The hood flew up while I was driving because the safety latch is no longer working. I contacted Chrysler, they took 3 weeks to send a representative out to assess my car, and then proceeded to claim that it was not their problem, but "wear and tear" on a car.

2 Hood Latch problem of the 1997 Plymouth Neon

Failure Date: 05/22/1999

At 55mph hood latch popped open, causing hood to fly up, obstructing the view of the driver, and resulting in a collision. Driver and passenger sustained minor injuries. Manufacturer has been notified.
