Vehicle is garage kept, and well maintained. Original tires with light to moderate treadwear. On clear dry well maintained toll road while on cruise control at 70 mph, the front left tire sidewall completely blew out. My wife (the driver) was fortunately able to keep the vehicle under control and make it to the shoulder. This could have been disastrous if she had not kept her head and not slammed on brakes or panicked and oversteered. We felt it necessary to replace the entire set of tires, even though the remaining tire's treadware seemed fine. We saved the pieces of the tire that blew, took digital pictures, and video. I question safety of the tire and large Mini-van matchup. Hopefully, should this happen to anyone else, they too are fortunate, as was my wife. Two weeks after purchasing car, on trip north, front passenger tire blew out at rockymt. , nc on I-95. Later that same day rear passenger tire went in MD on us 301. Dealer was contacted. Went to multiple goodyear dealers re. Problem and also car dealer in nc. Very scary to have two in one day. Almost didn't get back in car next morning. Still shaky about tires. Saw article re. Goodyear in news recently and decided to write to you. I don't know how we survived blow out on I-95 other than great braking system on car (upgrade) and masterful driving by my husband. We had complete tire separation from wheel because of speed at which it occured. Company in rocky mt. , nc said it was closest thing to blow out he's seen in 20 years. Thank you. ( dot number: ).

Goodyear tire recall notice ; inner sidewalls may have been cut during the tire mounting process, may cause a tire blowout, and could result in an accident. Recall repairs refused for several weeks due to dealer being busy with they own customers and lack of proper tires (97v-200).
