Complete belt separation without tire deflation. . . Belts flew off leaving $1,348 worth of damage to vehicle. . . . Tires were inspected prior to leaving on vacation from florida to wisconsin. . . Belt separation took place outside of maquoketa, iowa. This tire should not have separated in such manner. . . . Fortunately my family was not harmed by this incident, other than financially. Upon contacting michelin discovered the company was not interested in this problem. Hopefully this information will possibly prevent this type of problem happening to others. . . . 4 Tire Tread/belt problem of the 1999 Plymouth Grand Voyager

Failure Date: 12/30/2000

About eight months after I owned my vehicle, the right front tire was showing excessive wear and was told to have the car aligned. The tires were rotated and the car aligned. These tires have a lot of tread even tho they keeping wearing on the edges. I have my tires rotated according to the manual. In December 2000 I went to the goodyear people and they said one tire had three bubbles on it so I put the spare on. Then he proceeded to tell me that all tires had bubbles and should be replaced as soon as possible. They want me to buy the same tire for $113. Each and they will give me a 25% discount, well I wouldn't buy that tire at any price. The massey dealer says it is up to goodyear. Now I am afraid to drive the car with these tires on it. I feel that if a tire only lasts 28000 miles it should not be put on a new vehicle and certainly not sold at $113. A tire. (dot number: m6vf hkdr tiresize: p215/65r15).
