Two problems related to front suspension stabilizer bar have been reported for the 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Was driving behind a semi and car started rocking violently. Turned off and was going across railroad tracks and heard a loud clank noise. Was then unable to drive car at highway speeds. The sway bar broke off of one side. When item was replaced one whole side was broke off and the other side was cracked. I retained the original part.
Front stabilizer bar has broken while in routine use. Likely cause is fatigue failure indicating that bar was undersized or there was a manufacturing defect.
