1 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2025

I have a defective exhaust manifold that’s letting gases in the cab.

2 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 02/23/2023

The rear differential and axle has an inevitable failure with no warning lights or much anything else besides some possible noises! the vent designs are terrible it causes overheating and internal turmoil over time seals start leaking, bearings and internal gears get weak from over hot /cold repeated cycles allowing moisture to build and accumulate in the 3rd member where it’s supposed to be completely sealed and dry other then gear oil to lube and maintain proper function. My personal and current experience is I’m without my truck, missing work and very . Very thankful that it didn’t lock up on the highway/freeway that I drive too and from work about 85 miles daily! the best part is there’s no fast cost efficient resolution! the differential open carrier with spider gears held in place by a shaft pin and tiny 8 mm bolt that broke causing the pin to slide back and forth (pinball effect) into the ring /pinion, side gears, spider gears untill it either gets jammed in the gears and instantly locks up or slowly fractures away untill gears held by nothing, collide causing catastrophic failure! I happened to notice the inside of rear wheel wet because when I was exiting the highway I heard a faint sound almost like a bolt or rock or something hit underneath the truck so I took a glance at everything and noticed that wheel grease soaked and a little fluid on the bottom of transfer case. . Long story short I drove it approximately 1 mile to a shop there it still sits needing complete different axle and differential or a whole new carrier and all bearings/seals spacers possibly axle shaft don’t know yet and dealership can not get any parts for it!! the parts are obsolete! none! don’t sell them, don’t make them…. . They recommend and can only replace whole unit around 3-5k thousands of dollars I wish I had!! all of the research I’ve done tells me this is a huge problem! theres hundreds of thousands of people that this has happened too! asking why isn’t there a recall??!.

3 Power Train problem

5 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/25/2015

I recently bought a 2007 Nissan Titan and I love the truck. I was driving along and I started smelling brakes burning, I pulled over and my rear passenger wheel was smoking. I looked on the back side and rear end dope was on the back of my wheel. The wheel seal has went out. Come to find out looks like the rear diffrential has been sealed up before. So, its a problem with the Nissan Titan rear end seals and diffrential seal. It creates a safety hazard getting on the brakes. The wheel could catch on fire.

10 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/02/2012

My passenger side rear axle seal is leaking. From what I have read, this is an extremely big problem on Nissan Titan's. The leak is affecting the following parts: - passenger side rear brake components - passenger side rear tire (sidewall) - entire rear axle assembly.

11 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2011

Rear axle seal leaked on drivers side at 66,000 miles. Gear oil all over brakes which is a major safety concern. No modifications - truck is full stock. Nissan dealer database reveals this issue happened also at 29,000 miles and entire rfd was replaced under warranty for previous owner. Now happens again at 66,000 miles. I am told there is a TSB for this issue, but since vehicle is out of warranty(6,000 miles ago) that this is my problem. Dealer told me that this problem could very well have been going on without my notice for longer than 6,000 miles. A little research reveals this to be a very common problem with these trucks. Nissan needs to acknowledge that they have a faulty design in the rfd, and they need to step up and issue a recall for this issue due to it being a major safety concern!.

12 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/17/2011

Wheel seals leaked and got onto brake pads and two axel seals had to be changed to make truck safe.

13 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/18/2011

At around 60,000 miles both my rear seals and pinion seal blew due to a bad air valve or inferer seals, causeing the rear brakes to prematurly fail, due to the oil that had been spilling on to them, this should not have accured on a vehicle with minamal miles and no towing or hauling . . .

22 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/25/2009

I have had both rear axle seals replaced on my Nissan Titan, they almost didn't cover the driver side because I was 300 miles over my warranty. I just felt since this has happened to both sides, what will keep it from happening again? I want to make sure Nissan recognizes this problem and it is in need of a recall to fix it. The worse part is that it leaks axles grease onto the rear brakes causing them not to work.

23 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/20/2008

One rear axle already leaked and we had to repair it. Now the other rear seal is leaking and we have to replace it. Also the shocks are bad.
