The car is a manual transmission. I stalled the vehicle by accident and after turning the engine on again the vehicle experienced loss of power as if it was in some kind of limp mode. The cars now able to accelerate past 25-30 mph in any gear for the remainder of the trip home.

Limp mode when pushing in clutch to start car. Car will not go above 40mph randomly must turn car off and hope it resets.
I have a manual transmission and can usually go up a steep hill by my house in 3rd gear. But on this occasion in 2nd gear I was unable to maintain speed even with the gas pedal all the way to the floor. It was also having trouble maintaining speed on less steep highway hills. The dealer replaced the alternator which helped, but I feel this puts my safety and others at risk because I was going much slower than expected and felt that I might not even be able to get up the hill. After the alternator was replaced, it has not happened again. There were no warnings then or after, but the dealer said there a code for fuel sensor that they could detect with their computer.
I have serval codes from varies companies, o'reilly's, luther Nissan dearlership from April to June 2025, the code is p0012, camshaft. The vehicle intermittently does not have power and I could easily be rear ended. Even thought luther Nissan has had code p0012, camshaft they have not fixed it. I brought it to luther Nissan 3 times since 4/22/25 to 6/2/25. Luther said,"valvoline put transmission fluid in oil, said they drove it for 100 miles and found nothing, said old and current code on the same day and finally said you need a new battery. I bought a new battery. It happened again and I brought to a different certified shop on 7/11/25. Waiting to hear back. I have very detailed paperwork and many family/neighbors know. If I have an accident they know to sue luther and Nissan.

I had experienced a power loss. I could not go over 50 mph on the highway. I'm a new driver so I believe this was because I've been stalling it quite a bit and restarting the car.
It's happened three times now that the car will simply fail to accelerate no matter how much the pedal is pushed. It is extremely dangerous because this has happened on the freeway and caused us to pull over and wait for the car to become responsive again. This is an automatic transmission. There doesn't seem to be an active recall for this and I can't understand why as I see online a lot of people reporting the same issue. This is dangerous and unacceptable for a new car. It was bought new off the lot and has minimal mileage.
It won’t let me go over 30 without the rpm’s significantly increasing and transmission light is on.

My 2024 Nissan Versa s goes into a "limp mode" almost any time I stall and then turn the engine back on. In this limp mode, acceleration is dangerously slow. Often acceleration is so weak that if I drive up a hill in this limp mode, the car will lose speed even while I'm pressing the gas pedal all the way to the floor. This can easily be reproduced and inspected by purposely stalling the car in a quiet parking lot and then trying to accelerate out onto a road. In this mode I cannot reach safe speeds on major roads in a timely manner. I have to turn my hazards on and let people go around me as I accelerate for a full minute. On highways and major roads with higher speed limits this is quite dangerous. When stuck in this mode I do not have the ability to accelerate fast enough to get out of the way of any oncoming danger. If this mode turns on in a safe quiet area, I may be able to turn the car off and on until the issue goes away, but if I stall at a busy traffic light, I'm now in a dangerous situation until I can get off the road and to a safe spot to turn off the car and test that the limp mode has gone away. Also, turning the car off and on doesn't always work. I have on two separate occasions been stuck in limp mode for multiple drives. The Nissan dealership in wake forest, nc confirmed that they know about this issue and said they don't currently have a fix for it. A check engine light has turned on two times after entering limp mode, they erased the code and it has never come back since despite still going into limp mode.
I am adding my own experience to previous reports of the car entering limp mode after popping the clutch. It has happened to me three or four times: when the car has accidentally stalled and turned off, after turning the car back on, the car accelerates very slowly, much slower than normal. Typically, this problem resolves at the end of a trip after the car has been turned off for a while.

While driving down the highway, the vehicle significantly lost power while going up a hill, so much so that I had to downshift into 2nd gear in order to maintain and not lose speed. This is incredibly dangerous as I was only able to climb the hill at about 20 mph while the flow over traffic was 55 mph.
I stalled my vehicle (5-speed manual) in a drive through. I quickly restarted the vehicle and proceeded through. When I pulled out onto the main road my car had no power. There was nowhere safe to pull over so I had to continue. My car would not accelerate above 20mph and even that was extremely hard. I had to downshift to 1st gear to proceed up the hill. Finally, I was able to pull off and restart my car. This fixed the issue and I was able to drive home. I’ve not stalled the car before so I had never experienced this issue. I’ve read about it, and having it happen is terrifying. Had the car who was driving behind me been going faster, I likely would have been hit when I pulled out of the drive through. This is extremely dangerous.
The vehicle loses power, at a certain point it does not accelerate and does not respond well, which is a major safety problem when you need it on the road.
After car stalls, the vehicle enters limp mode. I’ve also randomly lost power and can barely accelerate. It’s very alarming and dangerous.
Car stalled on highway. Car would not push pass 20 mph no matter how much I pressed on the gas. Eventually car stopped moving and this happened on the highway while I was driving normally and then it slowed down and then stopped. This happened before about 5 months ago and I turned car off and it drove again so didn't think of an issue until today when it happened again and didn't move. I had to wait 2hrs for a tow to the Nissan dealer for service in the morning.
I just purchased my 2024 Nissan Versa two weeks ago August 24, 2024. Since I have had it my car doesn’t seem to want to shift speed like it should. My transmission seems to be stalling to change out. My car also constantly makes a growling noise when left I’m on my brakes sitting. I took my car back to the dealerships and they tried tell me that it was the compressor which is false my ac nor my defrost is on. I really need this problem resolved. The noise it’s making is unbelievable coming from a brand new car.
Intermittently the car will not accelerate when needed. It becomes excrutiatingly and terrifyingly slow. This is life-threating when coming into highway speed traffic from an exit ramp. On the highway, I've had cars slam on brakes behind me as I tried to accelerate from traffic lights. I saw no warning lamps.
I was practicing manual transmission on my new Nissan Versa and when I stalled, that check engine light came on and I lost a lot of power in all gears. In first gear, there’s also a whine that goes with it, and I don’t think that’s normal.
Problem description: loss of acceleration in 5-speed manual s trim model. It seems that almost every time you stall this car, it will enter a "limp mode" or something like that, where your rpms are capped for the rest of the drive, until you turn off the car and fully restart it. In this mode, even in 1st gear, you can go (from a stop) about 5 mph tops, if there is any incline. I am a new standard transmission driver, so stalling is at the moment not rare. This means my car enters this dangerous state often. 1. I am unsure what exact component(s) failed, or even if this is a fail rather than some intentional "safe" mode. 2. Because I live in the hill country, acceleration from a stop is almost nothing in this "limp" mode, which put me in a very dangerous situation. It caused me to crawl through an oncoming traffic lane as I was turning left into a turn lane, since I did not realize this mode had been activated. Had I been shooting a gap in traffic, I would have likely been hit at 70+ mph. 3. Not as of yet, but online research suggests this is not a new issue. 4. No. 5. No. This is a brand new car, and this limp state is not indicated by anything other than extreme loss of power until you reset the car.
While driving on city streets the check engine light came on and I was unable to accelerate or maintain speeds above 30mph. Because the car couldn’t operate at posted speed limits, other vehicles were stuck behind me or had to go around. It was also slow to start at traffic signals. I will be taking the vehicle to the dealer shortly for further diagnosis.
I was taking my 23 Versa m/t to the dealer for its 10. 000 mile service and upon driving the vehicle while pulling away from a stop sign I stall the vehicle and after that there was a significant loss of power, restarting the engine did not help. When I got to the dealership I did not shut the engine off and told them about the issue and said it was a safety issue and did not have the power to get out of the way in a emergencysituation. Unfortunately they claimed they could not duplicate the issue and requested to hold the vehicle for further investigation. Before the vehicle le was stalled there were no warning lamps or check engine lights or any symptoms prior nor any warning lamps on the wa to the dealership while the issue consisted. This problem has happened twice before while my wife was on the way to work and after her shift the vehicle preformed normal.
When starting my car it started for a second and stalled and when I restarted the car the car started accelerating extremely slow and wouldnt go past 20 mph.
The contact owns a 2024 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled and went into limp mode. The contact pulled over to the shoulder of the roadway. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle. In addition, the contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed with the accelerator pedal depressed, the vehicle failed to respond as intended. The contact stated that the failure had occurred several times since the vehicle was purchased a week prior. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 429.
Twice, when I have been backing up a hill I have stalled the vehicle. After each time I have re started the vehicle, but shortly realized that I could not accelerate past 40 mph. I can get the rpms up and shift through the gears but speed does not increase. There are no warning lights or anything on the dash. I was able to pull over and shut the vehicle off for around 15 minutes after which I started the vehicle and was able to drive normally. The service center at the dealership I purchased the car from said that no codes were found, and that they couldn't replicate the issue.

I stalled the vehicle then noticed a little later that my acceleration was greatly reduced. I could not get up to 20 mph with my accelerator pedal all the way pressed while in 3rd gear.
The car is not safe to drive. The car enters limp mode, restricting the acceleration and rpms of the vehicle. Driving on the highway in speed zones of 50-65 mph puts the driver and other motorists at risk because the car cannot accelerate normally. Driving on back roads in speed zones <50 puts the driver and other motorists at risk because the car lacks the power and speed to climb hills. There are also many blind curves on the back roads, adding another hazard. There is no indication that the car has entered limp mode--no warning lights or messages. The only way to know that you're in limp mode is to experience the symptoms. This mode cannot be reliably entered in any single way. The stalling of the engine seems to be related; however, the car does not enter limp mode after every stall and limp mode isn't always entered after a stall. I have experienced the mode on the highway and on back roads. The onset of the mode has happened from initial start up and while driving. Acceleration and the ability to climb hills is impeded whenever this mode is engaged. 3 out of 4 times that I experienced the car entering this mode were preceded by a stall. One of the stalls occurred when the backup sensor mistakenly detected an object and the car automatically braked. The other two stalls occurred after the clutch had already been released. 2 out of the 4 times that I experienced the car entering this mode, the car had driven for 20+ miles before entering limp mode, including at highway speeds. The 1 instance that was not preceded by a stall, the car could not accelerate to highway speed and could not climb hills in any gear but 1st gear. The car stayed in this mode the first restart and only exited the mode after 15 minutes before restart. The last instance was 3/25/24. The Nissan service center where I brought the car to was able to replicate the issue by stalling the car in 3rd gear. The same service center entered the claim to Nissan on March 26, 2024.
Vehicle felt underpowered and wouldn’t accelerate only would rev up. Problem went away after turning vehicle off and letting it sit for a bit. Shouldn’t be happening on a 2024 vehicle I got with 0 miles.
Speed control, engine and transmission issues: after the recall from the manufacture was issued for the the acceleration problems this car still takes long to accelerate and get the car going. It feels like the transmission/ and or engine is ready to go out also and this car is only roughly at 80,000 miles. This car is well maintained.

Sometimes whenever I first start the car or stall the car and restart it a false code is triggered that significantly reduces the power of the car. The car will not go much faster than 40 in this mode and accelerates extremely slow. Turning the car off and waiting for a minute before starting it has fixed this problem for me so far. I have seen other people online with this car reporting this same issue and it really is a safety issue when the car accelerates that slow. The vehicle has not been tested by anyone other than me. There are no other warning lights or problems prior to the incident.
Multiple incidents where car has failed to accelerate properly. When it happened this morning, I was in the vicinity of the dealership. Foreman mechanic road-tested vehicle with me, and back at Nissan my car put out the engine code p2615-00 camshaft posi signal b1. . . I was told this is a known concern on manual transmission Versa vehicles that is "being looked into by engineering. " on a previous visit to the dealership about this problem, I was told that the acceleration problem could have been caused by bugs covering the front crash sensor! anyway, on a couple occasions, when merging into traffic, this problem was dangerous. . I've resorted to my emergency blinkers a couple times. . . . Then, upon being able to pull over, I shut off the car, and when I re-start the vehicle it runs like a champ again.
For some reason my car won’t accelerate. Went to Nissan twice and they can’t do anything about it. I was on second gear almost stalling out on a slight hill and no acceleration on third gear that one time I was merging onto the highway.
If you stall the car, upon restart there is a great degree of power loss. It seems like it's the vdc system turned up to the max, where it's limiting engine power, and applying the brakes. It makes the car much slower and difficult to get up to speed. This can cause a safety risk as it causes the car to perform unpredictably. When this happens, in order to reset the system and make it work normal, I need to turn the car off, get out, close the door, then get back in and turn it back on. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? I suspect it has something to do with the ecu/vdc system how was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? if I need to get out of the way of something, or need to get up to speed on the highway, in any of those scenarios it could put me at risk. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? not that I know of, but I haven't taken it to the dealer regarding this issue yet. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? not that I know of were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no.
2023 Nissan Versa s has manual transmission. Car will intermittently lose acceleration. When this problem starts, car is unable to go over 30mph in any gear and even with the accelerator pedal pushed to the floor. This has occurred 5 times so far. Sudden loss of speed creates a life threatening situation when driving on a highway and speeds of 65 mph are expected. The car will suddenly drop to 30mph or lower without any warning and will not accelerate. Problem is not fixed by restarting the engine. Car was taken to premier Nissan of fremont, California on 10/20/23. They reported: 2560 did not verify customer concern. Road tested with additional technician, drove vehicle in every gear from 1-5 5mph to 65 mph. Also down shifted from there and no hesitation or loss of power was felt. Vehicle moves fine in all gears. All ok at this time. Car was returned to me on 10/24/23. Gps locator on car indicates that car was always parked at dealership for the 4 days and not driven. I connected a obd code reader to the car's port and it reports camshaft position error but premier Nissan of fremont, California refused to take that input saying they did not want to influence their technician. After the "no-problem" diagnosis they stated that they do not see any history of issues on their Nissan supplied obd reader. Hence the car has no problem. I am fearful of driving it on the freeway and loosing acceleration which will result in me getting rear ended and killed!!!.

I've owned this car less than a month and this has happened to me twice. I start to drive the car and experience a severe loss of power. The accelerator is pushed to the floor and the car barely moves. This happened when I was attempting to pass another vehicle. Could have had disastrous consequences. No indication on the dashboard that anything is wrong. If this happened while trying to merge onto a highway the results could be catastrophic.
