The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that while traveling approximately 30 mph, the brake light sensor illuminated and upon pressing the brake pedal it sank to the floor. The contact had to apply force to ensure the vehicle stopped. The contact was able to turn off and restart the vehicle which reset the computer and the sensor. The vehicle was taken to an independent repair shop who diagnosed that the anti-lock brake system needed to be reset. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who diagnosed that the master cylinder needed to be replaced and that the abs actuator was making the loud noise but it was unclear if it needed to be replaced at the moment. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 10v072000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.
