Transmission Failure problems of the 1996 Plymouth Neon

Six problems related to transmission failure have been reported for the 1996 Plymouth Neon. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Transmission Failure problem

Failure Date: 03/27/2000

First the battery kept draining due to a short within in it and was replaced. Second, the transmission failed and had to be completely overhauled. By the time anyone figured out what was wrong it would not go in reverse. Third, the head gasket is causing an oil leak and needs to be replaced. Other things that just stopped working include the relase for the trunk and back left speaker. This car is a nightmare and something should be done to compensate anyone who still has one.

2 Transmission Failure problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2000

Transmission failed while driving. Nlm.

3 Transmission Failure problem

Failure Date: 11/01/1998

Transmission failed, passenger side door leaks when going through puddles, door panels come off on both sides causing door not to open,trunk leaks when it rains.

4 Transmission Failure problem

Failure Date: 07/01/1996

Steering, head gasket, brakes, transmission failed.

5 Transmission Failure problem

Failure Date: 07/01/1996

Transmission failure.

6 Transmission Failure problem

Possible transmission failure is causing the vehicle to knock/stumble/gear lock up, while driving.
