Nissan Sentra owners have reported 1 problem related to car throttle stuck (under the vehicle speed control category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Nissan Sentra based on all problems reported for the Sentra.
Car has only 13,987 original miles. While accelerating from a stop, accelerating from any speed, vehicle loses all throttle control / response, idle may hang at 3200 suddenly during acceleration then take 30-40 seconds to drop back to normal. You may or may not have warning lights and/or fault codes set. Transmission shifting is erratic or none at all (stays in high gear). Fault codes if any are most likely electrical circuit, low voltage type codes. Warning lights may be traction / stability control, check engine, abs in any combination. The fault is moisture (water / condensation) collecting in a tail light and shorting the circuit which is connected to the engine / transmission electronics. The tail light may not have any sign of damage / cracks / holes but the water presence causing the short can damage or destroy the transmission if not corrected not to mention the possibility of an accident due to a stuck throttle at 3200 rpm in traffic. Nissan is aware of this issue but has no recall at this time (waiting for the accidents I guess).
