Equipment problem #1

I was trapped in my vehicle when my door would not open. I attempted to unlock the door with the key fab, manually, and from reaching through the window and trying from the outside. Despite the lock mechanism showing that the door was unlocked, the door would not open. I attempted to restart the vehicle, but that did not help. I tried several combinations of tactics with no success. I finally had to climb out of the passenger side. I took the car to the dealer where I was informed that the door actuators on both driver's side doors were faulty. All I can think of is what would have happened if the car was on fire or in rising water, and worse, if my children were in the back seat. Or what if I was disabled in some way or elderly? this situation could've been much, much worse. When I contacted Nissan consumer affairs, they refused to take any responsibility for this dangerous design flaw, and I was stuck with a $1500 repair. I hope they are urged to issue a recall.

Equipment problem #2

The aeb - automatic emergency braking sensors are faulty. The system randomly brakes while I am driving with nothing in the cars path to set it off. It happens frequently and without any seemingly reason. It has become very nerve wracking and potentially dangerous. I brought this issue up to a mechanic at the Nissan repair shop and his response was that the car is no longer under warranty and that I am responsible for what would be a costly repair. He suggested taking the car through the car wash frequently. I constantly wipe the front window where the sensors are located, I find this solution to be unacceptable.

Equipment problem #3

Sometimes the driver door doesn’t lock even after clicking the lock button either on the key fob or on the actual door. The car is five years old and has 60,000 miles on it.

Equipment problem #4

Back up camera not working.

Equipment problem #5

The starter and electric problems. The vehicle has been serviced 5 or 6 times each with the problem the issues has not been resolved. Is there a recall in any of the said problems above. No, incident occurred, it is a repair failure. Problem has not been fixed and diver has been back and forth to the dealer over and over with same problem, the diver wants to know if there are recalls on ignition or starter problems and electrical problems. Said vehicle is not in running condition, it is at the dealers as now.

Equipment problem #6

The back up camera stops working for awhile. Sensors work but no rear camera pops up when in reverse.

Equipment problem #7

Rear drivers side door doesn't unlock.

Equipment problem #8

Every since I got this $22,000 car, my backup camera has not worked. When I back up, the screen turns blue. First time I went to the Nissan dealership they said there was a recall on the camera but because the one time it works, its at the dealership so they didn’t fix it. I bring it back a few months later to get the suspension recalled fix and tell them my back up camera doesn’t work. I have photo evidence showing everytime it doesn’t work and now they said there’s no recall it’ll cost $300 to replace. I’ve had this car for 3 months. I wouldn’t recommend anyone buy a car from Nissan.

Equipment problem #9

My front passenger tire rod on my Nissan broke while backing it up out of my driveway in gillette,wy. So I contacted the Nissan dealer in casper,wy and they informed it was on a recall. So I had quality auto in gillette, wy take it to vista Nissan in casper, wy and they informed me that they could not fix it because quality auto welded the tire rod together to get it on to the trailer.

Equipment problem #10

I bought my car in June 2023 and I’ve been having problems with my steering wheel. The dealership's goal was to fix that issue. They said they fixed it, but I’ve been having the same issue since I bought the car. They had me pay a $500 deductible to fix the same issue since I bought it. Today is August 15, and they haven’t offered to fix it. I believe they are taking advantage of the fact that I’m young, and I'm very aware that I’m paying $27,000 for this car. Please help me I believe the previous owner lied about what was wrong with the car an I was sold a car with unseen issue that the dealership fails to disclose to me, I believe fail to hold there end of the contract.

Equipment problem #11

I bought my car in june23 I’ve been having a lot of issue with the car dealership fail uphold there end of the contract.

Equipment problem #12

There has been numerous battery drains, can't charge phone without draining battery. I got and error code p062f internal control module eeprom. Error. And a battery power supply error code.

Equipment problem #13

Rear door no longer wants to lock automatically.

Equipment problem #14

Issues with the door. . My key can’t open the driver door with the unlock button. . Also back door has same issue . . Had it fixed on passenger door when I have warranty but issue keeps happening . .

Equipment problem #15

I started hearing a swishing noise like water, I didn't think anything of it till I opened my back driver side door and heard the swishing again. My friend lifted the weather stripping on bottom of door and a-lot of water came gushing out. It had rained alot that year. This could cause electrical issues and body rot. Also my car wont start due to not recognizing the fob. I have to disconnect battery snd reconnect to start my car from time to time.

Equipment problem #16

Recently I discovered that it's impossible for the home mechanic to check the transmission fluid level for the Nissan Sentra 2020 (and newer). No, I'm not talking about the removal of the transmission dipstick. What I am talking about is the fact that Nissan has removed the overflow tube that is found within the drain plug housing. The overflow tube existed for Sentras up until 2019. However, it was removed in 2020. Without the overflow tube it is impossible to verify that the transmission fluid level is correct. I contacted two local Nissan dealerships and they confirmed that the only way to check the transmission fluid level was to visit their service department. This is outrageous and unethical. When people are unable to maintain their transmissions properly, there will certainly be transmission breakdowns and accidents related to transmission problems. Nissan should be held accountable.

Equipment problem #17

Drivers side door will not open at all on cold mornings. All other doors work properly. Locking mechanism won’t unlock door, manually or with key fob. Classic Nissan of sanford and Nissan corporate were made aware and state there is nothing they can or will do. They were informed around 15k miles and said “wait for it to warm up. ” but if I have my emergency I literally cannot get out of the car unless I crawl over the center console, which is really hard to do as I have a disability!!! if I were to be in an emergency I would not be able to get out of the car easily and would probably die. I cannot get into the car in the colder mornings but only that door, so it’s not a lock or motor issue.

Equipment problem #18

Backup camera failed. The camera went blank and I was unable to view behind me which could lead to potential injuring of myself or others. Dealer inspected and did not fix.

Equipment problem #19

When I shift the car into reverse, the screen turns blue, rendering the camera completely unusable. This malfunction is extremely concerning as it creates a significant hazard when backing up, particularly in areas with pedestrians or other vehicles. The inability to see what is behind my car puts me and others at serious risk. Without a functioning rearview camera, I am at risk of accidentally hitting a person, especially a child or someone walking behind my vehicle. The blue screen also makes it difficult to judge the proximity of other cars or obstacles, increasing the likelihood of a collision. There was a recall issued for this exact issue in September 2023. My car was inspected by a Nissan dealership as part of this recall; however, no parts were replaced during the inspection. Despite the recall service, the issue with the rearview camera persists and is causing considerable concern. Given the severity of the problem and its potential to cause accidents, I believe the recall was insufficient in addressing the underlying issue. Simply inspecting the camera without replacing any parts has not resolved the problem.

Equipment problem #20

Car was in a hit and run accident on June 29, 2023 where another car slid up the whole passenger side of the car damaging the front side so car could not be driven. Car was repaired, given back but not performing correctly. Car was taken back and told unsafe to drive. They did more repairs on the car, gave it back and car still not performing correctly. Car taken back for a second time, deemed unsafe, repaired, and given back. Car still didn't seem to be right. On October 21, 2023 daughter was on the way to Nissan to check out a recall on tie rods because we just got a letter in the mail about them. The car started to vibrate. My daughter tried to pull off the road but the steering would not allow her to control the car. The car ended up in the middle median. She was cut out of the car and has hand injuries. Allstate is working on new claim. Car is total loss. Claim # 0733758866 claim agent :nina fandaco.

Equipment problem #21

The rear back up camera had a recall on my car. I took it to the dealer to have it replaced. The camera would sometimes work and sometimes not work. When it wasn’t working the screen would either remain black or royal blue showing no picture at all. When I arrived at the wesley chapel Nissan in wesley chapel FL I explained to them that the camera does not work correctly and that I had been notified by mail that my car had a recall with the camera according to my VIN number. The dealership looked at my car and stated that the camera was working fine. They then closed the case and marked it as being repaired. The camera on my car had never been fixed. I took my car to them at a later date for an oil change and explained the camera was not working. They once again said they would look at it. They never fixed the camera just said nothing was wrong with it. A few more months had passed and the camera was not working at all. I called to ask if they’d look at it again and they told me there would be a charge. I didn’t take the car in because I didn’t feel I should have to pay a diagnostic fee for something they should have fixed prior. I brought my car to them once again for an oil change and asked them to look at it again. This time they said the camera was not working but they couldn’t do anything because the case was closed. I called Nissan motor company, they opened a case and said they would look into it and I would have to apply for financing. At this point I was livid. They ended up stating that I would have to pay for half of the repairs for something that was recalled. I called the local dealer today to see if there was anything else that could be done because they are the ones who closed the recall. They said they couldn’t help me. I am driving a 2020 Nissan Sentra. There was never any warning lamps stating the camera was failing. The screen goes to blue when put in reverse.

Equipment problem #22

Doors do not lock. Doors on drivers' side does not lock on multiple 2020 Nissan Sentra's. Actuators are failing on the doors and causing them to not lock with remote or without remote and making it easily for someone to steal or damage vehicle. Vehicle has been inspected by Nissan and are trying to get $300 to diagnose the issue and then another $600-$1,000 to fix the issue. Requesting this be a recall item for 2020 Nissan Sentra.

Equipment problem #23

On may 23, 2023, I have parked to pick up a grocery order. I did not shut the engine off. Once the order was loaded, I put my car in reverse. The car started to back up, and then completely shut off. An error message related to the key fob came on. I was able to successfully start the car again. I currently have the car at hyman brothers Nissan. Their diagnostics indicate a failure, however, they are unable to determine the source of the failure at this time. My main concern is having this happen again while driving with my 2 year old in his car seat. I previously reported an issue with my back up camera going blue. They have also received a code for that, but again, are unable to determine the source. The dealership's number is 804-378-0266, and jimi is the service advisor. Since the vehicle is in their possession, I do not have documentation at this time.

Equipment problem #24

Door locks stopped working. First the back two locks, then the driver lock and now none of my door locks lock or unlock on their own. I have read around and many people have this issue. I fear my car will be broken into because the locks won't work. This is unsafe and inconvenient. Please help us this is a widespread issue.

Equipment problem #25

As we were driving on the highway we noticed a sound in the engine very rubbery. The car started to jerk and we were able to move the car to the side of the road. We were not able to easily drive the car anymore and had to get it towed. The engine and brake light turned on at the same time. Once you took it to the dealership they said that the bolt on the alternator pulley was loose and that's why our belt came off. They said they have never experienced this before and if this is a common problem in these cars that has not been reported properly we would like to report it now.

Equipment problem #26

Unknown while switching gears from park to drive and any other gears my gear shift lifts out of the column. Apparently the pins become loose that hold the gear shift together. This causes the gear shift to completely come out of the gear column and may cause you to accidentally shift gears if the shift is hit by and other objects.

Equipment problem #27

My cars door locks are failing prematurely. The front drivers door stopped work entirely even with a key and when I looked the issue up online I found that a number of other people are having the same issue with their 2020 Sentras as well. The door locks started failing within 2 years of owning the car. This car hasn't even hit 100,000 miles yet.

Equipment problem #28

The radio will turn it volume up own its own and the doors will lock you in the car and sometimes will not let you unlock the doors from inside or outside.

Equipment problem #29

Locks on doors would not work with remote, and to get out keys to get fixed. When to Nissan 2 times for them to fix. Dark at night could not get in car safely. No warning signs windows would not go up or down, had to get windows fixed, due to rain can hinder my vison while driving. No warnings, Nissan fixed after going back two times back up camera had to be replaced or fixed. Car would not start. Said it was a break lamp sensor, which was recalled on 2019 and prior Nissan Sentra's. I have a 2020 no recall yet no incident has happened yet, but could cause grave danger if not fixed! this whole car needs to be recalled!.

Equipment problem #30

I had brought my car up to the dealership for an oil change, and they said there was a recall on the tie rods. They said they checked them out, but never gave me paperwork for it. And I’ve looked it up and it said no recall have been serviced on. A week or two later me and another passenger got in my car and put it in reverse, and heard a small pop as I turned the wheel I didn’t think anything of it at first. Then we started heading down the road we got to a stop light and my car was stalling the transmission didn’t sound right for a little while. And then we where going about 35 mph and started slowing down to about 10-15 mph to make a turn, as I started turning the wheel we heard a loud pop. All of a sudden I had lost control of the car, the right front side tire had broke off and barely holding only by the wires and piece of metal. Then we hit the curb almost hitting another car and smoke started coming out of the a/c vents. And also no warning for anything ever came up. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. The dealership has inspected it.

Equipment problem #31

When accelerating, the entire vehicle jerks vigorously. Causing the vehicle to temporarily stall. After few seconds it gains control. Big orange error message displays. Saying vehicle malfunction with 6 different error messages.

Equipment problem #32

Driving 40 mph car for no reason slams on break. Flashing large red warning across the screen. The car is unsafe to drive. Can cause a fatal accident. Passenger and driver at risk for injury due to unaware sudden stop on road while driving. When this happened driver has no control of car. Before the car was purchased I saw a yellow buzzing light. The seller said to leave it over night for repair. The next day I was told by the seller the car was inspected and repaired by manufacturer. The seller said the car was fixed. When I drove it off the lot, the yellow light was still coming on buzzing. Then the car malfunctioned on the road.

Equipment problem #33

The car brakes on its own when nothing is around . I was on city street.

Equipment problem #34

6 months after purchasing my car off the show room floor the key fob stop locking my doors.

Equipment problem #35

Purchased car in October 2020. Car started braking involuntary while driving 10-25 mph. No objects were in front of the car. This has happened 4 times. This happened on my last vehicle and Nissan had a major recall to change the sensors/camera. At this time there is no fix. I have taken my car in 5 times regarding the 4 times it has braked involuntarily. I am over it. The a/c also blew hot air due to too much freon. My battery died less than 90 days from purchase. This car has been a nightmare!! I live in miami and traffic is bad. I am worried that an SUV will slam into the back of me when there is traffic and rain. (rains most of the year). I have a 7 yeat old. And frar we will get rear ended.

Equipment problem #36

On the morning of December 6, 2020. I left my parking lot and proceeded up warwick Ave, towards franklin st and I slowed to go over a bump , when I went over the bump as I have many times , my steering wheel shifted to the right , sending me into a parked car and even though I tried to turn my wheel my car wouldn't go left. When I got out of my car to look I noticed a clean break on my inner outer tie rods which is weird because this is a 2020 car and I just got it in March 2020. I need help because I cannot afford to get this fixed.

Equipment problem #37

The back up camera fails to display. The camera goes out for days at a time. When it comes back on it works for a while then fails again.

Equipment problem #38

Back camera and front one does not work, in August when the weather went to 122 degrees camara went blue, the I went took it on the second wee of 10/16/2020. Torre Nissan kept the car for 5 days and then gave it back to me saying the engeeniers have found no solution for the car part. The back camera sometimes works but sometimes it does not. But I can not see the front of the back cars. I can crash against them.

Equipment problem #39

Crash warning light, blind side light, and lane departure not working. All warning lights came on and systems no longer operating. . Took vehicle in to get camera recalibration. Worked for 2 driving trips, lights came back on following morning.

Equipment problem #40

Nissan has replaced the door actuators on the front left, front right, back left, and back right multiple times, but the issues persist. The malfunctioning door locks pose a serious safety risk, particularly for children who may open the doors while the vehicle is in motion. Additionally, there is the risk of doors failing to secure properly, leaving the vehicle vulnerable to vandalism or theft. This ongoing problem presents significant safety and security concerns that require immediate attention.

Equipment problem #41

Collision alarm sounds, brakes are automatically applied car almost stops when there is nothing close to the front of the car. This has occurred about 4 or 5 times since I got the car in April 2020. It has happened on a major highway, sometimes in an urban area. The dealer takes it on a test drive, and proclaims "no trouble found". This happened at 45 mph and less than 30. Time of day doesn't seem to matter, nor does weather. Last time this happened was about 2 or 3 June.

Equipment problem #42

Back-up camera display intermittently displays "blue screen" when car in reverse (has been on-going issue since taking delivery of car 3-2020 and, as a result of current pandemic, do not drive as much as I might otherwise have driven - 9,500 miles on car a this point). Have taken to dealership several times for them to diagnose and fix problem - no success. One visit to dealer they witnessed failure and supposedly documented in their tracking system. As mentioned, this is intermittent problem which makes it all the more aggravating as does not fail all the time. Yes, vehicle is available for inspection, if needed. Currently trying to find convenient time to take car back to shop for additional review as requested by Nissan regional team. Thanks,.
