2 Tire problem of the 2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette

Failure Date: 04/25/2010

I purchased goodyear eagle LS tires p225/60r16 they now have 25,000 miles on them and are completely bald. Sams club measured the tread at 0/32. Sams offered me a prorated warranty of $35 per tire, I paid $73. (out the door $184 for 2)they were sold to me as a 50000 mile tire, they are under warranty and wore out at half the warranty. Isn't this a faulty tire? I can't afford new tires again and they are very dangerous for me and my children during the rainy season. I tried to email goodyear but the link does not work. Hummm, I bet they know that. Other people on line said they got no where with them. Please help. Shouldn't they have to replace the tire? I see they have many loop holes. How can I get help. I see many complaints on line on this same tire wearing out too early. I don't want to have to check the box that there were deaths or injuries seen below. 4 Tire problem of the 2004 Oldsmobile Silhouette

Failure Date: 11/07/2005

Almost identical circumstances as in odi 10137234. Big o tires aligned my van in oct 2005 and discovered the tread separation. Alignment was within spec, except camber or caster on the rear were 0. 02 degrees out. They referend me to the dealer. At first, over the telephone, the dealership said it was due to neglet and referred me to an authorized goodyear dealer. Goodyear tire dealership discovered tread separation on all 4 tires on my 2004 Oldsmobile minivan on the inside edge, under the vehicle. Goodyear saw my rotation/balance records and agreed to warrant the tires. This is why all four tires were worn, due to rotaiton every 6-8k miles. They gave me prorated credit based on tread depth remaining. 50% for two and 25% for the other two credit. Mileage is at 32k. They also explained that we should not drive on them until replaced. Of course I replaced them with another model of goodyear. I was concerned that my wife and kids would be killed in an accident (wife's car). Big o tire also stated they have heard of tread separation on these exact tires, the LS model, on other vans. I demand that both goodyear and Oldsmobile should address this situation for a recall. In addition, full reimbursement is necessary for replacement. This needs to be addressed immediately to prevent possible injury and/or death.

8 Tire problem of the 2000 Oldsmobile Silhouette

Failure Date: 03/15/2003

Bridgestone b420, 215-70r15 tire => tread appears to be separating from body of tire. Tread still plentiful. Engaged firestone corporate on 2 occassions to learn how I can have tire assessed to determine if manufacture\\'s defect, and on both occassion they couldn\\'t assist => told that since tire was sold by sears (I. E. Made for sears retail tire stores only) that sear would have to assess / warranty tire. Firestone could not provide me name of appropriate \\sears\\ contact. How should I determine if tire has manufacturer defective if manufacture is unwilling to look at it?.

9 Tire problem of the 2000 Oldsmobile Silhouette

Failure Date: 10/21/2001

Since purchasing this vehicle on March 2, 2001, we have had three blowouts with these firestone original equipment tires. The first one happened before the car had been driven 2,000 mi. This tire had to be replaced by owner - dealer said it was not covered by the warranty. The second blow-out happened at approximately 8,000 mi. And that tire was able to be fixed. However, last evening we had our third blow-out and the tire is completely "shot" and will need to be replaced. I believe there has to be a defect in the tires; we have never had blow-outs in any of our previous vehilcles/tires. (dot number: fr680 tiresize: p21570r15).

10 Tire problem of the 1998 Oldsmobile Silhouette

Failure Date: 04/17/2001

I've had brakes fixed, and have replaced the tires twice! the back-end keeps making noise every time you change the gear from park to drive or any other gear. The brakes squeal a lot and the back end seems like it wants to come off, very loud and very loud squealing. Would not recommend anyone to buy this type of vehicle and I won't buy another one! car has had these problems since purchased new in 1998, but under a 5 year lease, I feel stuck! very dissatisfied customer!.

Failure Date: 08/13/2000

While driving on interstate 65 n near seymour indiana our tire dissentigrated. We pulled over immediately and found 2 sides on the tire with the middle tread missing. We replaced all four tires within 1 day because of safety concerns. The rim was not damaged. The accident happened with 2 adults and 5 children in the van. This could have been a major tragedy. I have a picture of the damaged tire that I can email if necessary. I would like to be re-imbursed for the expense of the new tires. Thanks!( dot number: tire size: p215/70r15 ).
