Run-away idle speed. Prior to incident vehicle was driven 15 highway miles before stopping at a store - fully warm. Upon restart 5 minutes later, vehicle had abnormally high idle, 1500 to 2500 rpm. Idle did not drop during 6-mile. Drive home. Had to put transmission in "3" or "2" versus "d", just to try and keep vehicle speed under the 35 mph limit on residential streets. Once home in driveway, put vehicle in park - idle climbed to 2600 rpm. Scarry ! ambient weather was about 70 f, with clear skies. Opened hood next morning. The accelerator / foot-feed seems to work smoothly, and I and saw no obvious problem with throttle linkage. The oil change "counter" had been re-set 2 days earlier, via the foot-feed. Sticky cable?? vehicle: 2000 old Intrigue GX VIN: 1g3wh52h9yf256486.
