Cvt code p17f4 judder I have not drove 356 miles in the last 2 days.
There is a transmission issue with my vehicle. It has been present since I first obtained the vehicle. Generally, the gears tend to “slip” or stutter, creating a stalling motion upon accelerating. It has stayed the same relatively up until recently when it would not stay in gear or switch gears and I could not accelerate at all. This is very scary because it could lead to an accident, a crash, or not being able to move my vehicle to a safe place. Upon research, I have seen many other Nissan Sentra 2016 owners experience the same issue, and Nissan continues to do nothing about it. I had my personal mechanic look at it and he confirmed it was the transmission and it would need to be replaced. I spoke with Nissan and they said there is no active recall on my specific vehicle, even though the transmission is the original transmission. They quoted me at almost $9000. 00 to get a replacement. There were no lights present in my vehicle indicating there was an issue, and as stated previously, I experienced the stuttering issue up until the transmission gave out completely. This has been occurring since I got the vehicle in 2021.
Transmission failed/malfunctioned. While driving the car it started to slow down and I couldn't accelerate any longer causing the car to come to a complete stop in the middle of the road. I had my two young children with me. If a car would have been too close behind me they could have rear ended me and caused harm to myself or my children. I have not taken the vehicle to the dealership since it is over 30 miles away and is undrivable and I am unable to afford a tow truck at this time. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone other than my husband. There were not warning messages prior and the only other issues I had with the car prior is problems with the air conditioner not work and making a vibrating sound.
While driving car shuts down in traffic!!! cuts off at stop signs!!! cuts off driving up steep roads!!! jerks and jolts forward!!! speeds up and down while gauges fluster!!!! the car slips in and out of gear!!! my life has been in danger since I bought this car… I need the situation taken care of this car is a dear trap and a severe safety hazard!!! this car in whole was recalled I don’t know why Nissan missed my VIN number….
While I was driving on [xxx] , a piece of ampact tap metal (the "c" piece) hit my front part of the car, it went on the lower rack of my car, and it got trapped in the car. This piece fell from a truck that was loaded, I got scared but kept driving, the car seems fine, but I couldn't see the truck information plaque. This was on [xxx] between [xxx]. Close to miller factory. The piece measure 5 x 3. 5 inches and weights around 1-1. 5 pounds. I would like to know if there is any recorded traffic tape on the [xxx] cameras. The vehicle just slows down and will not go while driving it. This could cause wrecks while driving and car just slows down and won't go. This has a cvt transmission that needs to be recalled. Nissan dealers and other automotive shops have said the cvt transmission in Nissans need to be recalled.
The problem with the car is that after a stop sign, the car no longer moved forward, it stayed in the road, this was blocking traffic and it was dangerous to get out of the car, the tow truck arrived to move it from the road, several mechanics examined it and said that the transmission was damaged, the car has only traveled 78,140 miles.
This car has the cvt, and it is worthless. I have a 2016 Nissan Sentra just hit over 100,000 miles, and I already had to replace the transmission in February 2024, and it just went again and needs replaced. That’s three months. It might have a warranty, but this is not worth my time. There is no way this should’ve went in three months and the first month, I did not drive because I had knee replacement. Nissan is not helpful at all about this issue and we have put over $4,000 into this, and that does not count utilizing a car while the cars in the shop or anything else.
I read all of the 214 complaints by consumers who have had the same scary incident occur to them. I have completed all of my recalls and for the life of the vehicle I have had the maintenance plan. The car has been well taken car of. After reading the complaints, I also have had an incident where the vehicles rpm's increased for no reason almost causing me to hit another vehicle in front of me and I quickly swerved to miss the vehicle. Then as quick as this happened the car just slowed down to a complete stop. I tried putting my foot on the accelerator and the vehicle would not move. I then pressed the accelerator all the way down to the floor of the vehicle. Nothing. This halting stop almost caused several vehicles to get in an accident. This is a serious problem and Nissan needs to rectify this horrible safety issue and fix all of our cars. I am going to talk to a lawyer. This is going to kill someone or cause serious harm to others.
The check engine light keeps coming on and it gives the code for a mass airflow sensor. I went to the mechanic, had them clean it for $126 and one year later my check engine light is back on with the same code. Online there are many people with the same vehicle stating they have the part replaced, and the same thing happens again with a check engine, light coming on giving that code. It states online if the car is dangerous to drive with this code being the mass air flow sensor. This needs to be a recall because this part is very expensive with labor ($4-$600) for this problem to keep re-occurring. Nissan needs to do something about this issue!!!!!.
Check engine light is on. Rpm is high when driving less than 40 mph. Low mileage transmission problems. I drive a 2016 Nissan Sentra sv with less that 60,000 miles.
Transmission was failing without any check engine light on-> right passenger side tire would skid before transmission was replaced -> new transmission replaced still has issues shifting at times. Inspection was done by Nissan 104th in northglenn. ( sends out a threat to public by transmission not shifting gears properly to move or get out of way of other cars going faster speeds) seat belt restraint system-> dashboard displays little person but when shifting from p to d and going above 40 the seatbelt icon doesn’t blink or make any sound just is stuck on until seatbelt is put in then it goes away( this displays a safety concern for self and others).
One of the gaskets or public seals on the vehicle failed. When the adhesive that holds this gasket in place fails, it reduces the integrity of the windshield. When it initially failed, it was hitting both the windshield and passenger side window as I drove on the highway. I was advised that the windshield does not have it full level of protection without this seal. Consumer affairs and the dealers have been unable to provide an answer as to why the gasket fails especially so early in the life of the car. It is a 2016 with less than 80,000. The dealer previously repaired the seal in 2018 and it failed again coming out of its place between the windshield and the hood. I had no warning as the seal came out of place. I began to hear the plastic gasket slap against the windshield as I drove down the highway. The dealer and manufacturer refused to repair it after inspecting while it was in for service. They indicated it was out of warranty but provided no reason why the gasket failed. My insurance company ultimately made arrangements with a glass shop because the gasket that forms the seal cannot be replaced without replacing the windshield. I had to pay the deductible for the repair to prevent further damage to my windshield and or passenger side window.
I have been having this problem for years and no one has been able to tell me what is wrong or how I can fix it. My rpm’s will fluctuate rapidly and I am unable to accelerate and it feels jumpy. It stopped accelerating completely one time on the freeway. I was only able to get back up to 25mph, it was so scary. Luckily I was close to an exit and got off. Replaced mass air flow sensor and it started working normally for about a month. It has not completely stopped working since then but the rpm’s still fluctuate most days. I feel scared it will give out one day or cause me to crash. I have taken it to different mechanics as well as the Nissan dealership and they all say nothing seems wrong. They recommend a transmission drain and fill, which I have done. The problem still persists. I see this is a common issue with others as well. It needs to be addressed as it is extremely scary and puts peoples lives at risk.
Dealership will only repair stop light, but there are other problems such as no start,mil illumination. Dealer want me to pay for a dia. Test in order to fix the issues.
The transmission has failed and I am unable to drive forward. This is the second transmission to fail in two years.
The component that malfunctioned is the gearshift. The vehicle gets stuck in the park position and the gear shift does not want to release the vehicle from this position. My safety is put at risk because of the vehicle malfunction. The dealer was informed of the problem. Last week the service technician said they would service the malfunction. However, they refused to provide the service to the gearshift instead stating the gearshift worked "well". Dealer further stated they would recommend replacing the gear shift if the malfunctioning continued to reoccur. I asked the dealer to replace the gear shift. The dealer refused to service the malfunction. The dealer passed the vehicle through state inspection. There are no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to the malfunction occurring. However, the dealer replaced a light bulb during the inspection procedure. The malfunction started to occur in September 2021. The dealer was notified of the malfunction at that time and also refused to service upon notification.
My car started jerking while driving. After driving for a while, it would suddenly go into lymph mode while being operated. This was very unsafe while I was pregnant. I called Nissan and they said I couldn't be helped because I was passed 84,000 miles. However I looked online and it said something totally different. I'm still making payments, and now have to come out of pocket for a transmission.
Brought this 2016 in April of 2020, after I initially drove it , my daughter took over driving it since I'm a disabled veteran. My fiance drove the vehicle in June and realized it was a different feeling with the car . Took it to the shop and they replaced two front tires and perform a tune up . My young daughter pick it from the shop and went off to college in baltimore,maryland. She returned to palm beach in September . After she got home , the car just cut off in the middle of the road unexpected. My fiance took the car for a drive and notice it doing the same thing. Took it to two shops who informed me two different diagnosis. , one being the transmission. They inform me to contact Nissan who in turn told me it was the transmission. We had to take the vehicle to a different location at which time on 9/13/2020 , my daughter had a accident due to the fact the car couldn't pick up speed fast enough to merge into the next lane . I'm happy my daughter wasn't hurt but devastated that this car , 4 years old in my possession about 4 months needs a transmission repair. I didn't expect this from a vehicle that I still have 3 years remaining and from Nissan which I thought was a reliable company.

Car started struggling when going at higher speed above 60 mph especifically when going uphill even if its a small hill on the freeway also when going down hill seems like something is also wrong with the brakes and makes weird sounds almost like the brakes dont want to stop the car took to a mechanic but no warnings come up and seems to be transmission which I did get a notice through mail that their could be possible recall for transmission. The car is in motion when this all happens but as soon as I turn it on it starts making a weird sounds that is out of the ordinary.
There is clicking noise that is coming from the right rear side when slow down or coming to stop after braking. I purchased the vehicle in February and noticed it then. Was told by Nissan of mobile in mobile al that they could not hear it and everything was fine. I kept telling everytime they service my car that the noise was getting louder. Long story short they told me to go back to ohio where the car came since it look like the but on aftermarket drum on the car. They did not help me at all. But I seen other complaints online regarding they had to get the c-clip fix and the noise went away.
The light for passenger airbag went on and doesn't go off.
The push button start is very unreliable I have had to have aaa twice for starting problems and towed twice to the Nissan service garqage I thik this is a serious saftey issue I am not comfortable going anyplace and knowing that it may not start after parked it has this problem in parking lots and home garage I am 82 years old and all I wanted was a small dependable care this is not.
The car is not accelerating properly. I feel unsafe and uncomfortable driving it on the roads and merging into the highways but that's the only vehicle I have at the moment to get to work, take the kids to school and run errands.
I am having issues with my check engine light going in and out. I received the code p0101. But the mechanic checked and said there's nothing wrong with my mass air flow sensor nor trottle body. He said that everything was fine so he reset the car. A few months later the check engine light came back on. Went off a few months later. I have been going through this for a year now. I have also found a forum where several people are having issues with this same code p0101. And their mechanics are giving them the same answers. There needs to be a recall on Nissan Sentras for this reason.
Car stalled to a complete stop in the middle of a highway onramp. Car starts but does not get into gear and dies. May be similar to Nissan Sentra 2016 issue with engine wiring harness. But my car a Nissan Sentra s 2016 is not included in the recall.
Car not even 24 hours old, the car would not start with pushing the starter button, the rmp would be at 3 at idleing. March 2019, engine light came on, and went to the dealer. Sensor in fuel pump had to be replaced, few weeks power train problems. In the middle of intersection of route 45 in greys lake, IL. The car would not shift out of first gear and almost dies in the middle of intersection. Shut the car off, the car would run normal for awhile, then the shifting gears and bogging would start all over again. A week latter the engine is making a whinning noise.
As I approached a red light my vehicle was stoped, but when the light turned green the vehicle would not move, even after stepping on the gas. It began moving after a couple tries of turning it on and off, but when I was on the highway it would slow down out of no where. This can be very dangerous, due to cars being behind me, and can cause an accident. Not alot of people want to put in the claim, but while doing my research there have been plenty of complaints on different websites. I've only had this car for 3 years. The vehicle would get maintenanced when needed. There needs to be a recall on these transmissions, because there has been faulty transmission for other cvt Nissans.
While driving on the interstate/highway going approximately over 60 mph the car makes a loud noise and pulls hard to the left and right. The car is only two years old 47,000 miles on it. It has made this noise and done it since it was bought and is getting worse. It pulled the car off the road while driving down interstate 59. The brakes squeal when mashed even though brake pads,rotors are good as well as brake fluid. It will make a popping noise while trying to shift it into gear as well. The vehicle has never been wrecked. The car jolts to the right and left while driving and is difficult to maintain control even after brand new tires were put on, balanced, rotated and aligned.
I purchased my car in 2016 with only 10 miles on it from me driving off with it. I've replaced the battery twice. Ive had my transmission replaced which they didn't want to replace due to low noises it made if I drove over 10 mph. They refused to fix my car for three months because the check engine light wouldn't cut on from the noises it made. Now my car cranks but doesn't start. All maintenance is up to date and my car has 55,000 even today! the battery is now and charged. All cables are tight. I have to get it towed to Nissan to have it inspected.
Loud wind sound when driving passes 55mph on the freeway both driver and passenger side makes loud howling sound as the wind hits and crosses through both sides of my vehicle. The wind howling sound is really loud when my car is driving against the wind on the freeway, I believe that all of the rubber lining on driver and passenger side needs to be repaired and resealed correctly professionally.
Wind noise from a-pillar at highway speeds with heavy head wind or cross wind that sounds as if the car is howling or honking above 55 mph.
After purchasing my car 3 months ago with 47,000 miles, I was driving the vehicle at night with my family going 35 mph, straight on a city street with moderate traffic when the accelerator and brake started to harden and the steering wheel started to lock up. The dashboard lights started appearing one after another. I just missed a car next to me trying to get off the road. I pulled in a parking lot and the car stopped completely, the steering wheel, brake, accelerator, everything stopped responding. I assumed it may be a bad battery, so I got a jump, but after 20 minutes, the car refused to turnover. The lights still worked, there wasn't any dimming. The mechanic spent most of the following day trying to figure out what was wrong, still being diagnosed. I've seen the same problem noted for Nissan Sentra and other models, it's a scary thing for a vehicle to completely stop on a road or highway, if the parking lot wasn't nearby, my family and I would have been sitting ducks to oncoming traffic or strained on a highway. This is by the most careless vehicle issue that will eventually result in a terrible accident and should be addressed immediately. I'm concerned this issue hasn't been resolved or recalled.
When I come out my house in the morning, I have found my trunk open so far more than 5 times and at times when I come out of a store the trunk is open. It's always when the vehicle in park. I don't feel safe with this happen all the time and I feel like one day it's going to happen and someone go in my trunk and car and take whatever they want. The doors or the alarm never open or goes off on it own but the trunk does. I don't know if it's the key fob or what.
Ongoing and significant acceleration problems; most notable when attempting to accelerate from a stopped position to 40-45 mph. The rpms will rev between 5-6 (but still struggle). Once the car hits around 40mph there are less problems. Occasionally feel that the car is stalling out at higher speeds (ie on highway). Problems are intermittent, most notable when car is cold. Reported to dealership, brought in for check. They could not identify any related �computer codes� - feel I am being ignored despite major safety issue.

When you are driving on the highway my car makes wind noise from the passenger side door.
I purchased my Nissan 12/27/2016 with 0 miles on it. I have since found out that the car was in a recall status since 5/2016. It is now only 1/18/2017 but these safety concerns were never mentioned at the time of purchase. As of yet I haven't had a problem but I have only owned the car 3 weeks; but I think the bigger issue is a large dealership knowingly selling faulty cars to unsuspecting buyers.
Car feels like the engine starts and stops continuously and very fast when on highway going 60-75 mph, and happens more often with cruise control on. The speedometer bounces around like crazy from zero to bouncing pass my speed I'm driving at. This has been going on since I bought the car to currently. I pull over and let it rest, I didn't see complaints in past about this from others until now, so I thought I now must report as well. I didn't know if it was engine, speedometer, fuel related, gas pedal or what, but now realizing it's engine issues due to a recall notice I got in the mail and a civil lawsuit action is currently in the process.
