2 Door problem of the 2005 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 02/08/2010

The door handles and locks both fail to work when temperatures drop below around 20 degrees. Sometimes they simply wont open, and other times they will open but won't latch when the door shuts. The dilemma is usually simply frustrating, however sometimes they slightly latch and appear to be shut and fully latched, but then while the car is in motion the door will fling open on a turn.

3 Door problem of the 2004 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 01/15/2010

The issue I am having is with my 2004 Nissan Titan. When it gets cold out, all of the door handle freeze and won't open. If you are lucky after a few hours and you do get it open, you can't get them shut. Several times I had to tie the seat belt around the interior door handle in addition to holding the door close so I could get home. I took my car to ricart Nissan and they said it will $1000 to fix all 4 doors. So, I contacted Nissan directly and they refused to fix it. This is a serious safety issue and someone is going to get injured and/or killed.

4 Door problem of the 2005 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 11/02/2009

2005 Nissan Titan. Door latch failure during cold weather below freezing. Live in anchorage alaska, so time period of this weather is October - April. Door will not open, nor close properly from inside, or outside of vehicle. Had this problem last week, was not able to get back into vehicle for 10min while child was still in back seat. Yesterday 2 Nov driving on a highway door opened unexpectedly and passenger nearly fell out of vehicle. No one injured, however you can imagine the experience at highway speeds. There is a Nissan TSB that they will replace door locking mechanism if vehicle is under warranty. Nissan USA: tbns bx56aa / TSB 05118. However if vehicle is not under warranty they quoted me at $400+ per door x's 4 doors. This is unreasonable and a severe safety hazard for most of the country that experiences weather below 32degrees f. It is a known failure that Nissan USA knows about. This should be a mandated recall. There will be severe lawsuits filed if another passenger, my child, or myself cannot get into a vehicle, or unexpectedly falls out. 7 Door problem of the 2004 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 12/13/2007

Drivers side door mechanism freezes. Door can be opened from the inside but will not latch and close properly. This cause the driver to hold the door closed or to lock themselves in the car, to try and defeat the latch mechanism. Nissan dealer has been contacted, but they claim no manufacturer responsibility, although they do have a $500 fix, for this non-safety related issue.

8 Door problem of the 2005 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 12/10/2007

In cold temperatures the driver side door on our 2005 Nissan Titan crew cab is extremely difficult to or will not open. When it does open it sometimes will not latch when closed so the door would swing open if the vehicle is operated. If it does latch when closed it is impossible to open from the inside. This is a serious safety issue because it would make it impossible for the driver to exit the vehicle from the left side in case of emergency. This happens anytime the temperature is 30 degrees f or below.

11 Door problem of the 2004 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 12/23/2004

Numerous problems have arisen with my leased 2004 Nissan Titan king cab. Including serious vibration problems that occurred upon braking to the point the vehicle was parked until the dealer finally agreed to at least 'turn' the rotors. Eventually brakes were replaced by dealer 6 months after the initial problem. Currently facing problems including a noise at startup that everyone can hear except the dealer mechanics, an overflow problem with gas tank even though just a few liters have been put in an empty tank. Additionally major problems with driver side door refusing to open from both the inside and outside. Dealer has realigned door numerous times but problem continues. Dealer states the door problem is due to a poor design with a heavy door on inadequate hinges. Occasionally have had to drive while holding door closed. Extremely dangerous considering weight of door. This truck is barely one year old and problems just keep piling up with little dealer support offered.
