Front Seat Belt Retractor problem #1

Seatbelt system with a little "black part" breaks, and does not retract. This black part, which is on the "male end" of the seat belt, contains three springs, and when it is broken, there is no longer tension in the belt. Without tension,the belt will no longer hold the css securely. Dealer replaced all seatbelts.

The contact owns a 1998 Plymouth Breeze. The contact stated that the rear seat belts do not lock and would not retract properly. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 216,000.
