The consuemr received a recall concerning clock spring in his 2000 Dodge caravan. The consumer also owns a 1996 Plymouth Voyager which is having the same problem as the caravan. The consumer believes the clocksping in the Voyager is also defective and believes it should be covered under the same recall as the caravan. The dealer indicated that the 1996 voyagrer was not included in the recall. Manufacturer has not been contacted yet.
Vehicle hit a pothole resulting in the vehicle bottom denting the oil pan and the air bags deploying. While driving on a dirt road going approximately 35 mph the vehicle hit a very deep pit hole. The vehicle bottomed out denting the oil pan and the air bags deployed. The consumer admits that he hit the pot hole rather hard but there was no front end damage. The impact of the air bag caused the consumer's left hand to hit the windshield and shatter in. As a result the consumer's left arm was burned and bruised. The consumer needs assistance getting the vehicle repaired because there is no longer a Plymouth dealer in his area.
I completed a recall on the air bag component of my 1996 Plymouth Voyager in July 2003. I was involved in a t-bone collision on January 26, 2004 where I hit the other car in his driver door going approx. 40 mph. Neither of my air bags opened.
Consumer stated when he stopped at a red light, without warning both front air bags deployed. As a result, consumer hit another motorist. Dealer has been notified. Please provide any additional information. Ph.
Consumer states that when making a turn at 15 mph and without warning the air bag inadvertently deploys causing the consumer to pull over. Dealer notified. Mr.
Horn stopped working. Vehicle repaired by dealer who advised the consumer that the clock spring was defective. Consumer was in a parking lot and a vehicle started to back out of a parking space, consumers horn wouldn't work. Consumer feels that the horn and cruise control are/were defective and the manufacturer should pay the cost of repair. (146. 78).
Air bag warning lite illuminates. Dealer reports that the air bag clockspring needs to be replaced at a cost of $350. Contacted Chrysler customer service on 5/20/02 and Chrysler offered to pay half of the cost of the repair.
This clock sring mechanism is in the steering wheel and controls your airbags, directional signals, horn and cruise control. It's my understanding that your airbags do not work when this mechanism is broken . I had just replced this part 12 months earlier.

The air bag/ clockspring was defective and affected the horn, cruise control and automatic locks. This is becoming a common problem for vehicles similar to my make, model and year, according to our mechanic. Upon research via internet, its an apparent problem and yet a recall has not been issued. I would like reimbursement since this was defective. Thank you for looking into this matter.
This assembly disables the airbag system. It also disables the criuse control and horn systems.
Due to failure of clock spring, unable to use horn and airbag inoperative-safety compromised. This part was on the news as a problem but not a recall yet! cost $345. Oo to fix. This system should not fail.
Failure of this part rendered the airbag system ineffective. Also the horn would not work, nor would the cruise control work. Approx $230 to fix. T work.

Per consumer the dealership crown Dodge,Chrysler,Plymouth inc;gadsden al;256-546-5276; is going to run a diagnose before doing recall on the vehicle ,and will charge consumer if the recall part is not defective. The recall is for the air bag clock spring 02 v 293 000.
