Nine problems related to brake disc rotor have been reported for the 1999 Oldsmobile Cutlass. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Consumer states brake rotors are wearing, and when applying the brakes,the vehicle will experience a heavy vibration and extended stopping distance. Dealer notified.
Rotors have warped 7 times in 1 year and a half. Replaced 3 times turned 3 times. Manufacturer now refuses to warranty rotors for 7th time.
Rotors turned July 1999 - rotors/brakes replaced January 2000 - rotors replaced June 2000 - rotors/brakes replaced January 2001 rotors/brakes replaced June 2001.
Defective front brake rotors rusted through half way, causing the surface to wear unevenly, which may cause extended stopping distance. Please provide further information.
Front brake rotors have been replaced four times due to vibrations while driving at any speed. Abs light on the instrument panel recently illuminated, and vibration has reoccurred. Dealership was currently examining vehicle again to determine the cause of problem. Please provide any additional information / documentation.
While driving abs warning alarm chime came on, and the warning light illuminated on the dashboard. Also, brake pads and rotors were continuously replaced because of excessive wear. This was as a result of abs module sensor failure.

Rotors are of poor quality and too small for vehicle. They heat up and eventually prematurely warp, causing steering wheel to vibrate upon braking. After the front brake pads were worn out and were replaced, the vehicle started to vibrate severely and the steering wheel started shaking. The rotor also warped.
When braking vehicle will vibrated,and fluteer. Dealer is aware of defect, but there are no parts available,and parts are on back order. Dealer claims they can do temporary fixing by cutting rotors to reduce the vibration.
