On xxx, while driving a 2026 Nissan Sentra rental with approximately 5,000 miles, I was traveling about 75 mph on a freeway in [xxx]. The vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly rapidly decelerated/braked and became disabled. I had no warning before the failure and was barely able to get partially out of the travel area. After stopping, the vehicle was effectively immobilized. I could not shift it into neutral or otherwise move it safely completely out of danger. The steering/wheels would not allow us to move the vehicle normally. During the incident, the vehicle displayed a message stating that a system/software update was required. During the update process, I was unable to operate the emergency hazard flashers, leaving the disabled vehicle without hazard lights while we were still dangerously close to freeway traffic. A law-enforcement officer observed us, turned around, and stopped behind the vehicle with his emergency lights activated. He attempted to assist us but was also unable to get the vehicle moved normally. No police report was made, but I retained the responding officer's business card and can identify him. After the vehicle completed at least part of the process it was performing, I was eventually able to get it moving and reach a safer location. Alamo was notified, and I ultimately exchanged the vehicle. The exact component/system that failed is unknown. I do not know whether the software/update condition caused or contributed to the failure, but I am reporting it because the update message and inability to use the hazard flashers occurred in connection with the incident. I have requested that alamo preserve the vehicle and its electronic, diagnostic, telematics, and software/update data. There was no collision or physical injury, but the sudden deceleration at highway speed, immobilization near freeway traffic, inability to move the vehicle to safety, and inability to use the hazard flashers created a serious risk of a high-s information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. Unable to see anything clearly in reverse camera everything is blurry and out focus. Cannot tell if a car or person walks by. Have to get out of vehicle to make sure surroundings are safe.
Reverse camera is very blurry. You have to squint your eyes to see what the object is when reversing. Daylight helps a little but but at nights it's pretty much faulty. I have attached some pictures, however, the ai features of my phone make the image better than it really is. The car was sold like this, and the consesionary told me that other cars, not just mine, camera was faulty. Please help, this looks worse than the camera of a 2015 Ford fusion.
The back up camera on these cars are terrible and blurry. I talked to the dealership and they don’t seem to be concerned with the issue. Very low quality.
I leased a new 2026 Nissan Sentra sr from o'neil Nissan at 849 w street rd, warminster, PA 18974. Couple of days after leasing the car I had trouble starting it. I took it to service at o'neil Nissan. They checked the battery and put a new software version on my car. Now my dashboard doesn't come on right away when I start my car. I have to wait close to a minute for it to come on. This presents a safety issue. The camera doesn't work, I don't have maps loaded. What is the point of safety features if they don't work? I called the dealership, schedule another appointment, but they are basically telling me the software update probably has glitches and it just takes a long time to load the screens. What's with the guessing? why aren't they taking the issue seriously. The worst part is that the gauges don't load sometimes and there are no manual gauges. So it appears that the dealership wants me to drive blindly without gauges. It makes no sense and it puts the driver and other people in danger. Something needs to be done about this.
I purchased a new 2026 Nissan Sentra sv with the convenience package and am currently unable to take delivery due to the image on the backup camera being so blurry I am unable to use it. The dealer told me it was a software issue, however, now they are saying the car needs a new camera and they do not have a timeline when they will be in stock. My safety and the safety of others are put at risk due to me not being able to use the backup camera at all.
