Gasoline Fuel System problem #1

The contact owns a 2009 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that the owners manual advised that flex fuel could be used in the vehicle. The contact started using flex fuel and the vehicle began to exhibit an abnormal ticking sound and the engine rpms would increase excessively. The contact started the vehicle and shifted into reverse when the engine rpms raced and the vehicle began to accelerate backward. The contact attempted to brake but the vehicle would not respond and the tires left skid marks all over the ground where he attempted to stop the vehicle. The contact was not able to stop the vehicle and crashed into a tree. The vehicle was then shifted into park and shut off. The vehicle was not inspected or repaired for the failure. The failure and the current mileage was 3,800.

Tank Assembly problem #2

Though we did not know it at the time, the fuel vapor emissions control unit had a small fire into the charcoal chamber and the solenoid switch. This attaches to the gas tank so when we saw it, we were horrified. I have saved the unit and had it replaced. Nissan dealer said there was no recall on it, but the new unit was built somewhat differently. Also have pictures if you would like.
