I'd like someone to call me.
I own a 2005 Nissan Titan crew cab and when the temps drop below freezing the door handles or latches freeze up and you can not shut the door, you have to hold them closed with your hand while driving. There was nothing that I did leading up the the failure other than maybe wash my truck. I was told that there was no recall for this problem and that I would have to pay $500 out of pocket for something that could end up killing a child. I took a friend of mines child to school today and the door opened and when I closed it evidently did not latch because the cable was froze up. Good thing that he was in a car seat and buckled in cause when I turned the corner the door flew open. This is ridiculous and someone needs to step in and do something before someone gets hurt.
Passenger side door won't open when the temp is cold. The handle comes out but the door won't open. When I finally did get it open, it wouldn't close, the latch would not move to catch the post. I put it in my garage over night, and the problem seemed to be solved, but the next time I left it out, the same thing happened.

Drivers side door mechanism freezes. Door can be opened from the inside but will not latch and close properly. This cause the driver to hold the door closed or to lock themselves in the car, to try and defeat the latch mechanism. Nissan dealer has been contacted, but they claim no manufacturer responsibility, although they do have a $500 fix, for this non-safety related issue.
In cold temperatures the driver side door on our 2005 Nissan Titan crew cab is extremely difficult to or will not open. When it does open it sometimes will not latch when closed so the door would swing open if the vehicle is operated. If it does latch when closed it is impossible to open from the inside. This is a serious safety issue because it would make it impossible for the driver to exit the vehicle from the left side in case of emergency. This happens anytime the temperature is 30 degrees f or below.
Door latch freezes in low temps which prevents the door from closing.
2005 Titan king cab driver side door handle sticks open in freezing temperature or a little below. No contact with water for over a week. This keeps the door from closing all together. Quick fix. Must hold closed and lock manually. Once locked, however, one cannot exit vehicle from that side. Possible death trap. Dealer found no problem. Once it got it to the dealer it was 50 degrees outside. Go figure. New door handle assembly on order.
I own a 2005 Nissan Titan crew cab which has faulty door latch mechanisms. When temperatures become near or below freezing some or all of the door latches fail to operate properly. When it occurs it causes the doors to stay latched, if it occurs on all the doors at once you cannot gain entry to the vehicle. They also malfunction in the opposite, opening but not latching leaving the door able to swing free. I brought this problem to my service manager and they said this is the first time they had heard of the problem. They applied a gross amount of silicone spray to the locking mechanism hoping to resolve the problem. The door has malfunctioned twice since then with the cold temperatures. I have a small child and I feel this is an unacceptable problem that could result in injury.
On my 2004 Nissan Titan the driver side door latch freezes in cold weather preventing the door latch from engaging when closing the door. The door will not shut and has to be held shut while driving.
Door handle freezes and door of vehicle will no longer close.
The contact stated the passenger's door will not latch in cold weather. The vehicle has been taken to the dealership twice, they told him there was no solution for this problem. Updated 1/4/2006 - the dealer replaced the passenger side door latch and handle.
Problems with vehicle's passenger side door not locking. The passenger's side door would not lock. The consumer contacted the dealer who ordered the parts and contacted the consumer when they arrived. After the parts were replaced the problem still existed. The consumer was told that the incorrect parts were ordered/received and they placed a new order. To date the vehicle has not been repaired. The consumer is seeking financial compensation for rental fees and car payments sin the vehicle is not in her possession. It was discovered that the factory put in power door locks on the vehicle when they should have been equipped with manual door locks.
