Two problems related to transmission gear slipping have been reported for the 1999 Oldsmobile Alero. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
2 driver side window motors have been replaced, dash pulled to correct corr electrical problems, no dash light, no high beam light, all withing first 6 months, 1-03 water pump replaced, and transmission slipping. Only 21000. Miles on the car. .
Transmission was slipping & eventually stopped & wouldn't go in reverse. Dealer put new transmission in on 04-17- 2000, it locked up on 5-29-2000. Vehicle wouldn't move in any gear. To be transported to the dealer. Dealer will attempt to put another transmission in. Also, brakes were grinding when coming to a stop. Dealer said brakes were okay.
