While driving at 45 mph transmission drops out of gear and truck engine nearly red lines. Was unable to get completely off the road. After sitting for a few minutes was able to move the truck a few feet to get completely out of traffic. Had vehicle towed to Nissan dealer where they informed me that I had an intermix of coolant and transmission fluid. They stated that this was a common problem that they see and that Nissan extended the warrantee to 80,000 miles but I am not covered. They quoted me $8700 to repair. Spoke to a few transmission shops and they all indicated that they encourage their Nissan clients to bypass the internal tranny cooler in the radiator with an external on when they reach 80,000 miles. They said the cost to do this is less than $300. 00. Nissan knows of this and even lost a class action suit but has never informed anyone. For a $300 fix I am now out a truck and or $9000. 00!!!! way to go Nissan!!.
