Three problems related to suspension torsion bar have been reported for the 1996 Plymouth Grand Voyager. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Front sway bar found broken at bolt on drivers side of van. Also, upper strut bearings may be damaged and need to be replaced. Mechanic was suprised that the local dealer had sway bar in stock, as they usually only stock parts that are routinely replaced or that are know to fail. Mechanic stated that if sway bar had broken free at bolt, it could have punctured the drivers side tire, or caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
While driving, transmission jumped out of place & would not shift gears-had to rebuild & problem still not fixed, air conditioner completely went out had to replace whole system. Independent front torsion bar- front sway bars broke at bolts-upper strut bearings damaged-completely replaced. Very dissapointed in this vehicle< not safe to travel with children in it!!.
There is a problem with the left and right sway bars.
