Four problems related to engine shut off without warning have been reported for the 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Three times in the last two weeks, vehicle has stalled and the motor has cut off while driving in traffic. It happens when I let up on the accelerator prior to a turn in city traffic. This problem occurred previously, just after I bought the car in 1999 and it was repaired under warranty (crank sensor). It happened again a couple years ago when traction was lost on ice and repaired at my expense. Each time the vehicle stalled and the engine shut off while moving in traffic.
Consumer was traveling about 55mph on highway going through a tunnel and vehicle shut off without prior warning. This has been fourth time this incident happened. Then, vehicle started back up in a half of hour. Dealership was aware of problem.
Vehicle has stalled numerous times, always at slow speeds. Dealer could not find cause of problem. After the low engine oil pressure light came on, the vehicle shut off and could not be restarted.
While drivng about 10-15 mph, driver hit a pothole and vehicle just shut off. This also happened on July 10th, after vehicle hit a small bump. Vehicle started again after sitting for a while. Dealer will be notified. Please provide any further information.
