I received letter from GMC informing of a recall on the hazard flashing warning light (03v327000 or GMC # 03043. I was already experiencing issues at that time the dealer told me that it would have to be completely inoperable to be replaced. It is now inoperable and I have now been informed that my VIN # falls outside of the recall. How is it determined which VIN's are effected? is there any way to reinvestigate the effected VIN's? I would like to resolve this issue before the car is involved in an accident and not after. Thank you.

Gm told me that my VIN number for my Oldsmobile Alero 2000 does not apply to NHTSA recall 03v327000. (gm recall 03043)this recall exactly describes the problem that I have been having with my care off and on for quite a while. The turn signals and hazard lights intermittently fail. It is dangerous to expect the turn signal to work and find it does not.

Turn signals started failing a few years after we bought the car. We changed them a few years ago and later got a recall notice about them failing. They were fine at the time that we got the recall notice about 2 years ago and just recently they started failing again. They go off and I never know when they are going to not work. Sometimes they go really fast and sometimes they slow down. Other times they just do not go on at all. I never know when that is going to happen.

: the contact stated while driving at any speed, and without provocation, the turn signals and hazard lights worked intermittently. The vehicle was taken to a private repair shop, where the mechanic was unable to duplicate the problem.
Intermittent turn signal and hazard lamps. At times while driving turn signals will not work at all. Often times hazards will flash or chick rapidly during normal driving. Same symptoms as gm recall 03043 or NHTSA campaign id 03v327000, however my VIN 1g3nl52t9yc364560 is not included in recall. Gm shows only yc37xxxx through yc43xxxx in recall. These earlier VIN use the same part and have the same problem as those listed in the recall. Center console was removed for access and it was verified that any slight pressure to the combination 'hazard switch/flasher circuit board' will replicate the failures. Problem is not resolved causing vehicle have a dangerous safety issue.
: the contact stated the turn signals and hazard warning lights intermittently work. There is a NHTSA recall, # 03v327000, regarding the exterior lighting. The vehicle was not seen by a dealer and no repairs were made. The vehicle has the same problems as indicated in the recall; however, it is not included in the recall due to the VIN.
Hazard light is causing turn signals to be inoperable and both gm an Oldsmobile says vehicle VIN is not included in the recall but the vehicle is having the same symptoms as the recall states.
My vehicle (2000 Oldsmobile Alero) is exhibiting the same problem as described in NHTSA campaign id number 03v32700 but my VIN does not include my vehicle in the recall. I have contacted the manufacturer but as the VIN doesn't qualify they won't provide the repair free of charge.
I am having a problem with my hazard flashing warning lights and my turn signals.
The gm recall for a defective hazard/turn-signal switch on its malibu, Alero, & gramam lines is too narrow!. This concerns [NHTSA recall no. 03v327/gm and recall no. 03043]. A large number of cars manufactured slightly before the range contained in the recall also have the exact same problem. A quick search of any message board concerning these gm cars will back up the claims in this complaint. Even worse, local dealers refuse to honor the problem. Even worse, for cars included in the recall, some dealers charge for labor, despite the terms of the recall. . In short, gm is knowingly and purposely not extending the recall to all vehicles actually affected. The consequences of this defective part can be quite fatal -- inoperative turn signals can lead to accidents, death, and destruction. I have recently been in many "near-miss" incidents due to this faulty part. (note, while the deaths and # injured are slightly exaggerated -- the number of failures is not!). Due to the intermittent nature of this problem, I was unable to get it repaired during the warranty period. Now that the warranty has expired, it is less intermittent, and more often in a failed state.
The vehicle's turn signals have not work for approximately 6 months. The turn signals were intermittent. The hazard lights were intermittent as well. Recall# 03v327000.
The consumer was having the same problems as stated in recall#03v327000 hazard switch. The dealership will not repair the problem free of charge because the vehicle identification number was not included. Please provide more information.
My turn signals will periodically stop working. When they are not working, pressing the hazard warning light button on and off usually gets them working again. On several occasions I was not able to signal my intent to turn as I could not get the signals to work at all or I couldn't get them working in time.
Consumer's vehicle experienced the same problem as mentioned in recall 03v327000 concerning hazard warning switch. Dealership will not repair free of charge because the VIN was not included.
03 v 327 000/hazard warning switch: turn signal stopped operating while waiting at a traffic light. Feel free to provide any further information.
Hazard warning switch is bad. My 2000 Alero was built prior to February, the 2000 recall, and the acknowledgment and correction of the blatent safety issue has been ignored. It hasn't been handled satisfactory. After a month long run around of phone calls and promises, a certified letter with endorsment of documentation was mailed to Oldsmobile on the matter. I was given a claim number a month ago by Oldsmobile of 1-253388704. Melissa keffaber (purchased as melissa johnson).
Intermittently while driving at low speeds hazard lights failed to operate. Vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that the hazard warning switch needed to be replaced.
Consumer complained about hazard switch and turn signal switch problems which occurred intermittently. Manufacturer issued a recall for this make, model and year. However, this vehicle was not included in the recall due to VIN.
Consumer's vehicle experienced same problem as mentioned in NHTSA recall 03v327000. Vehicle's hazard warning light switches may experience solder joint cracking caused by rapid temperature transitions and the soldering process. If solder joint cracking occurs and results in an open circuit, the turn signals/hazard lamps become intermittent or inoperative. Dealership indicated to the consumer this vehicle was not included in the recall due to VIN.
The consumer stated that the turn signals failed intermittently. A recall was issued, however the vehicle identification number was outside of the remedy scope. Please provide additional information.
Turn signal malfunctioned because of the defect indicated in the hazard warning switch recall 03v327000. This vehicle was not included in the recall due to VIN.
The hazard warning switch h failed, causing the turn signal to malfunction. Recall 03v327000 was issued. However, this vehicle was not included in the rcall due to VIN.
While driving, the turn signal lights failed to work.
The contact states there is NHTSA recall campaign 03v327000 concerning hazard flashing warning lights:switch. This vehicle is experiencing the same problems as indicated in the recall, but it is not included in the recall due to the VIN. The contact repaired the vehicle at his own expense.
The turn signals are inoperative. The driver was unable to use them to signal the intention to turn. This was due to the defect described in the hazard warning switch recall 03v327000. But, this vehicle was not involved in recall due to VIN.
I found a recall on the NHTSA site which exactly described a problem I am having with my turn signals failing to function. Upon reporting the problem to a gm dealer, I was informed that although I am having a problem exactly as described by the recall, my VIN falls outside the recall group. My vehicle has a dangerous malfunction that won't be replaced by the dealer because supposedly the problem had been fixed.
Intermittently. Turn signal and hazard warning light were not working. Dealer and was manufactured were notified. Please provide further information.
The hazard light switch malfunctioned. The turn signals did not always work; the hazard switch had to be pushed in and out to make the signals work. The dealerships fixed the vehicle. There was a recall, but this vehicle was not included in the recall due to VIN. The problem started in January of 2004, it was intermittent.
Please refer to recall#03v327000 or gm recall number 03043. My 2000 Oldsmobile Alero is affected with the problem. But I have not received a recall notice. When I contacted gm they refuse to perform the required repair. I continue to have the problem of turn signal and hazard lamp intermittent not working. This implies the gm has not done a exhaustive work of identifying all affected cars.
