In 2016 the driver side, front, outside door handle had broken off. I had it fixed only to have it broken off again this past spring. This time ordered the part myself right from Nissan. This was such an inconvenience of trying to open the door until it was fixed. Now the driver side back, outside door handle broke! just wondering if this has happened to anyone else?? I live in the country so there is no one around to damage it. It is parked in the driveway off the street.

Our car was traveling in a very slow speed on an on-ramp of interchange from freeway 110 north bound to 105 west bound in los angeles county. The traffic flow was in a very slow moving fashion. Since it was an uphill on ramp, I had to step on the gas pedal slightly to keep the car moving at a slow but steady speed. As the traffic got slower, I gently stepped on the brake to slow down the car. While I was holding down the brake pedal, suddenly I heard a "clunk" noise and felt a vibration. At this point, the car started moving on its own without a sign of slowing down. I immediately tried to step on brake with full force but felt the brake having no pressure at all. As the car continued to move forward with uncontrolled speed, the only thing I could do at that moment was to veer the car towards the right edge to avoid direct impact with the front car. By reading the owner's manual, I believed the anti-lock braking system function was being erroneously activated at the time of the incident since the dry and non-slippery road condition did not warrant such activation. And what made things even worse was, for whatever the reason, the car was moving on its own in an uncontrolled speed while the break pedal was completely losing the pressure due to the abs activation. This vehicle was being recalled and serviced for sudden acceleration safety concern due to the lower panel trim design in August. The liability insurance claim was filed for the accident. The mileage was 8740 at the time of accident. Photos of the accident scene are attached and along with other documents.

After unlocking my vehicle with the remote I pulled the handle to open the driver's door and it came off in my hand. There did not appear to be any other damage to the door or handle.
Recall 15v507000 has never been done on my v ersa. If it is a safety issue it should be fixed. Nissan is being allowed to get away with failignj to fix safety problem son calls. I find that NHTSA is not fining Nissan for failure to fix safety issues in cas. They let car profiteers get away with the safety problem on cars until people die. That is far too long and too wrong. I do not think congress meant fornhtsa to do nothing buntil people die.
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to be serviced under NHTSA campaign number: 15v573000 (suspension) when the dealer found a rusted mount and bolt which prevented the vehicle from being able to be repaired. The dealer diagnosed the rusted mount and bolt needed to be replaced in order for the vehicle to receive the recall repair. The vehicle's bolt was not repaired or was the recall repair completed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 61,436.
After driving home from the airport, we noticed something was not right. Less than two days later, I can barely drive my car without radiating pain from every little road bump. Took my car to the shop and shelled out over a grand to replace both front spring/struts. Now, less than 2 months later, my car is making a horrific rattling sound that shakes the entire car and I believe something is wrong (or even missing) from my exhaust pipe connection. After this, I did some research and the darn springs were recalled in October of 2015. Mine broke in March with less than 60000 miles.
Nissan of van nuys (5425 van nuys blvd, van nuys, CA 91401) sold us a new 2015 Versa that had an open safety recall (15v-507) and was on stop sale by the manufacturer, in violation of federal law and Nissan's direction to the dealership to remedy in stock vehicles prior to sale.
My driver's side door will no longer open from the inside, it can only open from the outside. I was simply parked and trying to exit my vehicle at the time of discovery, and I had to roll down my window to open the door from the outside. There was no specific incident that caused the handle to break, and there was no unusual wear & tear that could have caused the handle to break. We opened the door panel to see if we could find out why the handle wasn't working. We discovered the cord that connects to the handle is broken. Considering I have never done anything unusual with my door handle, I feel that this cord is a defect and should be recalled for other drivers as well.
The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to an inspection location where the vehicle was rejected due to severe rust and leakage from the exhaust system to the tail pipe. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 35,000.

Coming to a red light failed to brake and rear ended another vehicle. You think you are going to brake, but since the accelerator pedal is to close to the right side panel of the car , wont let your foot to move it easy and your foot gets stuck to the open cut area of the trim that the Nissan experts attempted to fix the problem under recall, and there were no brake lights on the car and was witnessed.
Takata recall, estaba guiando pasando por un puente en la carretera rural, cuando DE repente el cristal delantero se estillo del lado DE el chofer DE la esquina baja hasta 1'1/2 DE el centro del mismo,el cual esta roto.
Suspension: both sides front struts mounts and right side lower control arm, also called ball-joints are defective in just 3 years, right after the 36 months manufacture warranty expired. This is causing the car to bounce at moderate speed and more dangerously so on the highways. The vehicle would wander right to left uncontrollably. Steering u-joint defects: there is an ongoing noise while vehicle is driven and the steering column is shaking up unnecessarily and excessively.
I was driving around a curve on a city street when my driver side front coil spring snapped impacting the tire causing my vehicle to swerve over a median sustaining major damages to the undercarriage and body of the vehicle. Recall # 15v573000.
I was on my way to work one morning at 430am I was on the interstate. I felt a pull in my steering wheel and heard a big popping noise and pulled over to check on it and everything to me at that time looked ok. I keep driving 5 more mins or so and I heard the noise again and at that time my passenger tire was flat, I had to call a tow truck which costed me 160$. I thought it was just a regular tire blow out till my I take it to get fixed and my suspension had busted. I had to replace the front bumper (get it painted extra 135$), passenger side fender windshield wiper box, passenger fender well, abs senor cable, get the suspension fixed and the plastic piece that goes along under the doors. (the long piece along the bottom) a total of 670$ out of my pocket.
I opened my drivers door, the handle came completely off. The drivers door will not open from inside either. It sounds like it still works but nothing happens when you try to open it from the inside. The key will not open it, no outside door handle, possible interior plastic\electrical components broken. Vehicle still runs and drives fine. Powertrain is intact. Interior is falling apart due to cheap construction. Looked online to the Nissan forum board and saw many other people with same problem with door handles breaking for no apparent reason. Car is only equipped with one key entry on drivers side only. Keyfob and security system starting to break down. Went to Nissan dealership in steven point WI and they will only fix if I have money to repair. Ford dealership in wisconsin rapids where I bought the car said that the warranty does not cover this. Repair could cost me over $700+.
I was driving in a left turning lane slowing down when all of a sudden I heard a voice asking if I were ok? I came to and noticed the air bags were deployed and my Versa 's hood was smashed, along with the front sides. The car in front of me had a small dent on the rear bumper. Apparently I hit the vehicle in front of me. I am still in shock. I wear a size 14 shoe. I believe my foot came off the brake and hit the accelerator. My insurance company totaled my vehicle.
I was slowly parallel parking and backing up towards the sidewalk. Then, I wanted to move my foot from the gas to the brake in order to cut the wheel. But, I continued to back up. Before I could even think about why this was happening my car hit the tree at the edge of the sidewalk. At first, I chalked it up to . . . A strange/uncharacteristic poor physical reaction on my part. However, I have always felt like it was a very strange event and at the time there was a rise of panic as I realized my foot was not going over to the brake. Since it happened so quickly I could never tease out exactly what happened but I have felt as though my foot were stuck there on the accelerator. The impact with the tree loosened it. (I think). Now, I see recalls for other Nissans. The very night of the accident I actually googled the Nissan gas pedal . . . I went right to my VIN # and checked but my Nissan Versa 2012 was not one of them. However, I saw that last year other models (2013+) did have problems. I still had a weird feeling about it even though my version was not being investigated. And last week when I saw that on the news that 2012s were now also being recalled I went back to look up my VIN # and still no match. I think it is just weird. And, the whole thing happened in 1 sec. And over a span of maybe 3? feet . . . So it is really hard for me to decide exactly what was going on. My head was turned backwards and I was looking at the tree so I can't honestly say I looked down and saw my foot was stuck . . . Not sure if this is helpful or not but I thought I'd submit this even though I am not sure and let you all see what you think given other's complaints.
Hood latch failed while driving on freeway at about 70 mph. The hood flew up into windshield blocking all vision and damaging the hood, the roof, the side panels near the hood anchors and cracked the windshield.
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Versa. While the vehicle was being serviced, the independent mechanic discovered that the front cross member was worn and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.
Tl- the contact owns a 2015 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that they purchased the vehicle 35 days ago. While driving the vehicle over the next few days the contact realized that his foot was getting stuck on the gas pedal. The contact stated that there is something that looked like an electrical box between the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and inspected. The dealer stated that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle even though the box, which was three inches by three inches had not been removed. The contact then spoke to the manufacturer and was told that there was nothing that could be done to correct the problem. The contact stated that the box prevents them from being able to easily move their foot between the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal. Rl.
I was driving south and a car it me in the driver side door. Turned me around 360degrees the hold front in of the car was gone. I had broken bones in my right leg, and foot was in the hospital for 5 days then sent to a rehab for 8 weeks then was given 2 months of therapy to be able to walk. I lost my job because of being off work for long. Still in my 2 months of therapy. Airbags exploded and torn all to pcs.
Driving in neighborhood very slow speed when front coil spring broke causing it to rupture the front tire (it popped). Luckily I was driving 25 mph or could have been a major problem. Saw on news today they have had over 130,000 complaints so far- this is obviously a defect, it is going to cost close to $1700 today to get it fixed.
I got off the holt exit off 10 east, a piece of plywood was in the middle of the road and hit the left side of car. My left side rim's are damaged.

After being ready to back up I place the2014 Versa in reverse. I touched the alerator and started to back up and when I tried to move my foot from the accelerator to the brake pedal my foot was caught on something and I was actually added pressure on the accelerator. I backed up and I tried to swing the car away from the parked rental cars behind me. Was able to pull my foot of the accelerator and pushed the shifter into park. I hit three cars when I was backing up. We damaged our rear facia and the rear facias of the three cars I hit and it also damaged the rear passenger door of last car I hit. While examining the damage of form the accident a supervisor from the rental company said we shouldnt feel so bad since one of their drivers had done something similar but only damaged the car that he was moving. At first I didnt know what could have caused it and then I saw the recent ntsb issues for this. I also check all of my other cars. Those cars do not have a gap between the floor board and the side of the consel. I have not got to a local dealership to see if the condition exists on current models. The model year might not be correct I was just trying to remember is this was a 14 or 15. The VIN I got from the insurance company so it has to be what ever comes from there.
Step daughter stated brake pedal went completely to the floor without engaging the brakes causing her to crash into the back of another vehicle.
This is an event similar to odi resume (pe 14-018) opened on 06/24/2014 by the national highway traffic safety administration. Similar to complainant, voq 10597004, my foot was trapped by the trim panel. Panel is located next to the accelerator pedal and the lower corner is positioned such that it is near the right outer edge of the driver's shoe. Also similar to complainant 10573057, when attempting to remove my foot from the accelerator pedal to apply the brake, my shoe was caught by the trim panel which delayed braking ability several times. It is important to note that this vehicle was purchased from a rental facility, enterprise car sales in elmwood park, NJ. The photographs in odi resume pe 14-018 illustrate the same safety issue I am having with my vehicle.
We live in virginia, while my 18 year old was driving out of high school to come home he felt a huge bump coming around the corner coming home (thank goodness he was close to our neighborhood and not in the highway). He stopped the vehicle close to the house and noticed that as he was turning the coils must have hit the tire but due to the rust under the car from the salt the muffler fell off. This could have cause some severe damage to someone driving behind him if he was driving faster or in the highway. I have called Nissan cooperation first to explain the situation. But since Nissan representative made a spectacle of herself when I told her I had cancer and its the only vehicle we have that my son takes me to appointments they unavoidably have been avoiding to call me back. . She told me I dont sound like I have cancer!! I didnt call for ignorance I called to have my issue resolved not to have my cancer thrown in my face. They had my claim number #21697765 transferred to their head office due to the insensitivity and the issue. Their head office calls and leaves me messages at the worst times of the day and never calls me back when I call. I am adding a picture of the rusted muffler and the damage it could have caused my son and his life and others on the road! truly this is irresponsible on Nissan's part!!! I haven't even passed 67000 miles on my car. Please know that allstate was called and advised of issue on Feb. 17,2015 same day as incident. My representatives name was sarah and she advised me to call Nissan and they must supply a better part or a better vehicle due to a lack of response and lack of safety parameter of my sons life and if I was I the vehicle, my life!.
Ceiling (interior roof) is leaking when it rains in the area where the driver side window meets the windshield, near the top of the pillar? I think it is called. Dont know why. But im afraid it may do damage to any parts inside there. I do not have a sunroof. I notice it when the car is parked outside or when it is raining and im driving. In the enclosed photo you can see where the water has left a stain.
I purchased a new 2105 Nissan Versa 4dr. Sedan in January 2015. I bought a basic car, as I desire. The car has non-power windows and non-remote or power door locks. I discovered later that the car does not have any way on the passenger side to access the car if the doors are locked. There is no keyhole on the passenger side. The locked car cannot be accessed on the passenger side in an emergency (or if the driver's side is blocked such as by a car parking too close or an object) . In my case, I have two children who ride in the back. What makes this worse is the car has a child safety feature that makes the doors impossible to open from the inside if a button is pushed in the door jambs (by a parent). If the feature is engaged, a person (parent) cannot get access to the car except thru the driver's door which might be blocked. This set of circumstances renders the car inherently unsafe in my view. Nissan cut a corner here to save money and has caused this safety concern as a result. This car should be considered unsafe.
Gas door release is immediately next to hood release with no distinguishing tactile differences. Hood release was accidentally pulled, along with gas door release. Car was driven from station and, after hitting bump in road, was released. Fortunately, speed wasn't great enough for the hood to fly back into windshield. Design and location of controls is a serious problem with this vehicle.
