I have a 2023 Nissan Titan xd 4x4. Recently I have experienced a major malfunction with the automatic braking system. While driving the vehicle I have experienced several times that the front left wheel is locking up briefly and pulling me sharply to the left. I have almost slid into other vehicles and guardrails during this malfunction. I immediately brought it to my local Nissan dealer,(coggin Nissan) in jacksonville FL. And reported the problem on three occasions. They offered no findings or solutions to correct the problem. They take it for a short test drive and state everything is working properly. I explained this is a random problem and usually occurs when taking right hand curves and has caused me to lose control of the vehicle. Nothing has been done by the dealer to remedy the problem though most online forums point to a wheel speed sensor. I have also relayed that when its raining and this happens the front crash detector symbol illuminates briefly and I've shown them a picture taken from my cell phone. I feel any further driving of this vehicle puts myself, my family and other drivers at risk.

The vehicle has loss of power and goes into limp mode unexpectedly. It has done this numerous times on the interstate and regular roads. It is a safety hazard. This has occurred on several dates and we were lucky to be able to pull over safely. We we traveling in georgia last month and Nissan didn't even have a qualified diesel tech with 3 hours of where we were. We have had ten of thousands of dollars of work to the truck and it still is not fixed. They replaced the computer screen, wiring harness, and I believe parts of the exhaust system. They had the truck for months.

The vehicle is available for inspection immediately by all parties. While driving down the highway, the truck started a vibration, without any warning indicators. The vehicle was taken to the next travel center truck shop. The writer acknowledged the vibration like a misfire, but no codes were present. He recommended another shop or dealer. A detour was made to the nearest Nissan dealership. On the way, the truck stumbled with a violent vibration and shut down on the road without warning lights. There was a complete loss of power from the engine on the highway, giving way to the risk of being hit by other motorists and blocking traffic. Since the engine shut down, there was also a loss of power steering, giving high risk to the possibility of an accident. The truck was unable to restart. The vehicle shut down in the middle of the desert, exposing my family to unsafe environmental conditions. The truck was towed the remaining way to the dealer. The next business day, the technician got the truck started and verified the concern. The tech requested additional time for teardown which was approved to remove the oil pan for inspection. I was quoted over $37,000 to repair “catastrophic engine failure. ” there were metal shavings found in the oil pan “the size of a computer mouse” from somewhere on the crankshaft. The dealer found that the check engine light came on during service but did not provide the codes. Nissan refuses to assist with repair due to warranty time and secondhand ownership. Nissan was offered to inspect the vehicle but has declined.

I am trying to get an appointment at the Nissan service in clarksville, MD about the safety concern. They haven't returned to me after I left numerous messages via text and their office answer machines. My truck acts very oddly at around 40 mph which is very hazard and I did send the video link but they rather not view it until I get an appointment. I did reach the Nissan consumer affairs that I have waited long enough but they told me to continue to contact the service and they are aware of it due to the log. I did send the video to both of them but they couldn't view it at their work computer. The truck drifted on the ramp around 40 mph as I captured it. See the video below, at :20, I kept on the gas for around mph, the rpm and mph dropped and the slippery warning light and the brake system was triggered. I felt like my truck was pulled back when that happened. That is a bit dangerous to drive. I dont see any damages under my truck. Can you escalate the issue to the Nissan and the local service that they should take a look at and take care of it? the truck has plenty of problems and it is only two years old. My old Nissan car almost had no issues and ran hundreds of thousands miles. . Read more...

The instrument cluster on the dashboard and continuing down the center console, entertainment screen, heating/ cooling controls to the usb ports on my 2021 Nissan Titan. . The entire cluster of indicator lights, alarms, settings etc. Create a dangerous element of distraction never experienced in my driving history. Take a look! please investigate the entire aray of the dash lights when illuminated at night. It's a truck not a boeing 747. These unproven driver aids provide nothing but discraction when attentiveness is what highway safety relies on from all motorists. As a side note: the crusise control on this Nissan vehicle does not control your speed. The mileage indicator before fuel runs out stops showing miles till empty at around 40 miles. Say you're traveling with a young child at night and you merely want an indication of miles till empty to determine if you should take the baby home and get fuel tomorrow or, if it's a more critical situation. There is a danger of distracted driving akin to texting while driving with this cluster of controls, warning lights and an aray of information indicators as distracting as I've found on this Nissan Titan. I should not have to "bone-up" on the owners manual to simply operate a motor vehicle.

While driving in normal driving conditions, the auto at 30 mph will rev the rpms up to as much as 5000 rpm before the transmission will catch and accelerate loosing the ability to accelerate on demand when needed such as merging on to a highway of speeds of 55 mph or higher. This behavior happens almost every single time acceleration is demanded and is not due to a lack of atf fluid in the transmission. As the vehcile has done this after the local service center of Nissan in my area had just done the 20k mile check up. This has been on going and constant behavior since I purchased this Nissan Titan in 2021. Truck currently has 35k, and has had all service suggestions done. This is a danger to my family and myself as lack of power can cause extreme danagers when you are trying to gain speed to merge onto a busy highway and you are running out of roadway to gain speed and you have to use the emergency lane to have access to safe area to gain enough speed to safely merge. This is a well known issue with this model, as I have been seeing other owners complain for sometime online in forums, when I researched if anyone else had this issue.
Issues with turbo actuator. The check engine light stays on and I've taken it to Nissan multiple times to diagnose but they want to change me diagnostic fee every time and still can't tell me what the issue is. The truck loses power while driving without any warning and goes into limp mode where it will not go past 5-10 mile per hour. According to boards and Nissan this is a very common problem with Nissan Titans with cummins that Nissan has failed to fix with recall. This is a huge safety issue and could cause loss of life as it has stopped on me on the interstate multiple times. Please fix this issue ASAP as it's been reported over the course of last few years and someone will lose their life over this huge issue.
My Titan xd has just over 28,000 miles on it. There is a long acceleration delay. I’m not sure if this issue is known. But if there’s a recall for this problem please let me know.
Frequent and intermittent appearance of abs, traction control, engine warning and 4wd error lights on dashboard. All lights appear simultaneously and when they appear, cruise control fails, vehicle downshifts and slows substantially and engine rpms increase 10-20% above norm for each gear. If vehicle is stopped, turned off and then restarted, conditions return to normal, only to appear again later. During a recent 3,000 mile florida-michigan-florida trip, these incidents occurred a total of 56 times, all while on interstate highways driving 55-70 mph. The incidents do not occur during daily low-speed driving around town. After the recent 3k mile trip, I brought the vehicle to Nissan dealer however they would not service because dashboard lights were not on and vehicle was operating normally. Dealer advised I should wait until lights reappear, then bring vehicle into dealer service bay immediately and “do not turn off ignition” because lights will disappear. This situation is difficult because lights only appear when I am driving on the interstate, usually far from home, and they disappear upon restart. Also I would need to immediately find a Nissan dealer with an open service bay.

Please also reference ntb21-028, ntb21-073. The failed system appears to be the engine/transmission power control. My safety and passenger safety was at risk. A dealer did inspect in may of 2021 and was not able to duplicate and did not perform any corrective action. The problem is twofold. First the vehicle can fail to accelerate during a rolling stop (I. E. Entrance into a traffic circle) and because there is no power can roll slowly into oncoming traffic. Second, the vehicle can shift erratically and is slow to shift into the next gear (high rpm before shifting) and can sometimes flair during shifting. I am now aware that Nissan is and has been aware of this issue however this issue is not currently identified as a recall. Bottom line, I think the hesitation/delayed acceleration is a safety issue and wanted to be sure the NHTSA is informed. Thank you.
Tl the contact owns a 2018 Nissan Titan. The contact stated while driving 35 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel and then went blank. The vehicle was towed to empire lakewood Nissan (14707 w colfax Ave, lakewood, CO 80401) but was not yet diagnosed. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 61,400.
I have had to replace my transfer case 2 times, my front drive side hub assembly 2 times in less than 2 years. I have replace front axle and and rear. Now my passenger side leaks out from under the glove box every time it rains into my floor keeping it wet. Just yesterday my transmission went itno limp mode and I know it can be a number of things . I look at the 04 thru 07 Titans and they have a lot of issues like have but haven't listed them all, but the issues iam having are not on recall list for my 2006, but are for the other years??? this is my only vehicle and I can't afford to keep dropping $ into it. Back driver window motor stopped and window fell and broke, manifold ticking is a recall for the 2005, but not my 2006. I could keep going but I am getting so frustrated. I was going down the road at about 45 mhp when it just went into limp mode, so I pulled over turned it off and back on then it would work for about 3 min. Stop do it again to get home. It will go into gear, and the rpm's rev and go up ,but I am not getting very far at all. My trans fluid is good. I have also replaced the throttle position sensor. All fuses are good and codes reset and it still goes limp mode.

2019 Nissan Titan pro-4x while driving the truck, the battery voltage will drop below 12 volts (as low as 11. 75 volts). When the voltage is low I've noticed that the transmission is constantly hunting to find the right gear. Also the throttle control becomes sluggish. When trying to lightly accelerate it will not gain speed until the transmission downshifts harshly. On a handful of occasions I've experienced an issue where I can push the accelerator pedal to the floor and it would not accelerate at all. The engine rpms would slowly increase but the truck would continue to slow down as if the transmission was not fully engaged. Once every 2-3 uses of the truck it will not start and acts like the battery is dead. I jump start it and then it cranks right away. I've load tested the battery and it is still in good condition. The problem was intermittent for the first year of ownership but now is a consistent problem. I've had to buy a portable battery jump starter to keep in the truck because I keep getting stranded. This is also a possible safety issue because the electrical control system is designed to operate above 12 volts. When the voltage drops below 12 volts then it is possible to render some of the vehicle control systems (including safety systems) inoperable which could possibly result in a crash causing injury and/or death. I am a control systems engineer and have over 25 years of experience in industrial electrical controls.
I left my home on a 1300-mile round trip from ar to ky. About 100 miles into my trip while pulling an enclosed 16' trailer at 70mph on a flat 4 lane highway the warning reduced engine power and the check engine light came on. The reduce engine power warning went out, but the check engine light stayed on. During the next 550 miles the reduced power warning came on and went out about every 100 miles. I was able to continue to ky that day. The light went out the next morning. On 6 July 2020 I started home and both the check engine light and the reduced power warning came on after I had driven about 50 miles driving at 70 mph pulling the trailer on a 4 lane interstate highway after a few minutes the reduced power went out but the check engine stayed on, during the next 600 miles the check engine light stayed on but the reduced power warning would come on and go out at about 50 mile intervals. This continued all the way home. During the trip when the reduced power warning came on the truck would hold whatever speed the cruise was set at but if it tried to go up any incline the truck would not rev above 3000 rpm which caused the transmission to jump in and out of passing gear and you were unable to pass or even keep the speed up going up any type of a steep incline (hill). Since you had no idea when the light was coming on and the power was going to be reduced, I was afraid to pass anything or let any other vehicle get too close behind. I got the truck into shop two days later. When I picked my truck up, I was informed that the egr cooler had failed internally and was losing coolant into the exhaust system and had to be replaced. I did a search of the internet for other owners who had this problem with their truck and found lots of other owners who had the same problem reduced engine power and most were due to the egr cooler leaking and causing a loss of coolant.
On may 29, 2020 after placing my truck in drive, it slowly accelerated. The rpm reading was around 1k even with me flooring the pedal. The traction control light and check engine light were illuminated. I then turned the vehicle off. The warning lights turned off and the vehicle accelerated normally for about 0. 1 miles. The warning lights came back on. I again turned the vehicle off and back on. Traction control remained on. I attempted to cross a busy main six lane parkway to make a left turn. Power was lost as I entered second lane trying to cross to opposite side of parkway. The vehicle coasted straight across parkway at around 1k rpm. I parked then allowed it to cool for about 5 minutes. It cranked again with traction control light still on. I was able to drive vehicle home approximately 10 miles. The vehicle was towed the following Saturday. Vehicle was diagnosed by dealership as having a defective throttle body. Mileage in/mileage out 43,937/43,940 dealer notes - cause: p2101 ect function, performed voltage tests at ecm/harness all okay, states to replace etc repair - replaced throttle body and oring, performed closed throttle position and idle air relearn if I hadn't fallen for the finance manger's sales pitch to purchase a warranty, I would have been stuck with several thousands in costs on a vehicle with under 50k miles. I guess they know their vehicles are doomed to fail early and often. On same visit, I had to have a $1,500 sliding rear window replaced. Not a safety concern at this point, but thank you mister finance manager for the heads up on vehicle quality. Local Nissan dealership was not able to authorize repairs, Nissan corporate took a long time to approve costs. My truck was in shop for 2. 5 weeks.
Yellow check engine light comes on and loss of power, truck will jerk back and forth like theres no fuel then will shoot off. This has happened many times with no light on. Ive taken my truck to the dealer to be told the check engine light came on for def low and braking too many times. Driving normal and a red indicator light comes on with yellow check engine light and truck saying reduced engine power and I pull over and turn truck off for a few mins and everything is off. Truck many times wont go past 3 rpms. Many times while driving I cant accelerate and no lights are showing. Nissan dealerships I believe dont know anything about this truck and is clearing codes without fixing the problem. Ive asked to see the code list and was refused. Recall on ecm same issues were happening and the recall was fixed to update ecm but the dealership actually fried my ecm and had my truck for 45 days trying to get it started. Same problems as before which I believe something else again is wrong with this truck. Many Titan owners are having the same problem, dealership state they cant duplicate the issue which if they tried they would succeed but trying and having a vehicle only get 5 miles on while at dealership is highly suspicious. Dealership doesnt fully listen. Transmission has had a hard knock into gear since day one and was told that's normal for my transmission. I see the same problems being said by alot of owners and nothings being done about it. I've been having these issues since I bought my truck Jan 31 2017.
Tl-the contact owns a 2005 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that while driving approximately 15 mph, the vehicle did not accelerated above 15 mph. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for a diagnostic. The contact father had a diagnostic reader and the codes were electronic thruttle actuator and thruttle control motor relay. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 155,000. Bp.

1. The vehicle had to be braked hard on the highway to avoid a car that failed to yield while merging. The other vehicle then braked hard and I attempted to accelerate to get in front but the vehicle would not respond to the gas pedal. The engine did not shut off, but the truck would not rev the rpm's or have any response to the gas pedal for about 3 seconds. Luckily a collision did not occur. 2. While taking a right hand turn onto a steep incline drive from a highway the truck once again would not respond to the gas pedal. The truck was just sitting on the incline for about three seconds before it responded to the gas pedal and climbed the hill. There was a vehicle following behind into the drive and had to stop to avoid colliding into my rear end as the truck would not go for a few seconds. I am not exactly sure how to describe these two incidents other than it is a "dead pedal" for several seconds when propulsion is truly needed.
When I'm cruising the rpm flutters and the truck seems to be confused as to what gear it should be on. Acceleration sometimes is hesistant and delayed. The gas pedal needs to be almost full depressed for the truck to accelerate. The front bumper is crooked. I checked for any give on the structure but there were none. There was no collision involved.
While driving vcd light comes on and my truck will not go into passing gear. Expectly while taking. Cannot use back power windows also.

When the ac is engaged on the vehicle and I attempt to slow to a stop. Occasionally it will surge in power prior to stopping, resulting in a surge of distance occasionally strong enough to push through the amount of applied braking. Causing the vehicle to cross into crosswalks or traffic. This has happened multiple times.
When the truck is in drive and stop at stop sign or red light, the idle rpm drops low 6 out of 10 times. The lowest I experienced was ~300 rpm and the truck shakes. There were times it dropped to ~400 rpm, the truck did not shake. Thing is, it only drops for a couple of seconds and go back up to 625-675 range. Then I take off, truck drives normal. Note that ac is on when this happens. If not heavy on brakes it will pull through them at a complete stop.
My vehicle is a 2004 Nissan Titan pickup truck and when I'm driving and I start to slow down to stop when I get about 40 miles per hour it wants to speed up real fast on me and I'm trying to stop at when it's doing it when it drops down to 25 it does it again and then again at 5 or 10 miles an hour does it is very very very dangerous because of almost wrecked several times it's so bad that it's messed up my brakes because now my my pads are making noises rotors it does it every single time you drive the vehicle.
I just bought this Nissan Titan and was not in formed of this { takata recall}. . . And what is permaplate soundgard its under the dealers appearance plan . Itold them I did not want things that the manufacture has already put on the truck such as paint protection seat protection chemicales. . I only drove it from the dealer to home so nothing has happened that I can say for sure except locking and unlocking doors seemed different and cruse seemed to work and next time I found it took a while for me to get it to work.
Vehicle won't properly accelerate especially when making turns. Vehicle is ventilating diesel exhaust gases into cabin when heating or cooling system is on.
My truck has been showing p0335 code issues, which is crankshaft sensor, which has been replaced, my rpm's jump/sputter but the truck stars & runs but feels like its running rough, also I forgot to mention that my dashboards "slip" light remains on. . . And the biggest problem with it is that, no "professionals" seem to know what it is, nor have they been able to fogure it out as of yet.
I was driving my truck on a main road and stopped at a stop sign and when I went to accelerate my truck was barely moving, unless I put the pedal to the ground. The truck went into limp mode and after looking into it, the codes p1757 and p1759 came up for the front break solenoid valve and after examining the tcm, I noticed the pin snapped for the front break solenoid, hence making the truck go into limp mode. I researched this problem and noticed that multiple 2005 Nissan Titans have had the same problem of this pin snapping causing the truck to go into limp mode because the solenoid receives now power. I was turning onto a main road where the speed limit was 35 so I accelerated thinking it would do so normal and make it before an oncoming car was coming, when the truck was slowly moving in front of the incoming car, I had to quickly put the truck into reverse to avoid the on coming car because I was excepting to make the turn before the car would come but the truck going into limp mode cause the truck to take much longer to barely make that turn. I was lucky to reverse quick enough for I do not know if the incoming car would have stopped or slowed down in time.
Abs warning light, slip light, tire deflation light, 4x4 warning light keep on intermittently while driving in the street. Accelerator does not work properly when the lights are on.
My job requires me to travel a lot and in doing so when I'm either merging onto the interstate or needing to pull out at intersections from a dead stop . It's as tho my truck stalls and my throttle response goes dead . Leaving the other cars do come close in rear ending me . It's scary especially when I have my wife along with my three kids ranging from 8 to 12 months of age .
2010 Nissan Titan pro-4x uncontrollably accelerated without driver input, resulting in a collision. I was driving down an aisle in a parking lot and began to apply the brake to slow down and turn left into a parking stall. Just as my vehicle was about to come to a stop and park, the engine revved (it felt/sounded like full throttle), the tires squealed and launched the vehicle forward resulting in a collision with a vehicle parked in the opposite stall. Because my foot was already on the brake pedal I managed to quickly depress it all the way and at least reduce the severity of the impact. To date, this is the first and only occurrence of a problem associated with vehicle speed control/accelerator.

From stopped position: 1-3 second or greater delay (lag) in acceleration to movement of vehicle. While driving: 1-3 second or greater delay (lag) in acceleration to response of vehicle. Jerking motion between gears. No predictability of applying acceleration while moving or stopped creating safety concerns. Nissan is aware and is stating this is normal. Occurs while driving all speeds including attempting to cross intersections or pass on highway.
This is the second Titan xd with the same issue "dead pedal" or no acceleration when pedal is pressed this is when the truck is being driven at various speeds. Nissan has attempted to fix with no know repairs at this time.
