Put the van in drive and it acts like it is in park/neutral then within 20 seconds or more it decides to go. Now you will be driving and all of a sudden the van puts itself in neutral and then back into drive after awhile. Not safe!! there are several leaks underneath the first 5 minutes the van is turned on it dings like the door is open. After about 10 minutes the brake light shines on dash and the bell rings the van is parked for now.
Consumer complained about several problems. Recently, the air bag light came on/the odometer stopped reading mileage, and the horn did not work. The cause of these problems had not been determined.

Had let vehicle idle a while before moving. Shifted into reverse & started to back out. Engine stalled out. No prior warning. Took to dealer 1st time & had map sensor replaced. 2nd time throttle sensor was replaced. 3rd time control module. 4th time mechanic took engine apart & found wires under the hood had melted together & all the electrical wires needed replacing. This was due to the wires being too close to the exhaust system.
Consumers foot went to the floor, the engine raced and the consumer could not control the vehicle, several repair attempts and rebuilt transmission prior to incident. Nlm transmission failed while driving up a hill only six weeks after purchase, consumer requests reimbursement. (attorney for client).
Have spent four months going through repairs etc for problem they admit exists, and they can't fix. We were offered a new van 8/12/99, corporate told them to replace van same day, and they won't! we went tthrough CO's a g and the mtr vehlce lic board, who told us to start civil action, as did their own arbitration case adminstr. Since it a nonrepairable issue why can't they be forced to tell consumers?.
When making a left or right turn engine races, but transmission fails to engage. Also, transmission only functions properly when it is in reverse or first gear. Dealer has replaced transmission five times, which has not corrected problem. Front brakes failed twice.
Multiple collisions, non-family member driving car. Driver had an epileptic seizure and blacked out. Apparently accelerated the Mini van and rear ended a Dodge ram pickup truck twice, and then ran into a telephone pole. Both air bags deployed. Driver wakened from accident. The right front passenger's seat, however, was up against the dashboard after the accident. Chrysler sent out an engineer to look at seat. It was pinned against the dashboard and will not move. Our concern is obvious. What would have happened in an accident with a passenger in the seat? pictures are available via e-mail if requested. Car was considered "totalled"by the insurance company. Car is located at pulera alrikas collision center kenosha, WI 53144.
While foot is on brake pedal, the vehicle surges forward almost causing a collision.
Speed control and horn stopped working at apprximately the same time. The air bag light came on at approximately the same time. No accident or anything else unusual occurred that would have caused these to malfunction.
While driving at highway speeds and trying to pass another vehicle, engine revs, and the accelerator has to be released before the transmission catches up. Dealer has been contacted, says this condition is normal.
