3 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem

Failure Date: 03/19/2018

2005 Nissan Titan 121k miles. Cracked exhaust manifold causing a exhaust leak. There is a strong exhaust smell in the cab when traveling at slower speeds (under 35mph). It has been so bad at times it makes you light headed and sick to your stomach. This could cause someone to pass out while driving causing them to loose control of their vehicle. Defiantly a safety hazard! also causing a decrease in gas mileage as well as a loud knocking/puffing noise upon acceleration. I have searched the internet finding 100's if not 1000's of complaints about this! why has this never been recalled? the safety issue alone should warrant a recall, its obviously a faulty component!.

4 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem

Failure Date: 07/03/2017

My Nissan Titan has roughly 31,000 miles on it over the last 12 years . The exhaust manifold is cracked . I did a search to see if this was a known problem and there are tons of complaints and pictures on the internet so I was amazed to see that there are no recalls . Many people have had the issue taken care of under the 8 year 80,000 mile emissions warranty . The only problem is many people ( including myself ) are past the 8 years even though way under the mileage . My truck is practically brand new inside and out and has been sparingly used and still now I have harmful exhaust fumes leaking out and the truck is robbed of power .

These are a safety concern as I can smell the exhaust gas around the front of the truck, instead of it being properly transferred out the exhaust system as designed. Nissan is not supporting the required replacement which should be free. 10 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem

Failure Date: 11/09/2015

The exhaust manifolds are faulty and crack allowing deadly carbon monoxide exhaust gases to enter the cab of the truck while the vehicle is in operation. This could cause the driver to lose consciousness and crash. It was only after my 6th long road trip (3+ hours driving) did I discover I was being poisoned by carbon monoxide. I took my truck to an exhaust repair company and as soon as I mentioned my vehicle the technician told me he was 99% sure I had a cracked manifold. He later confirmed this with a diagnostic test which revealed both manifolds cracked and leaking exhaust fumes into the cab. This could have killed me just sitting in a parking lot! I thought I was just getting bad headaches from the long drive and my nausea was from the extreme headaches. After this happening so many times I knew there had to be more to this. Think about somebody driving, being poisoned to the point to where they pull off the road to rest and try to sleep off their headache in a running vehicle to stay warm and end up dying. Nissan needs to fix this. I don't want a new defective manifold, I want a fix!.

Exaust fumes in cabin due to cracked exaust manifolds. I only use the truck for family trips, and on the last trip I notices a ticking noise coming from the engine, especially when cold, I also noticed exaust fumes in the cabin when the truck was at a light or a long stop sign. I am the first owner of this truck and after some research it looks like this is a common problem with Nissan Titans but the worst part is that the replacments have the same issue, so now I can not use this vehicle. Looking to see what is the best permanent solution.

Right exhaust manifold crack. Every forum on Titan's complain how the exhaust manifolds crack and leak well before their time and all been under 100k. It tells me Nissan does a poor job making that part and it's a costly job for customers to repair. This should be a recall item.

21 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem

Failure Date: 11/10/2013

Hi, I have a 2005 Nissan Titan and the exhaust manifold has cracked in the same spot twice now and it is before the cat so that means its now a gross polluter. The problem is you get it fixed and they put the same part back on that cracks again because they haven't changed the design. There are 3 other Titans in my town and all of us have the same story. Also the sway bar mount on all of ours are broke witch results in very poor handling. I hope it can be recalled before something serious happens. Thank you.

25 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem

Failure Date: 04/04/2013

Exhaust manifold cracks. The exhaust manifolds on Nissan Titans are defective. It is well documented that the majority of owners of Titans have, had or will have the issue of a cracked exhaust manifold. This is a dangerous situation, as an exhaust leak could introduce carbon monoxide into the cabin area with is lethal. There are forums that this issue is discussed well in detail requiring the owner to foot the bill for replacement at a price around $2500. 00. If you contact Nissan, they will not acknowledge that it is a defect, except in reality they know because they have made subsequent changes on newer models to address the issue. They don't want to take responsibility for earlier models. You will not know if carbon monoxide has entered the cabin and could kill you in minutes. This is a serous safety issue. A recall needs to be issued in order to save lives and make Nissan responsible for defective products. This applies not only to Titans, but armadas as well.

31 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem

Failure Date: 09/02/2012

Prior to leaving for a trip I stoped by the dealership that I bought the truck from informed me that the exhaust was broken due to rust I was also told that there was no issue with driving it to nc from CT on the way back from nc the trailer lights failed and I started receiving slip abs brake and 4wd lights on my dash. I return the truck to the dealership and was told that the exhaust had melted the wiring harness where it had broke/rusted. I spoke to another dealership and was told this was a common issue where the wiring harness would melt when the exhaust brakes/rusts. . . I was also told that they had seen some where the whole tail lamp had melted.

32 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2012

My exhaust manifold is leaking just as many other Titan owners have experienced. I did not notice a noise on mine until I went in to a muffler shop to get a price on getting a dual exhaust installed and they showed me that it was cracked. As a result, I do not know when the problem began, but I can hear it constantly now. I have since, done extensive research over the internet and have found that hundreds of Titan owners are experiencing the same problem. It doesn't seem to matter how old or new the Titan is, owners are reporting the same issue over and over again. Some are still under warranty, so they are getting a free repair, but if it is an ongoing issue, why hasn't a recall already been issued? I have been told by many muffler shop tech's that the "cast" that Nissan used was a bad "cast" and they have since fixed it. If the aftermarket muffler tech knows, than Nissan certainly should. . . Or else they should be made aware of it by a recall being issued. Thank you.
