Hatchback latch, an electrical component, failed to operate. Replaced switch but according to many technicians, problem is more involved. Nissan fails to acknowledge problem endemic (per on line complaints) that part is defective. Hatchback needs to be accessed in event of emergency. Cannot remove spare tire, jack, etc. Without opening hatchback. Vehicle was not in an accident and hatchback mechanism simply failed.
