Truck shuts off randomly. I think it related to ecu relay that was a recall. Campaign number. Pc068.
Hello my truck exhaust manifold had a crack and was leaking exhaust fumes, the good thing there was a recall and Nissan dealership replaced it but now the other manifold is leaking carbon monoxide into my cabin making it on save to drive. I call the dealership but the recall is over and my truck dose not have warranty.
When it gets cold my doors will not open and if I can get them open they won't latch not fun holding the door shut driving down the road. . . . Is there a recall? tsb05118 ? the problem has been an issue very time it gets cold outside. . . . For years.
The odometer was set back from 226,844 to 114,000 by someone who owned the car previously and we were not made aware.
For the past three months, I've spent over $3,000 diagnosing and "fixing" erroneous warning lights. This past week, my truck (2005 Titan) would not start. The first time, it just cranked the starter, but would not engage. Now, I can turn the ignition to start and the starter won't even engage (no "clicking" noise, no noise whatsoever). It will start after several attempts, but I have to wait at least 2-3 minutes between each attempt. I've replaced the ecm (at my own expense) and it still does not start properly. It appears (from reading online posts in Titan forums) that the issue is the ipdm (intelligent power distribution module). The symptoms all line up. I feel lucky that my engine has not completely stopped while driving (yet). This is an utter hazard and needs to be addressed before someone loses their life because Nissan will not address the ipdm problem and recall/replace those that are faulty.
The gas guage im goning to say sticks for a lack of words but it will say 1/4 tank then instantly drop which we have gotten used to since this has be ongoing and today on my way to the gas station it was at a quarter tank and mid turn died like it ran out of gas since then I've fed it more gas and got it to crank but its not displaying any gas in it by the guage or information center and giving it gas is difficult I put the pump in and start filling and it spits the gas back out.
Exaust flange after muffler rusted and broke with tail pipe facing upward. Hot exaust air is then trapped in wheel well causing damage to abs cables and other electronics in chassis wiring.
I was looking on this website and seen 6 recalls for the 2005 Nissan Titan which I have and and noticed there was a recall for the wire harness on the driverside rear door. Well all those wires are broken off no music from the rear speakers on either side. I'm having problems were I try to accelerate and the truck barely wants to move and sometimes takes long to finally start. When your idling it sounds as if it's going to break down. When the a. C. Is on it makes a very loud annoying sound. I've added pics of what I found on your website as I've included a pic of the frayed wires from the harness and Nissan of melbourne isn't trying to fix this being a recalled part.
2005 Nissan Titan, the heater works intermittently, the fan blows fine along with the a/c, it doesn't make a difference if the truck is moving or stationary. There is a clicking in the dash when I switch the control from, floor to dash or from defrost to floor, etc. I purchased this truck in 2015, but assume it has been a previous problem.
When I put vehicle in drive, it would only go in reverse. I discovered the linkage from the gearshift lever to the cable had separated. The plastic retaining ring on the shift cable had broken to pieces and left nothing to hold the cable to the shift lever. This is potentially extremely dangerous as a driver could move lever to park and think he is actually in park when the transmission is engaged. Someone getting out of the vehicle while it is still running will then have a runaway vehicle. Local Nissan dealer had no replacement part. I installed a retaining ring and clip. The fix costs pennies and just a few minutes time.
Nissan replaced the ecu relay and front fan they installed a jumper fuse into the ipdm and now vehicle shuts down while driving now the vehicle wont even turn over. The battery was drained now charged when I turn the ignition I get zero response from the starter as if the ipdm was blown. The truck shut down while driving like 10 - 20 within a 5 mi trip to get back home.
While driving on freeway truck shut off. Gas tank read quarter of a tank but engine shut off-car was out of gas.
Oil leaking on left rear wheel cause by a bad seal. Truck have been repaired twice by a local licensed shop, . The problem persist. It may be cause by a bad differential. Let me know if is any recalls from factory. Or any on going investigation.
(1st)the driver door handle froze and I was unable to unlock door to get out. (2nd) while daughter was in the backseat of truck door didnt latch and flew open in route to school (3rd)drivers door again opened then would not latch had to wait till it thawed out.
There is a leak in the manifold that causes exhaust to leak into the drivers area of the vehicle. The vehicle was under warranty when incident happened and was told that Nissan would not cover the repairs of this leak.
Rear speakers stopped working. After researching found that the wiring harness was pinched in the door jamb on my king cab rear doors. The wires were cut due to extensive wear and bending.
The drivers side door actuator freezes and will either not unlock and allow you to open the door at all or more often, will freeze in the open position which prevents the door from latching shut. Apparently this is a known issue which Nissan's model engineer is aware of and they have issued service bulletin ntb05-118a for.
I was driving my 2005 Nissan Titan xe and while in a snow storm and pressed the button at 20 mph to engage the 4 wheel drive and herd a clunk and continued to click, click, click and would not engage into 4 wheel. Brought to dealer and they told me it is the front differential case and would cost 1520 plus tax to replace and install, I then called Nissan 800 # and asked to goodwill part because this seem to be a common problem. Nissan told me they could not help because I'm out of my warrantee.
Tail pipe fell off while driving on the interstate 2 weeks after Nissan performed their 27 point inspection, which supposedly included checking the muffler, exhaust pipes and mountings. A second Nissan dealership (out of town) informed us that this was a common occurrence and was actually talking to another Nissan Titan owner that had the exact same thing happen. The out of town dealership mechanic explained to me that the clamps they use to hold the tail pipe on just behind the muffler, rust off?? so why do they use them??? upon returning home we called the Nissan dealership that performed the 27 point inspection (????) he skirted the issue that the box for the "muffler, exhaust pipes and mountings" inspection was checked off as "checked and okay" and informed us that it was a costly fix. Nothing was done to repair the vehicle and no apologies were made for the obvious overlook of a rusty clamp that could have caused an accident had it fallen completely off, especially traveling at high speeds on a busy interstate on labor day weekend, had we not heard the clanging of the pipe banging against the underside of the truck.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that the abs warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was jerking and lost proper braking functionality. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle and the braking system was reset. Additionally, the fuel gauge was inoperable causing the vehicle to run out of fuel. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA campaign number: 10v074000 (fuel system, other) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
The door handles on my 2005 Nissan Titan freeze every time the temperature drops below freezing . I live in the northeast ! I bought the truck for safe winter driving but when te temperature drops below freezing the door handle freezes up and wont open . If you do manage to somehow get the door open you can not close it again until it thaws out . My wife and daughter both use this vehicle and I consider this an unsafe issue. I have also read many forums pertaining to this problem and am wondering why this has not become a recall.
