I own a 2002 Nissan Sentra and at a routine oil change I was informed that the plastic handle on my oil dipstick broke off and the dipstick is stuck down in the tube. The dealer wants $350 to remove it. I understand that this is a very common problem and that it could cause more serious problems.

8 Structure problem of the 2006 Nissan Sentra

Failure Date: 05/10/2006

My 06 Nissan Sentra, that I purchased to replace the taurus that the frame failed has a prob. With the cruise control-- when in cruise, going down the road, when it needs to keep up to speed, it shifts down two gears, instead of one, and the speed increases faster than it should, and then it shifts up one gear, then back to drive-- there times when if the driver is not used to it-it gains on the traffic in front, faster than any other car I have driven, and if the driver is not very attentive it could cause an accident or at least scare the driver, and cause them to over react, in my opinion. This is not right and should be looked into before someone gets hurt. . We do not therefore use the cruise-- this has been happening ever since the car was new-- and when I called Nissan and the dealer, they said it prob. Was normal, not a good enough answer, in my opinion-- it is almost as bad as the Toyota prob. And I think it is all in the electrical set up, which I think is going to be the downfall of the modern cars. It was not necessary to complicate something that was working right for years, and not they want to make the brakes electric. To much electric junk to go bad and cause problems, and all so the veh,'s have to be taken into the dealer or shop. To have expensive repairs, and cause prob's with inspections all the time, also expensive, and not warrented thanks.

9 Structure problem of the 2003 Nissan Sentra

Failure Date: 06/25/2005

I have purchased a Nissan Sentra 2003 . I have discovered that the windows do no fit nicely into the rubber runs. In fact you can see and feel the gaps. I feel that it is a safety hazard because when I'm driving on the highway and proceed to close my windows, they won't close properly and the wind whistles through the car and I have to pull over to close them. I called stadium Nissan in calgary, alberta canada. I spoke to darren in the service department there and was advised that because my 60,000 km warranty had run out that it would cost me approx $ 230. 00. He also told me to sit the car in the sun and the rubber would soften and reform with the windows. He did advise me that it doesn't happen a lot but he has seen it on several occasions. He told me that even fixing it wouldn't guarantee that it wouldn't happen again. I told him that this is not acceptable. This is definitely a manufacturer's defect and I should not have to be responsible to correct it. I did notice that on this website there was a technical service bulletin submitted. The item number is 10008714 and the summary description said " front window glass run rubber deformed. I would appreciate your prompt help in this matter. Sincerely, caroline cocker.

10 Structure problem of the 2003 Nissan Sentra

Failure Date: 02/14/2005

My 2003 Nissan Sentra was rear-ended by a driver travelling approximately 60 mph. The rear seat virtually collapsed and if there were anyone sitting there they would have been killed. My wife and I were sitting in the front seats. She spent a week in the hospital with head injuries and I spent two days. Why aren't cars tested for rear impact, similar to our accident, instead of only front and side impact?.
