I have a 2012 Nissan Versa with a shift knop problem I looked it up and it says it has a recall on this. I called the corp office to ask about the recall and she says that my car does not have the parts from the same part maker in the recall. I am having the same problem so why cant they fix my car.
I was driving and while the vehicle was in motion I inadvertently bumped into my gear shifter handle and my car shifted into reverse without the break being depressed or applied. I almost had an car crash/accident with the person directly behind me. In March of 2016 I contacted Nissan north America, inc. About this issue but they are not acknowledging that this is a safety defect. My car has aprroxametly 57,470 miles as of 03/30/2016 and Nissan north America is refusing to repair this dangerous defect free of charge because my vehicle was not on any Nissan or nhsta campaign recall lists. The referenced nhsta campaign recall id number associated with my vehicle issue is 12v032000 voluntary safety recall campaign 2012 Versa sedan shift selector campaign pm253 applied vehicles 2012 Versa(n17) applied transmission cvt.
I pulled up to a pump at a gas station, got out and went in the store to get a drink. Came back out and my car had locked up. The steering and brakes were both locked. Thank god I wasn't in motion when this happened. The car would not accelerate. I cut the car off and let it sit there before trying to start it again. It cranks but never turns over. There is a battery light, brake light, ps light and oil light on the dash. I researched it and everything indicated a bad alternator. I bought a Nissan alternator and put it on. Still never turned over. The fuel pump runs and I put some starting fluid into the throttle body and it started but died after a five seconds. Every Nissan dealership tells me they don't know what the problem is. Its my only car, I'm flat broke and I am walking 2 hours to work every day so I don't lose my job. I need to know what's wrong.
12/18/2015 driving the 2012 Nissan Versa sv on I-380 to us 101 during traffic hours. The car is at normal operating temperature. The car was going uphill, stepped on gas pedal, the rpm will no goes up neither the car move. The rpm will goes up in p or n only. Auto shop told me, when transmission gets hot. It will be not functioning correctly. Really happened to the car on the incident day, the car shift slow and vibrate a a lot. At higher speed with cruise control on or stable speed the rpm will goes from 2000-5000 up and down there is no any check light on the car. It was scary and dangerous.
Car squeakes when going over speed bumps or uneven road. Have already had transmission replaced and check engine light came on 4 different times for the mass air flow. My car has only 57,340 miles on it. When their was recall for the transmission, my car VIN was not included in the recall but, ended up having to be replaced. ???????.
The engine light is on. There is hesitation between 20-30 mph. I had a diagnostic test performed and was told: system: transmission, part number: 31036-3aa6b, dtc: p0740, detailed info: torque converter.
I owned a 2012 Nissan Versa and was involved in a traffic accident on July 3 2015, relating to the recall issued August 2015. The issue involved my inability to stop my vehicle from a collision when my shoelace got caught on the center console. The inability to apply the brakes caused my vehicle to enter on coming traffic, and was involved in an accident. The result was a total loss of my vehicle.
4 recalls ony vehicle. I was rear-ended on the freeway when I was at a full stop because of traffic and a driver behind impacted me at her full freeway speed because she didn't notice the traffic had come to a full stop. I was whiplashed several times, hit my forehead on the steering wheel very hard a couple of times but the airbags did not deploy. There is a lawyer on the accident case but no one at Nissan believed me when the airbags failed to delpoy- I was told the accident may not have been a strong enough impact but again the driver rear ended me at freeway speed (65mph min. ) and I and the rest of traffic come to a complete for about 2 minutes. The only other thing I noticed and I notified Nissan about was the passenger seat was not registering that a passenger was in the seat; the display showed that the passenger was not wearing a seat belt but that was not the case.
Vehicle not in motion hitted in the back while parked , another time in motion left door. Try to contact several dealers to schedule appointments for the recall they never contacted me back , waiting time was extremely long and schedules unavailable.
My wife and I were traveling on bangerter highway in south jordan, utah. For some reason, there was a latch failure on the hood of the car. There had been no warning, no rattling of the hood, no shaking etc. The hood simply flew up and smashed into the front windshield. This left me (I was driving) with no frontal vision. I was able to pull off the highway safely; but I do not know how I did that. The windshield was shattered (glass shards all over us), the hinges on the hood bent and caused a gash in the fender on each side, the hood was dented, and the top of the car near the windshield was also dented. I can not determine anything I could have done differently which would have saved me this awful situation.
Transmission. Car loosing power specially when going up a hil. When car is in motion will not go passed 45mph & feels like is going to give up. L took the car to Nissan dealer of buena park & was informed to trade in the car. In March 29 of 2015 car stop running took it to the mechanic & paid $1800 & car started runing.
When pressing the accelerator, the right side of the shoe gets stuck under the hard plastic on the right of the accelerator, making it hard to remove your foot from the accelerator. I have changed shoes, and the same thing still happens.
I bought my Nissan Versa 2012 in March of 2014 1 and a half later I took the car in for service at least 3-4 times waiting numerous hours , even days for - Honda dealership - to repair the transmission , brakes , and numerous other things . It was than considered a lemon by law . It kept giving us problems , I tried returning the vehicle and they promised another vehicle with the price I put down towards another vehicle , which we had signed for another vehicle , given keys , car was washed , after over 8-10 hours we're getting ready to leave, and a sales person confronts us saying they couldn't do the deal after all.
Transmission failed and needs to be replaced. This Versa was part of the recall for transmission safety. Nissan refuses to cover the replacement because it was 4000 miles outside of the warranty. I do not believe all the kinks are worked out. I recommend not purchasing a Nissan.
I am writing with to provide notification about a serious safety issue with my vehicle, a 2012 Nissan Versa, purchased on October 11, 2011 with approximately 42,000 miles. My car is unsafe to drive, and after several failed attempts to have Nissan address the issue, I believe that it is my duty to report this issue. On March 10, 2014 I was driving my vehicle on the highway and noticed that the tachometer was oscillating rapidly, even though I was driving at a constant speed via cruise control. Over the next several days this issue continued to persist both under local and interstate driving conditions. On March 15, 2014 I was driving my car when it suddenly stopped running. To fix the problem I had to come to a stop, put the car in park, take my key out of the ignition, and completely restart the car. Shortly thereafter this issue occurred while I was driving on a highway at a highway speeds. On March 17, 2014 I brought my vehicle to Nissan for consultation. It took them three weeks to diagnose the problem, at which time they said that car needed a new wiring harness. While they initially said that the problem would be covered under warranty, they subsequently retracted this and refused to cover it. I appealed to corporate Nissan twice advising that this is not a normal repair but a serious, potential life threatening safety issue and they rejected my appeals. Please note that Nissan confirmed that my vehicle is not the only Versa that has this problem, thus other Nissan owners may be subject to the same unsafe wiring harnesses. Since I am unable to afford the $2000 repair cost for a new harness, I have been forced to drive my vehicle as-is, which is a danger to me and other drivers on the road. If my vehicle stops running while I’m on the highway I could cause a very serious accident, and Nissan has shown minimal interest in acknowledging this problem.
January 2nd I was asked to jumpstart a vehicle in my driveway. Approximately 5 minutes later my Nissan Versa, with less than 33000 miles, caught on fire. The cables were hooked up correctly. Prior to this incident and at least three times, I had complained of a burning smell after highway driving. I was told by my insurance company, I should bring it to a Nissan dealer where a licensed Nissan mechanic could determine the cause of the fire. When the dealer neglected to do so, Nissan north America was called in to do an inspection. They completed their inspection and would not cover the expense or release the report to me or the Nissan dealer. They opted to keep the information undercover. I believe it is related to the recall on the shifter recall. This may have caused the torque converter to leak and the engine to catch on fire.
Car max dealer didn't really know. I think he said something about the finish, I'm. It sure. It was nothing about the insides of the car I just want to take care of it ASAP. N/a at Nissan I just bought it at car max I schaumburg I don't know I was told to contact you then go get it fixed at Nissan.
I put my car into reverse and was unable to depress the brake pedal and had to put the car in park to get it to stop while nearly hitting another vehicle. The low lights also have to avilable settings but one doesnt work so it stays the same no matter which one you put it on. Also why would I have an oil leak at 35,000 miles. My whole transmission apparently needed to be changed due to a broken or missing cap.
