1 Engine Stall problem of the 1996 Oldsmobile Aurora

Failure Date: 06/27/2006

: the contact stated the dash board indicator lights illuminated, chimed and ringed. As a result of this electrical problem, none of the dash board sensors worked. There is a NHTSA recall 95v204000, regarding the electrical system: ignition. The manufacturer was contacted but the VIN was not included in the recall. Also the vehicle had a problem with the rear air ride sensor. While the vehicle was driven the sensor failed, causing the rear wheel well to become 6 inches higher than normal. It was taken to an independent repair where both rear air ride sensors were replaced. One year later the left rear air ride sensor failed and was replaced again. The vehicle also had a problem with the engine stalling while driving. This occurs only when the vehicle decelerated. The fuel pump was replaced however; this did not fix the stalling problems.

2 Engine Stall problem of the 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora

Failure Date: 02/10/2004

Engine suddenly and without warning stalls during idle or while underway. Battery warning light illuminates. Car typically re-starts without any difficulty. Problem is intermittent. Engine at normal running temperature. Also notice intermittent engine rpm instability, possibly related. (see potentially relevant NHTSA item #'s 636450 and 634706). This is potentially a dangerous condition as engine, power steering and power brakes are lost during stall condition and since problem may occur during normal driving conditions and in heavy traffic. Dealer previously replaced engine crank sensors on 1/6/04, which does not appear to have corrected the problem. Condition has existed for an extended period, first noticed around 11k miles. Usually stalls at idle, 2/10 first time stall occured while underway.

3 Engine Stall problem of the 1997 Oldsmobile Aurora

Failure Date: 02/03/2003

Engine always stalls when vehicle comes to a complete stop. Had the vehicle at Oldsmobile numerous times as well as other service facilities. They were able to duplicate the problem but could not determine the cause. Car stalling in congested intersections has created a safety hazard to me and other vehicles. Numerous times came very close to impacting other vehicles and pedestrians or other vehicles impacting me in the rear as the vehicle "lurches" once re-establish it starting.
