14 problems related to engine cooling system have been reported for the 1996 Plymouth Voyager. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Engine and cooling system failure over faulty plug, I. E. (96v006000). Engine leaked out oil and cooked the engine. Now car sits, insured, in my driveway while I continue to make payments on it.
Water pump has broken 3 times in the last 3 years . Also the timing belt was broken 3 times and tensioner was broken 2 times ( all replaced when water pump was broken )-in Plymouth Voyager 1996. 8jb.
Waterpump replaced 7 times. Four by dealer 3 by my mechanic. Tensioner twice. Dealer has not said that this is a common problem.
While driving engine will overheat. Had to drive off the road to let engine cool off. Had taken vehicle to dealer, and water pump had to be replaced. Please provide more information.

Serpentine belt tensioner broke causing belt to brake, loosing power steering capabitlties. This could cause a serious accident if vehicle was driven at highway speed. Manufactuer insists that this is a normal wear item, and not that unusual. Vehicle owner has heard of two other instances such as this although they were not reported. There appears to be potential deadly defect with this part even though the maufactuer will not admit to it. Serious potential for injury exists if the tensioner breaks at highway speeds.
Power steering went out when driving through mudd puddles at 40 mph or in car wash. Taken to dealer, belt had come off. Repaired it, but had no answer why it happened. This has happened lots of times. Also, windshield wipers came on while driving, switch has been replaced 5 times. The main belt failed. The water pump failed. The transmission was leaking. The a/c compressor went out burning on freeway.
On 8/13/99 the battery of my car die and I put a new battery after that the climate control light begin to blink and went I was driving, the car start to overheating and I notice that the cooling fan was not working.

Dealer refuses to discuss manufacturing defect of transmission. Unacceptable to have total transmission failure at only 49,000 miles!.
