Front Air Bag Sensor Control problems of the 2013 Nissan Sentra

Air bag control unit is not operating. Ocs sensor is not operating.

The dash sensor light that indicates when the passenger airbag is deactivated often lights up while adult passengers are in the seat. Typically it takes 15 minutes of driving to reset the light. This happens regularly.

Was a recall on passenger airbag sensor and I had that done but sometimes the light staying on when someone in the seat . And yes theyre over 100 lbs . I have taken pictures but the dealership will not look at them .

The OCS does not detect an adult occupant in the passenger seat, the passenger air bag is deactivated. Failure of the passenger airbag to deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk injury or death to the passenger. This issue has been escalated to the elk grove Nissan repair center multiple times. Elk grove informed me they reset the programming of the sensor and uninstalled and installed the seat to try to resolve the issue. The issue continues to occur especially when the vehicle has been parked on a non level surface for a period of time.

The contact contacted the dealer who reprogrammed the computer and replaced the sensors under the seat. The contact stated that the problem recurred five times after the repairs were made. The contact also stated that the seat belt light was illuminated while no one was seated on the passenger seat. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 800. An.

The passengers seat air bag sensor does not recognize when there is someone sitting and will not activate. I took the car to service and the guy told me that maybe it was because I was too skinny and maybe the sensor did not recognize that there was someone is actually sitting in the passengers seat. It is very dangerous because in a car accident it will probably not work. The car also have an annoying noise each time I hit the breaks in the back right side of the car. It have been 3 months and 3 service visits and several calls to service, distributors, etc. And I have not received an answer on how or when they will fix the problem. They told me to keep using the car because it was not a safety issue, but the brakes have gone blank twice making me very nervous of using the car. Still no answer from Nissan.
