Front coil spring fell out from under the car as I was pulling out of a parking spot. If I was going any faster it could have been very dangerous if it punctured a wheel.

I was turning out of a parking space when I heard a loud pop. I continued to drive home, hearing noise whenever I turned the wheel. My husband took a look at the car when I got home. We discovered that the strut coil had broken and was rubbing the tire. I was lucky that it didn't blow my tire.

I was making a right turn when I hear a snap and then passenger tire gets popped and deflates. At an intersection going 10 to 15 mph. It turns out my front spring on the passenger side collapsed and has snapped a peice of spring into my tires blowing it. I haven't driven this car for long, and drive quite safely. I since had to purchase new fires and now stuck with my springs still collapsed. Should this incident have happened while driving highway, there would most likely be a case of an accident and risk of injury as the incident happened quite suddenly, luckily I wasn't at high speeds. Also, my front bumper has suffered damage as a result of the extreme height decline from tire and spring incident. First impressions tells me the springs (and muffler) use an alloy that suffers from extreme accelerated corrosion/rust after seeing the muffler and springs. But I'd need to investigate further.

The coil spring on my front passenger side tire broke in two and then moved out of place to damage and eventually pop my tire (in a matter of minutes). The edges of the break on the spring are very jagged and tore away the rubber from my tire as I was driving.

Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that while making a left turn into her driveway, the front driver's side wheel detached and became lodged in the tire well. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or diagnosed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000. Sg.
I bought this car on 02/14/2014 and yesterday was the forth tire to go flat all four have been on the back driver side. The first two I'm not 100% on what caused it as I just assumed I ran over a nail the first time and then just had bad luck on the 2nd time. The third time (starting in October of 2014-right after the 2nd flat and getting a brand new tire) the tire pressure light would come on. Would check and it would be low. I took it back to the location I got the new tire from and they could not find anything wrong with it. When a few months with no problems. In December the light came on, took to a dealership to get oil changed. . . They found nothing wrong with it. . . They filled it with air. Again I had no problems until it was time for an oil change, again the dealership found nothing wrong. This has happened a few time. In April it happened again, but a lot quicker. I took it to dealership, nothing. Next day it was flat again had to put air in it twice so I took it back to dealership, again they found nothing. The next day it happened again had to put air in it twice, again took it back to dealership (yap three days in a row). Left it there all day. They found a pin hole in the side. I bought a new tire. Yesterday I was driving and the back driver side tire blow. This time there is a inch side slash on the out side of the tire. In the same place as the pin hole in the other tire. It looks like maybe the seem where the bumper is attached to the car is to sharp or ruff and killing that tire. I still have the two tires with the issues and will try to work with the dealership to get this fixed.

The coil spring on the passenger side front broke almost spearing my tire as I was about to back out of my garage. This vehicle sits in a garage all year round and is used daily. Luckily I did not make it out of my driveway or I may have gotten hurt at 65 mph or worse gotten someone else hurt because of this manufactures defect.
Right front coil spring snapped. Burst the tire. Had to be towed to Nissan dealer. Both front coil springs within 1000 miles, vehicle only has 31000 miles on it. Faulty part. Could cause an accident. (have made a complaint for each spring on this site. ).
After smelling rubber burning and the car not handling correctly. I checked the suspension to find both coil springs (passenger and drivers side) were broken. The drivers side broken coil was applying pressure to the inside wall of the tire wearing a large groove in the entire diameter of the tire. This could have cause serious injury and must be addressed by Nissan and or the supplier of the springs. The repair was expensive (coil, struts and a tire).
I got off the holt exit off 10 east, a piece of plywood was in the middle of the road and hit the left side of car. My left side rim's are damaged.
Tl-the contact owns a 2014 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that there is a front end issue with the steering on the vehicle. In addition, the contact stated that the interior of the side walls of the tires were cut and the front end coil springs have fractured. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 12,500. Ad.
I went out to start my car back in March and saw that I had a flat tire. I thought it was a routine flat tire until I went to get the car repaired and they billed me for $1500 & explained how my struts on my front wheels busted so bad that it was pushing on my tires puncturing the front passenger tire. They went on to explain further how I must have hit something extremely hard b/c those are very difficult to break. Since there was nothing but the occasional bump in the road I hit I realized that something had to be wrong with the strut and springs. This complaint is motivated by the fact that my struts and springs could have broken during my routine trips on the highway between bloomington and indianapolis. If they would have broke at that time while traveling between 50-70 mph I would have been in a high speed accident that could very easily have taken my life or the others around me.
The ball joint has broken off my car once (not while in an accident or on a pot hole), and has been replaced three times since the incident.
I noticed that something was wrong with "feel" of right front wheel so took vehicle in for oil change and tire rotation and asked service to check on that wheel issue. He called me in to see that the right front suspension spring had totally cracked and broken off and had been rubbing on the inside of the tire creating a deep groove in the rubber. It was worn through and close to puncturing and could not even be driven to a dealer. This vehicle has under 37000 miles on it and has been totally maintained and not driven on any poor road surfaces. This was a 15 month old tire with about 14000 miles. Totally destroyed in what was a potentially life threatening situation due to a faulty part. Not normal wear and tear for springs. The mechanic said he sees this spring breakage on a lot of Versas and the Nissan dealer acknowledged that Nissan is "aware" of this problem! these vehicles should be recalled and all suspension springs replaced immediately before there is a fatal accident on the highway. I am afraid to drive knowing the left side could crack at any time. I am also concerned that if only Nissan dealers are reporting the repairs that they do, many repairs by independent mechanics are going unreported to Nissan.
During the month of may 2014 the Versa started to make clicking noises at the front of the car especially when I applied the brakes. The sounds got worse and the car was not performing well. I took it to the service station in my neighbourhood and the person who repaired my car had to replace the 2 front strut mounts, 2 front coil springs and align the 4'wheels! the car only had 5420 miles on it at that time. Now today, I took the car back to the service person as the car is making the same clicking noises and the steering column is making noise when I turn it to the right! I sent an email to Nissan today to inform them of these problems and also to let them know that the car was taken in again today for more problems that have arisen! thank you.
I was driving down the road when suddenly one of my hub caps came off. Next week, I was driving again and my other hub cap on the same side came off. This cannot be a coincidence. I know several people who have Nissan Versa's and they also are having the same issue.
I was pulling into a parking spot and I heard a loud snapping noise from the front left of the car. I was able to drive the car home as nothing appeared to be broken. When I took the wheel off I noticed the spring had snapped and was rubbing against my tire. I will have to replace my tire because it rubbed off a significant amount of rubber. I am lucky the tire didn't blow while I was driving.
On the 21st of April 2014 my wife left work. As she was reversing the car she heard a loud grinding noise and then a boom. The front right tire blew out. She found a large sheered off metal piece underneath the car. We took the car in the next day to a professional service. They found out that the spring was completely destroyed. The cost to fix everything including the tire was $720. The worse part is that they only had oem parts available. This means that they had to put the same defective springs back on our car. After I filed a report with consumer affairs Nissan contacted me back saying that they will not honor this defective part. We purchased our car in the summer of 2010. The spring lasted only four years. Had this been on the highway my family could have been seriously injured, especially during this recent winter. This is our only car and we have three children under three years old. No one should buy a Nissan Versa, period, if they care about the safety of their family.
The tire pressure sensor continually lights up causing panic and extreme inconvenience. We never know if the tires are flat or if it is a malfunction. We have checked online and found several complaints. When we took it to the dealership we were told that we were responsible for fixing the problem. How can this be? the malfunction is almost always on the freeway and at very dangerous times and unsafe areas. The dealership was well aware of the problem, but had no intention of helping us. This is something Nissan knows about, it is unsafe and needs to be fixed!.
I was driving my 2010 Nissan Versa to work on March 12, 2013 when I heard a grinding sound coming from my front driver side tire area. I wasn't far from work so I drove there and called my mechanic. He picked up my car and found that a coil spring had broke. He told me it needed to be replaced but that he would suggest that I replace the struts and coil springs on both tires. He got the parts in the next day and fixed it all for me. About a week ago I read about a possible defect that is under investigation for coil springs braking and slicing tires on the Nissan Versa's. Although in my instance it didn't result in a car crash I feel that it is important for me to let you know that I did have a coil spring brake. I also had called Nissan and had told them about it happening. They told me that it is normal wear and tear on the vehicle. My Versa didn't even have 50,000 miles on it yet but that is normal wear and tear? we have always driven our cars until they had well over 100,000 miles on them and never did even one of them have a coil spring break. If something does come of this defect I would like to get the money back that I spent replacing my struts and coil springs.
Car tired keep deflating every 2-3 days. Three times stuck at different places unable to move my car, until my husband get there to inflate the tired. I have being told is the sensor valve for the tire which control the tpms system. I call the dealer in laurel and they charge 265. 00 for that, but many of the same car, had that problem and file a recall. This can cause an accident.
Left front coil spring snapped and is hitting left front tire. Car worked fine on Friday. Went out to garage sat. Morning to run errands and when I pulled out of the garage I heard a strange noise. Parked it and called my brother who came to look at it and noticed the snapped coil spring hitting the tire. Car is going to the repair shop this afternoon and expect at least a $350. 00 charge. I went online and saw many complaints on this same issue and apparently Nissan has not issued a recall. I just thank god it was parked and I wasn't driving it.
The contact owns a 2009 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that the struts were prematurely wearing the tires. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that all four tires and struts needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. In addition, the contact discovered that the driver side coil spring fractured. The vehicle was unable to be driven and the part to repair the vehicle was ordered. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 37,000.
A lady (1) fall asleep then crash on lady (2), then lady (2) crash on our car, but instead of braking the lady (2) she pushes her accelerator crashes and pushes our car to lady (3) in front of us. Our tire explodes, the airbag passenger did not blow out and my wife has a neck injury. My daughter 4 y/old is fine. We have a police report. The car declared total loss. Hospital bill for my wife and a lots of nightmare for my daughter and headaches for the husband.
Coil spring on passenger front side snapped and damaged the tire to bring a complete flat tire while driving.
My 2010 Nissan Versa tire rims has major rust on all four rims. I live in georgia - pretty much warm weather, little to no snow. Where is this rust coming from and is the whole frame rusted out. I am very concern.
My Nissan Versa's front left passenger tire was losing air every few days. When I took it to an auto shop nearby, they found that the aluminum valve stem has cracked and that's what is causing the leak. This faulty valve stem could have lead to tire failure and potentially serious accident. Please advise how to go about addressing this issue.
Vehicle was in motion on a highway when it unexpectedly started shaking and sliding/skidding from side to side ending in a crash. Furthermore, malfunctioning airbags resulted in severe cuts, bruises and other injuries to face and other body parts.
My Nissan started leaking air out of the tires. . . . All 4 of them. My son-in-law filled them up to the correct pressure and in a day or two they would be down 4,5, or sometimes 8 lbs. This went on for months until I took it back to the dealership. They said there were no recalls on it. (I asked). They did plug one tire because it had a nail in it, but the other three they said "were just fine". They added pressure to the tires, I paid them and away I went. Two days later when I got in the car, the tire pressure light was on again. Took it back down to my- son-in-law, he looked at it and the pressure was down 6 lbs. In each tire. Went out and bought 4 new tires two days ago. My friend who has a Versa bought new tires, but it didn't solve her (same) problem. Holding my breath and hoping mine will be ok. Why didn't the dealer know of the defect in the tire pressure valve,or were they playing stupid because I was a woman?.
Vehicle has been in 2 collisions over 2 year span. Once t-boned by another car, second time front end collision. First time passenger side door received severe damage, second time major front end damage. Never or neither time did any airbags deploy. Vehicle was doing 35 mph at least each time. Have children and family whom are in vehicle often. Worried about all our safety. Thank you very much , with regards.

While sitting in the yard we heard a metal clang sound coming from one of the cars. We looked but could not tell which car it came from. Later when I started to drive the car on the highway the front passenger tire shredded. This was due to the front passenger side spring being broken. We later found the broken piece where the car was parked. The vehicle only had 48,684 mostly highway miles on it.
I backed up my car in the morning from parking lot, heard an unusual noise. Stopped the car and could not find anything wrong. As I started driving the car, even though the car was moving as usual a strange noise was coming from the front passenger side. Just before pulling to the nearest mechanic, smoke started coming from the car and soon the front passenger tire burst with a loud noise. Immediately pulled the car to the shoulder and found a broken coil spring fell on the road . The same issue happened to me couple of months back where the driver side (front) coil spring broke and popped out when the car was backed up in the parking lot (tire did not burst as I was already in a mechanic shop for an oil change). I think the Nissan Versa 2009 hb model coil spring has an issue specially when the vehicle is backed up( may be with the steering in a certain position). This is a life threatening issue if such things happen in a highway as the coil spring break followed by a tire burst can risk the lives of passengers.
I have a 2007 Nissan sentra. Shortly after buying it the tire pressure sensor light came on. I took it to pepp boys and spent money replacing the sensor on the wheel. The light has never gone off. All four window seals have come loose. The ac has stopped working. The fan will not work for a couple of days and then all of the sudden I will turn on on the car and it work one moment.
I parked my Nissan Versa in a parking lot while I was at work all day. I hadn't had any problems with it. When I got in to leave in the evening and put the car in drive and went forward a few inches, I heard a horrible crunching noise like I hit something. When I backed up to see what was under my car, I just saw a metal horseshoe shaped broken piece on the ground. My mechanic says it is a coil spring that broke. I've seen many complaints about this from Nissan Versa owners. The broken part didn't seem rusty at all. I don't know why this happened. The car hasn't been in an accident. It seemed to happen out of the blue.
