Transmission failure.
I was in MD interstate 97 going north at 65 mph when my vehicle started to shake intensely that I had to slow down which nearly cause a multiple collision(at least 4) from a vehicle behind hitting me. As I slowly moved to the side, the vehicle jerked forward that nearly hit another vehicle. Brought it to pep boys and assessed caused by transmission and I was advised to bring it to the dealer. Nissan dealer diagnosed coolant leaking into the transmission. Coolant also leaking from the upper and lower radiator and radiator is also leaking. This looks like a mechanical issue that definitely lead and cause safety issue.
2006 Nissan Xterra: I replaced the radiator & had the transmission flushed last August(cost nearly $2k) . A couple of weeks ago after going about 60 miles the vehicle was not engaging to accelerate. It was a one time occurance. Today after about 20 miles it did not accelerate as I was attempting to merge onto the highway. I could not get it to go over 20 mph but was reving at 4rpm. Now the check engine light is on.
My transmission went. . . . The coolant was leaking into the transmission and over time ruined it. Barely made it to the transmission shop who charged $3900 that I don't have. This is a Nissan fault and I should be compensated, even though I'm over the absurd low mileage limits. Please help!.
My car was making a rattling noise so I took it to the Nissan dealer to inspect it an find out what it was, they told me that it was the secondary timing chain and that it was not covered by warranty an or recall. As searched online found that many others had the same problem with their cars, and that Nissan knew about this and never revealed it to the public or had a recall for this problem, so that the replacement would fall onto the consumer. ( this pertains to the secondary timing chain and other assoc. Parts).
My 2006 Nissan Xterra would lunge forward when I was traveling at 40-45 mph. It would first jerk forward when I would go from slowly moving to accerlerating, like when you began to move after sittiing at a red light. The light turns green, you slowly start to move and then you press the gas to accelerate andthe car would jerk forward. Then the car had problems shifiting out of 1st gear before I was about to get on the interstate after leaving work. I decided to take the back route because I did not want to have an accident. I stopped at 2 mechanics on the way home. Each told me I would have to take the car to the dealer. I was abe to get the car to the dealer and was then told that the radiatior and the transmission needed to be fixed as there was a mix of the radiatior and transmission fluid due to a leak and it would cost $5050. I was totally shocked! I had not any other major problems and the vehicle was checked regularly. I specifically asked the asm guy, who checked in my vehicle and told me the specifics of what was going on after the technician looked at it, was this a common occurrence and his response was, "it happens but better than buying a new car. " it just didn't make sense. I then had my vehicle towed to a transmission repair shop because it would not shift into first gear. This is when I was told of the radiator leaks with sunsequent transmission failure. The mechanic said he has had numerous nssans with transmission failures and even finding a used or rebuilt nssan is extremely difficult to find now. I am just extremly blessed that I did not cause an accident by either raming into another car or the car just stopping on the middle of the interstate during rush-hour traffic. If I Nissan could have notified owners by mail or during a service check, I could have had the defect fixed before this happened. Please reimburse owners for this cars defect.
Vibration from transmission.
Vehicle shudder like rolling over rumble strip. Problem is related to manufacture defect with radiator.
Transmission is failing because of defect in radiator that allows coolant in to the transmission.
On Feb. 8th my wife and I were moving into a new place just miles away from our old home. When cruising in between 40-50 mph the vehicle was experiencing extreme vibration in the rear end of the vehicle. It was then that I assumed it might be a universal joint and/or the drive shaft. So when I had the money I brought the vehicle to aamco transmissions to have it checked out. I had to drop it off but later that afternoon the mechanic called me and told me it was the drive shaft and the frontal u-joint. He replaced the u-joint and re-balanced the drive shaft. I thought the problem was solved but just a few miles down the road I realized it hadn't. So I brought it back and they took a second look and told me it may be two things. Either the torque converter is bad or the coolant hose busted and the antifreeze was draining into the transmission which would cause the transmission to blow out. They then told me to fix the transmission would cost me around $6,000 which to me is worth more than the actual vehicle. When I got home I did a little research and found that sure enough the antifreeze was leaking into the transmission. The antifreeze looks like a green apple milkshake if you can imagine. I don't know what to do because I know that there are no recalls for this issue nor warranty coverage. Hundreds of people have complained about this exact issue. I'm at a loss, and now there's absolutely nothing I can do with my only transportation.
Radiator fluid leaked into my transmission. This caused an entire shutdown of my transmission. I was told by Nissan that it would take up to $5,000 to repair. The radiator fluid leaked due to a defect that Nissan could have easily recalled and avoided. I have conducted research and found that thousands of other Nissan owners have experienced the same problem and Nissan is not willing to do anything about it. I was told that I would be responsible for the cost even though this could have been easily avoided by Nissan manufacturers.
Within 2 years of purchasing the vehicle, we began having problems with the passenger rear door latch mechanism. The device has a child safety lock (unsure if this is the problem). After jiggling the lock toggle in the vehicle and the child safety lock, the door would eventually unlock and allow you to open the door. This fix would remain temporary and occur often. Then the same trouble moved to the opposite rear door. After owning the vehicle now for 8 years, both doors would lock at some point in time, together, or separately and sometimes unlock after vigorous attempts to unlock the toggle. Now both doors will not unlock for us to open them. The problem is not with a likage system that may have a broken plastic piece that holds the linkage rod. I checked that myself on several occasions. I have a 4 year old that has to crawl out of the front in order to get out. In the event of an accident, this delay or an inability to move on his own, could be detrimental. I told the dealer several time about it, but they were never really concerned and the mechanism seemed to work well with them, so they shrugged me off. The dealer has terrible service. Overall, the truck has been great. But, I worry that we will not be able to get it open when needed in an emergency. I will be ordering my own parts and doing the repair myself. I can't trust the dealership and I am fed up with their lies and deceit.
