The contact owns a 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue gl. The contact was driving approximately 35 mph when the engine stalled with the illumination of the entire instrument panel. The engine restarted and the failure recurred five minutes later. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis. The oxygen sensor and a complete engine tune up was performed on the vehicle. Two weeks later, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic where the oxygen senor wiring was replaced. Recently, the four window regulators and air conditioner would not operate in extremely hot weather temperatures. There was a recall related to the failure under NHTSA campaign id number 09v116000 (engine and engine cooling); however the vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 104,000.

10 Engine Cooling System problem

Failure Date: 09/10/2004

Vehicle was leaking fluids from the cooling system, causing water to get into the oil and the water pump. Also, the intake valve discharged water into the crank case. Vehicle had less than 50,000 miles.
