Turn signal/hazard flashers. On occasion will not work period, or turn on with no blinking. Wiggling the hazard switch can bring back the flashing/flickering. Replaced part once for the same reason, was good for three months, but it came back again. The irony, the car has an no start/security light problem, but when I installed the new hazard flasher, I did not have the no start problem until the hazard switch failed again. Now it makes one wonder if the hazard switch plays a roll in the security/passkey no start scenario. Secondly, I see the recall for the impala/malibu/ monte carlogrand am/ grand prix/alero. The security light and passlock issue, if tripped will cut fuel supply, I still hear the fuel pump priming, as passkey is not a starter kill, it is rather a fuel kill. I also replaced the starter/and ignition switch, and still this problem exists. Therefore, I have two issues, first the turn signal that dies out, until you wiggle the hazard switch might bring it back. And a second independent issue of the security light/no start issue. The security light can be on, and the vehicle will restart no problem, and times with no security light , and no start. I mean by no start, the car will not turn/crank period. General motors should be involved in this matter, these are defective parts, that are widespread and not just at random. General motors needs to act properly, and the NHTSA should follow up on this matter closely to find a proper repair rather than guessing what the problem is. Thank you.

The blinker switch isn't working properly. It started about a month ago and I replaced the bulb four times and now when I try to replace it doesn't do anything. I have noticed all Intrigues having the same problem as I have asked them if that was the case. I took it to an automotive mechanic and they said that it was a defective turn signal switch. That needs to be replaced.

I believe that I am experiencing the very same issue as addressed in investigation #ea02037. However, I have a 2000 olds Intrigue. I have tried checking the fuses and wiring, but recently discovered that by moving the hazard switch, the blinkers start working again. Currently I have flaky turn signals and when they do work, only the back signals light and blink, while the front signal light comes on, the front signals do not blink. I have to "jiggle" the hazard switch daily and have had no luck finding a replacement switch. As of today, I have narrowly avoided several accidents while turning left because the cars in front of me cannot see a working signal. Please advise.

Clunking noise in steering column; headlights dim on a whim; blinkers work when they feel like it; hazard lights fail intermittently; driver's electric window locks up in the closed position intermittently and last be not least transmission whines and clucks when shifting gears--intermittently of course. On going for last 3 years.
