehicle. We bought it from tempe auto nation in may of 2014, but it's a 2013 preowned certified. They told us the warranty was increased to 100,000 because of that, but they never let us know. They also said there is a recall from 2016, but we never got anything. Again, Nissan said they did not know we were the owners until 1/21/19. That's a lie! we've had the car serviced. It was bought from tempe auto nation with 4400 miles on it. They have our info in computer system, but now can claim they did not know. We were the only ones that brought it in, no one else. So now the car is not drivable because of faulty cvt transmission that put my husband and I at safety risk every time he/we drove it. Especially not notifying us about passenger recall since 2016. Please let me know who we need to talk to next. Worst customer service ever! caught in several lies! I'm attaching document that they claim they've never heard of or seen before - claim they don't know anything about faulty cvt transmissions. Asked where I got my info & I showed them. Also, you may google it - all over the place.
The transmission failed at 60,962 the car started started shaking, jerking and loosing speed and then it cutting off at the stop light. The car cut off on me getting off the highway I was at a light & then I was unable to proceed with traffic. I turned on the hazard lights & turned the heat off waited for the car to maybe cool off I really didn't know what was wrong & then I was able to restart the car & drive home I took the car to the Nissan dealer ship twice & they told me it was the airflow filter after they claimed it was fixed it happened again I contacted Nissan again and they finally admitted that this car has a bad transmission. There is no way a car under 100k miles should have problems with the transmission I bought this car @ 26k in 2016. Now is costing me over 3,000. 00 to fix my car . Nissan is well aware of the transmission issue on these cars and instead of recalling them they continue to allow these cars to be sold over & over again again. I want a complete investigation into the on going problems with the 2013 Nissan Sentra's. I have lost power on the highway as well as main roads stopped at lights holding up traffic in dangerous situations I had this car towed in total of 5 times in less than 6 months.
I was stopped at a red light waiting and suddenly my car turned off. . It turned right on. This happened three times in the last 4 months.
Transmission failed at 85,000. I started having problems gaining speed; then the car would start shaking, jerking and pausing. I was driving on highway 152 on my way to san jose, CA when my car started losing speed and shaking. I thought I was going to get stuck in the middle of the road. It was terrifying. I made it to work and started doing research about what my car was doing and find out it was the transmission. I took it to the dealer and they confirmed it was the transmission. Nissan tech. Told me to call Nissan USA, so I did. They gave a case number and they communicated with the dealer to confirm the transmission had failed. Nissan agreed to pay part of the cost to repair transmission even though I told them that it was too soon for the transmission to fail. Nissan is charging me 2000 to fix it. I honestly think Nissan should start repairing all transmissions without a cost for customers. They know their transmissions have defects. I will try to sell my car as soon as possible as they are only going to give me one year warranty.
I purchased my 2013 Nissan Sentra new from the dealership in March 2013. My transmission was completely replaced within 1. 5 years (28k miles) from purchase due to manufacturer defect. The problem is reoccurring about 3. 5 years (77k miles). Symptoms are similar to most reporting I've seen online. Acceleration delays, car sputters, metal on metal sounds. My car came to a complete at an intersection with oncoming traffic coming from both directions. Given my first transmission was found to manufacturer defect my 2nd transmission which is identically failing needs to be addressed same which it is not.
So many issues not even sure what it is. Car will fail to shift into gear and constant redline, very dangerous when getting on the highway. Car will randomly get no gas to accelerate until I turn the car off and then on again. Transmission slips at 80k miles. Or perceived to be slipping, car will drop rpm and then rise quickly jerking the car around. Going down hill the car will quickly rise rpm over and over and the car will uncontrollably jerk very noticeably.
While driving the car will suddenly stop accelerating, causing you to have to let off and press down again on the accelerator. This occurs during driving and after turns.
Transmisssion is not shifting correctly it sticks and stop. Our car has. 44,000 miles on it. It sometime will not go forward.
When I press the pedal gas the car doesnt work well . I cant drive higher than 40 miles because the transmition doesnt running well and sometime I have to pull over the car cause it doesnt even run 20 mile . Eache stops signal I do is even worst. All this notes are in the city streets I cant drive on a highway because it doesnt run over 40 miles.
Bought this car from dealer in August 2018 only 6 months ago I heard a noise but the dealer said that all the cars make that noise the noise has gotten worse and I know it is a rod bearing another mechanic confirmed that but dealer refuses to even drop the oil pan and check the rod bearings noise is getting worse brad fenton motors in ardmore oklahoma is where I took it too. The noise is worse when engine is cold and gets less noisy when warm. I signed to cancel my warranty but the never finished it hoping for a resolution to this problem.
(kh no dealer info) tl the contact owns a 2013 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced a complete loss of power while driving 35 mph. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was towed to 839 warren dr, warner robins, GA where it was diagnosed that the cvt was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000.
Car has only 13,987 original miles. While accelerating from a stop, accelerating from any speed, vehicle loses all throttle control / response, idle may hang at 3200 suddenly during acceleration then take 30-40 seconds to drop back to normal. You may or may not have warning lights and/or fault codes set. Transmission shifting is erratic or none at all (stays in high gear). Fault codes if any are most likely electrical circuit, low voltage type codes. Warning lights may be traction / stability control, check engine, abs in any combination. The fault is moisture (water / condensation) collecting in a tail light and shorting the circuit which is connected to the engine / transmission electronics. The tail light may not have any sign of damage / cracks / holes but the water presence causing the short can damage or destroy the transmission if not corrected not to mention the possibility of an accident due to a stuck throttle at 3200 rpm in traffic. Nissan is aware of this issue but has no recall at this time (waiting for the accidents I guess).
