It's unbelievable that a 4 year old car would have the head gasket go out. Luckily, the dealer was able to fix it without the need for a new engine. But it still cost $1051 to have the car fixed. I've heard that other Breezes have had the same problem. I am very unhappy about the whole thing.

6 Engine problem

Failure Date: 03/19/2000

I have been having problems with oil dripping from my 1996 Plymouth Breeze. I took it to my mechanic, who told me that the problem was a bad head gasket. I was told by him that Plymouth was have a problem with that vehicle and that should be a recall item. I contacted Chrysler about my problem and they advised that it wasn't a recalled problem, and it never will be. For them to fix it ,it will cost upwards of 2,000 dollars. I have tried to reason with them, but couldn't get anywhere with them. The problem is very messy for my driveway, and probably a safety concern the more I drive it on the road. I hope NHTSA puts our concerns to the forfront and gets Chrysler to address our situation and finally put the problem on the recall list. As a fan of the chrsyler product and buyer, I hope that something can be done. Frank cortez.
