Warning Light On problems of the 2008 Nissan Titan

2008 Nissan Titan, the airbag red air bag warning light started to illuminate on the highway. After further investigation it was found that the crash zone sensor p/n 98581-zt08a was defective do to corrosion and defective sealing of the internal electronics of the sensor (see attachment). To abruptly loose the vehicle's airbag function is a safety hazard (on the highway without warning) and should be recalled.

This could cause the air bag to fail to work in a event of a crash. The contact stated that they are having the same failure as NHTSA campaign number: 08v69000 ( crash zone senor ). The dealer has not been notified. The manufacturer was made aware but did not assist. The failure mileage was 120,000. Nd.
