Oil noticed on ground under vehicle. Mechanic says head gasket is leaking oil out of engine. Head gasket failure is causing oil to be leaked onto ground which causes ecological damage to our environment per epa. This web site documents this as a trend for this platform of Plymouth vehicle. There must be tens of thousands of gallons of petroleum oil being spilled into our environment by these vehicles, maybe more. These vehicles are injuring us all and should no longer be used unless properly and permanently fixed.

Head gasket is leaking.
Head gasket was leaking oil and was replaced at our expense at Chrysler crossroad March 2000 and now 4 months later it has to be replaced again.
On 2/8/00, noticed a significant amount of oil on my driveway under the Breeze. Checked oil--over a quart low. Refilled oil and had the car checked the next day. Trusted mechanic said head gasket was leaking badly. Took to local Chrysler-Plymouth dealer (ladd-hanford of lebanon, PA). They replaced head gasket for $50 deductible. Called Chrysler consumer hotline, but Chrysler refused to answer any questions about service history of 1996 Breeze. My search for information led me to this web site, where I discovered 1996 Breeze has had significant problems. Is this a poor car to own?.
Head gasket oil leak.
My Plymouth Breeze has developed a head gasket leak. My understanding is that this is a common problem for the 2. 0 liter engine. I'm not sure when the leak began, only that as of about 2 oil changes ago, my vehicle has been low on oil.
Head gasket leaking oil and blowing by spark plugs. Our regular, trusted mechanic says this is a typical problem with Plymouth Breeze and shold have been a recall item. Since repair estimate is $600, would like to know if this item is being considered for recall since it has happened to so many vehicles and there are technical service bulletins regarding this problem.
Noticed leakage of oil under car chassis. Dealer diagnosed leaking head gasket and cam sensor seal. Dealer reports working on same problem reported by other neon and Breeze owners. Previous problem with excessive creaking in front suspension with any jarring of suspension system.
Engine head gasket was leaking oil onto spark plugs and anti-freeze. Dealer has replaced the gasket and the bolts on may 18 1999.
Head gasket found leaking at 54000 miles, replaced, now found leaking again at 107,000 miles. Dealer says not covered due to mileage, but that there have been 3 revisions on the gaskets up to now.
We have had several problems with this car. Our major concern right now is the head gasket leak. We are having it replaced for the second time. The dealer told us that Chrysler has redesigned it 5 times. The car has leaked oil ever since we have owned it, from the head gasket and the cam sensor.
Head gasket leaks. Dealer reports that the gasket is defective. Same for neon, Breeze, stratus, etc. All must be replaced. Should be recalled. Refunds should be made. Also, steering wheel shakes and makes noise when turning right. Nothing done yet.
Originally reported trouble to local dealership and they advised me that the problem was not covered by warranty and that I should continue to replace lost oil and that it was not worth fixing because I would probably want to trade it in. Then when I schedualed to have it fixed, about 9 months later, they advised me that they would have never told me that and that it was covered under warrenty. By that time of coarse I was out of milage warrenty. I went ahead and sent it in to have the head gasket repared or replaced whatever needed to be done. They told me at that time that there was a national back order on the part so I did not recieve my vehicle back for over a month. Then when I did get it back I noticed that it was still leaking oil so I called imediately. It took them 2 weeks to get it back in only to tell me what I already new that the head gasket was leaking and it need to be replaced. I called them ever day to check on the progress and what they finally told me was that there was a redesign on the gaskets because the original one had a defect but there was no recall on them and that the first one that they replaced was still the old design so they would replace it at no charge with the new design but when I finally got my car back it was still leaking! so far I am out of over a $1000. 00 in repair and that is not even counting the cost of rental cars.
