Driving and everything quit but the engine nothing on the dash worked, door locks unlocked lost headlights, radio anything electrical was gone.
Recently started financing a vehicle through car hop. They had me sign a form saying that there was a possibility of a recall on the vehicle, but didn't specify what. Reading it over now the form states they will not be responsible to correct this recall. Recall number is 14v400.
Takata recall, since the car has a ignition problem and it is at the putnam gm burlingame till now they don't do any of recall even diagnose the car and they want me to remove it now or I have to pay to fix it different from the manufacture customer service says last Tuesday when I tow that car to their place after I tell to them the situation they said they taking care of it, now they change. I feel like because I have a older car and no value they don't think about the safety of the car and the damage could be made to others. I can't. Drive that car not safe. I can't work without car please help . I'm not asking to fix the paint or wheel. Just check what they have to fix stopping of engine and hard to start cause by ignition and the airbag must work properly.

My granddaugher to be ran into the back of another can going only about 25 mph. The airbags came out but did not deflate. They had a cut in them. She did not get hurt but if she had been going faster or if I had been driving and had a wreck it could have caused major damage. She was on a side street.

Parts for repair to the key are not available as of oct 1, 2014. Parts are on back order. No date of parts availability could be provided by gm.
My son was driving down a road when the engine stopped running. He had no breaks or power steering causing him to leave the roadway and crash into a fence. The crash didn't deploy the airbag, but caused sever damage to the car, resulting in it being totaled. It was towed to a junk yard where it was sold as scrap. Fortunately my son was only slightly injured, and did not require medical attention. I contacted gm after receiving their recall notice in September, 2014. I spoke with a representative there asking just for the replacement cost of the car since the recall notice described exactly what happened when the car crashed. The representative declined the claim stating they could not inspect the car. The claim # is 71-1364722158. I feel this is unfair as at the time of the crash we were not aware of this recall notice and felt no obligation at the time to report it to gm. I also have a copy of the police report, and can forward that to you if needed.
The air bag on the passenger side is lifting at the sides.
The contact owns a 2004 Oldsmobile Alero. The contact stated that the air bag housing failed, exposing the air bag. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure was confirmed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted about the failure. The failure mileage and VIN was not available.
Today I started my car with my automatic starter then 7 minutes later I hear a horn non stop beeping I lookout my door and my car is smoking and in flames from hood. Investigator tells me it totaled. After they put the fire out I look in car and only one air bag came out.
1. Security turns on while driving, making the vehicle to spin but not drive normally on road or highway when driving 2. Horn malfunctioning, stops working when security turns on while driving 3. Seatbelt warning and airbag light flashing when security turns on while driving, seatbelt becomes locked preventing driver from being able to move to check blind spots or rear while driving 4. Emergency lights become disabled when security lights turn on key ignition was inspected and fixed according to recall. The above are things that have been noticed by new driver/owner. Only drive when necessary to avoid traffic accidents. Do not have money to pay a dealership or gm to check problems. These problems occurred since day 1 after purchasing the vehicle.
Approximately 2 plus years ago my horn stopped working. I returned to the dealer from whom I bought the car. Car was purchased used, however I did purchase extended warranty. I was informed by dealer that the horn was connected to airbag module and that the contacts were shot. To get my horn back I would have to replace a perfectly good, I hope, airbag module at a cost of approximately $1100. 00. This a b. S. I cannot afford to pay for a new airbag module. I am still without a horn. There are times when having a horn is important. In my mind this is serious design flaw. How many people can afford to resolve this problem? to me this is a 'blatant' safety hazard. Will my airbag work properly if I ever need it????.
My problem is with the horn/airbag assembly for this vehicle. It started about 3 years ago. The horn, in cold weather, honks. It would go off and continue in a constant honk (not a pulsing honk) and will not stop until the relay under the hood is pulled. If the relay is replaced and the weather is still cold it would go off/honk while riding down the road. The whole horn/airbag assembly has to be replace. I replaced the assembly 2 years ago. Now the new horn assembly goes off even in warm weather. Sitting in the driveway, going down the road, whenever, causing un-needed attention and distracting other drivers. The only solution has been to totally disable the horn/airbag by removing the relay under the hood leaving me with no horn at all. The cost for replacement is over $900. Money I can't afford to spend with no guarantee that the third unit won't do the same thing as the other two. When I enter a search on-line there are numerous complaints from other Alero owners reporting the same problem.
: the contact stated on 7-2-06 while going 50 mph, the vehicle was hit from behind. The vehicle was airborne and landed into a concrete medium. Neither the driver nor passenger air bags deployed. Damage was done to the rear and to the driver's side of the vehicle. Injuries were sustained, and a police report was taken.

Owner was driving through a gas station at approximately 2 mph and the air bags deployed. There was no accident or injuries. Owner contacted the manufacturer and the dealer.
While parking my vehicle, I stopped the car and for no reason the air bags deployed. Attempted to go through gm and they advise the frame of my vehicle has been repaired. My vehicle has never been repaird as it was never in an accident. . . . Gm refuses to pay for my vehicle.
When I got accident November 3 2004 and airbag not come blow yet. I got injury head and broke leg on right.
While driving slowing over some railroad tracks the air bags deployed.
Airbags deployed while driving 35-45 mph down road. Gm pulled data from computer and has now said that the car must have hit something to deploy the air bags, pothole, bush, stick or something. They however won't help in the matter because something caused the air bag to deploy, well I could have told them that because nothing happens without a reason. No repairs have been made to the vehicle yet I am still trying to get this resolved.
Air bag when deployed put out a fine dust that gives a person a headache.
Both air bags in the front deployed when going over a curb with a 4 inch drop to the next service.
