Front Air Bag problems of the 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue

Car was stopped and waiting to make a left hand turn. Was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer going 50-55 mph. When car was struck, it was pushed across highway and struck guardrail at more than 10 mph, according to witness. Neither front airbag deployed. Possible defect either in system, itself, or in mfg. Process??.

While driving about 30mph in a residential area another vehicle cut in front. Trying to avoid a collision, consumer's vehicle swerved, went off the road, and hit a tree. Upon impact, neither airbags deployed.

Passenger airbag cover came loose, causing noise.
