Fuel Delivery Problems of Oldsmobile Alero

Locked up ignition switch cruise control fell apart gear shift shifter not secure and slides up the shift. . Both oxygen sensors failed all four windows electric motors, and racks have been replaced front end vibration when stopped or parked on incline dash board leather cover came loose and rolled up like a used rug original fuel filter have to be pried out of line and then pieces left had to be removed with needle nose pliers. Fuel gauge as never worked. Now its running about 4 miles and then quits, sets for 30 minutes and drive another 4 miles then quits. Code reader says engine running lean, (problem is 4 to 5 sensors including the injectors could be causing this, no way to tell with replacing them until it runs. The expense of this could be 1000 to 3000 dollars. Electric door locks failed , replace switch, only works part of the time.

2000 olds Alero, the problem is that the car will surge forward without your foot on the gas pedal. Have taken the car into the service dept. For this and they claim that they can not find the problem. It did this daily when pulling into the garage. It even does it on the road so we keep a foot on the brake. It does not go fast but it does pick up speed on its own. Have you had others complain about this with the 3. 4 six cylinder engine with auto. It does not matter if air cond. Is on or off. Thank you for any information you can provide. This happens once or twice a week for unknown reason.

Car loses all power with little or no warning. Has done this 5 or 6 times while driving on the interstate. I have taken the car into 3 different repair shops, 1 being the dealership they could not find a problem or recreate it while driving.

The car has failed 4 times for the same reason in 14 months all fuel related the car was told to us each time to be fixed . When you buy a new car you assume the car will run without problems for a reasonable period of time we now feel that the car is unsafe to drive because you never know when the car will just shut down on you and you have no control of it thanks olds for the great car that my wife is scared to drive.
